12-A Electric Blower is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 265.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poor material quality My husband and I purchased this to replace our blower and mulcher/vacuum that were broken. The blower/mulcher/vacuum are great and the design and handling is great. The only complaint we have is the bag is made of poor quality material. I had place the strap over my shoulder and only have 2 uses the shoulder strap was separating from the bag. Then as I continued to do the yard work part of the seam opened up and then I noticed that I also had 2 holes in the bag. Better quality material is a must for this bag. Otherwise, no other issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blower for the price. My old electric blower lasted forever so I have high expectations for this one. Right out of the box I found it easy to put together. For my first use I used it the blow yard debris from my driveway. I kept it on the low setting and it worked effortlessly. Then I switched to vacuum mode. It was a simple process without referring to the instructions. For the vacuum I used the high setting to get dried clumps of grass off my lawn. This task was handled with ease. So far so good and if quality becomes an issue I spent the extra $6.97 for 2 year Lowes coverage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Concept Ever I had never heard of a leaf vacuum when I went to purchase a leaf blower for my yard but I stumbled across this and had to give it a try for the price. I have to say, the concept is fantastic. The design could use some work. In vaccum mode, this thing sucks up leaves like a champ and chops them up making it great for a compost pile. The bag, however, is pretty small, filling up quickly. A warning too: be prepared for A LOT of dust. There is no filter, so it's best to have a mask when using. The zipper is also small and broke the first time I opened the bag. Overall though, it's a great buy for the money: I fixed the zipper and will use it again next Fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Leaf Blower I have had to convert from gas to corded electric lawn appliances due to injuries I kept receiving trying to start gas leaf blower, gas weed eater, gas cultivator, and gas lawn mower. I got tired of the physical therapy. Yes, I am old! I decided on B and D due to their reputation. The leaf blower was so easy to assemble. Did not need to look at directions. Out of the box and in use in less than 10 minutes. The leaf blower converts easily from blower to vacuum. Used the vacuum this morning and was very pleased. Blower seems strong enough to handle my lawn needs. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bag disintegrates The suction on this product is great. The bag is extremely low quality and disintegrates after several uses. I am having to take it in to get another bag, and or trade in. They need to work on the quality of the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase Blower works excellent,... vac works great, but bag started puncturing on first small sticks. Overall, I would buy again. Recommend bag reinforcment at connection to blower.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this unit to replace a similar product that I bought many years ago which worked without any problems associated with this one. While the suction / blowing functions of this product are good, the durability of the vacuum bag is poor. The quality of the fabric is poor. It ripped very easily and to make matters worse, the quality of the zipper is poor. On top of those problems, you cannot buy a replacement bag at Lowes. To get a replacement bag, you have to either order from B&D or some other internet vendor. B&D's price for the replacement bag is $11.50, but they charge $10.99 to ship it. Additionally, when switching from blowing to vacuuming, the design makes it difficult to attach the vacuum tube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dual Purpose I've had this for about a month. It has made raking the yard so much easier. The blower not only blows the leaves to create a pile of leaves. It has a vacuum that sucks up leaves, chops them into pieces, and collects them in a bag. Then toss them in garbage, makes it so much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two minor details to consider. 10-17-12 I bought this blower and went home to a yard full of big ole dry Popular leaves. Assembly was easy enough and after a quick check for loose or missing parts I plugged it up and away I went. I used the vacuum attachment first to mulch the leaves, and I had lots of them. Two minor things I noticed I thought worth mentioning, but these wouldn't deter a buyer I wouldn't think. The vacuum tube is long. I'm six feet six and found it awkward using the machine because I had to lift higher than was comfortable for me. A shorter person would be worse off I would think. There is however a quick fix, cut the tube about 3 inches off the bottom and no harm done. Then the leaves got stopped up inside the tube because the design for joining the two pieces together creates a ring inside sticking out about 3/8" or just enough to hang a wad of leaves up. Overall, I think this machine is going to give me more than the two year warranty service life. * A note to the reader, please use an extension cord of sufficient size. A 100 ft. cord will need to be #12 gauge and rated for 15 amp. This is after all a 12 amp blower. USE EYE PROTECTION!!*

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ratio way off but good product The blower portion of this item is great. Does the job you'd think it does, it blows things around. The vacuum is great too, mulches leaves right up. However any type of stick what so ever and it gets clogged. The ratio is definitely way off, i'd honestly say its about 2:1 POSSIBLY 3:1 ratio. Bag fills up very very quickly but...at least you're not hand feeding them into a bag right? I haven't had any issues with the quality of the bag like some others and I have a ton of leaves. A lot. Everyone's trees seem to lean over my yard including all of my own. Honestly I wouldn't have purchased this if I knew the leaf collection accessory would never be available... it's way more work than it worth emptying the bag as often as every two minutes or so... switching between the blower and vac is really simply. Using the item is awkward as there is no where to place your second hand. The knob on the top is way too close to the handle to get any kind of leverage when holding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value So far this product has been great. It is strong enough to suck the leaves out of my landscaping rocks but not strong enough to pick up the rocks. The bag doesn't fill too quickly and it is light and portable. The blower is very strong on high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very strong blower and easy handle grips This was well worth the money. The power of the blower is very strong. The vacuum feature is great although cannot pick up a lot at once or anything weighty such as group of green leaves. I love the bag design with zipper at bottom to empty easily. Great for cleaning up instead of using the hose. The handle is well designed making it easy to hold and manuever. I put it together by myself and found it easy to do without even reading directions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's good for what it is Can't expect a Boeing 777 engine when you get an inexpensive electric blower. But this is what I need. I have 1/3 of an acre, and only part of it gets any appreciable leaf cover. So this bad boy does a pretty nice job of blowing the leaves around and sucking them up when they're in a big pile. Two bones to pick. 1) Cords are evil. The cord got in the way more than few times, and came unplugged too. 2) I sincerely doubt that vac bag can hold "ten bags worth of leaves." I found myself dumping out the bag every five minutes or so. But it's still nice. I like the wide mouth on the attachment for the vacuum - helps up pick up all those huge leaves from the oldest trees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I have never used a leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher before, but this Black and Decker worked great! Even on wet leaves, didn't jam as I thought it might, used it on high as the low setting didn't do much. It even took on small twigs that were raked up with the leaves. I have many Black and Decker products and have yet to be disappointed :) I would change the bag setup a little, as it fills uneven with the current design, maybe reverse the way it hangs so that the bulk of bag is toward the back not the front, and that way when using the vacuum it is easier to keep bag away from the vacuum end and it would fill evenly so would require emptying less often (bigger bag would be nice too)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I have 5 houses with medium yards. This Black and Decker Blower works perfect at first, but make sure you have at least a 100ft extention cord. If used to vaccuum leaves be prepared to empty bag frequently, unstop clogged leaves, purchase an extra bag and to sew on a new zipper. My B&D Blower bag started deteriating while doing the third yard and the zipper jams and eventually breaks the deteriating bag. But what do you expect from a Brand Name Blower/Vaccuum for under $50.00.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great First Impression! I'm going to assume the review that stated this was hard to assemble was tongue-in-cheek. I did not open the instructions and had this together myself 60 seconds after pulling it out of the box. I primarily needed this for vacuuming leaves off of my patio. I bought it the same day that my Toro blower/vacuum burned out after 7 years. This one is noticeably quieter than the Toro, and has more suction. The Toro had a 12-amp motor as well. I have only used this once so far but could not be more pleased with its performance. Mulching ratio looks to be the same as the Toro was, as I dumped the bag on top of mulched leaves from the last bag from the old one. OK, the bag is a little cheap. I may call this whole unit more of a light-duty machine vs. medium duty, but come on now...it's $40! One thing I like about the bag is that more air seems to flow through it. So you don't have to fight your way around with a giant inflated balloon as you are working. The bag only stays semi-inflated. Great sucking power though, as this thing actually sucked itself onto my patio a couple times before I got used to keeping it at a bit of an angle. I never had that problem with my old one. Quiet, powerful, easy to assemble and use...plus inexpensive. Whether it's durable remains to be seen, but if I get three or four seasons out of it I will be happy. Other than the bag it does not have a low-quality feel to it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short Life Span The bag seems to be made from paper glued to fabric. The fabric supports the zipper and connection to the blower yet that still requires repair and any moist leaves will rip apart 2-3"" below the fabric. Forget warranty, there is none on attachments. The self destruction of the bag is enough to go elsewhere for another product. Very inferior for less than two years and 1500 sq ft back yard and utilized 10 months out of the two years. Bottom line " no moisture" and get maybe 2 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for what I wanted If I were looking for a blower that was also a good at mulching I would not have bought this for one simple reason. The blade that would do the mulching is not metal. Since I did not buy this to vacuum, but only to do light blowing of leaves, it is very adequate at doing this task. The blower tube sections had a poor fit . Fitting the two parts together keeps me from giving this blower five stars. It was as if the one part that is to slide into the other half was just a bit too large making for a bit of a fight to get the two halves to become on. Not a huge deal really. Just thought they should go together with out a fight.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do not buy this unit! I would give this unit a 5 for auction and blowing and a 0 for the bag. I bought this unit to replace an older B & D blower munched after owning it for over 7 years. When I used it the 3 or 4 times, I was impressed with its power. Then the bag' s zipper broke. Darn! I took it off and mistakenly left it on the patio for a week. When I saw it again the bag had disintegrated, it really turned to powder. Now try to find a replacement bag! I couldn't. The material and construction of the bag is SO CHEAP that it makes the vacuum useless. Therefore I am giving it a 2 for the blower only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Power I purchased the leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher about 3 weeks ago. Just used it this weekend and I have to admit it's very powerful and really sucks up the leaves. The price can't be beat. One problem I have is that it is a bit bulky and me and being a woman of 62 years old it will take some time getting use to. My other problem is that the cord is in the front which got in the way and the extension cord kept coming off, so I had to stop and plug it back in and the strap on the bag could be alot wider to support the bag the mulch is in. Otherwise, I would give this five stars. Will follow up with another review in the spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product For Good Price The product itself is just average. Nothing special but that's what I was looking for. It's electric which my wife really enjoys. It has two separate functions, Vacuum and Blower. My wife asked for both and when I saw this unit that has both in one, I was very interested. The probably is she was confused by how to set it up, so she asked me. There are instructions and it's not very difficult. For the price, it functions really well and is useful for what we needed it for. We were asked if we wanted to purchase an extended warranty but since we paid very little for this unit, it wasn't really needed. I believe the product was around $40 and the warranty was about $5.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good for light duty use I have had this unit for a little over a year. I am a 69 year old woman who is 5'5" and had no problem using it. It's light (which is good)and a little bulky (no so good), but it can be managed and does the job. It works excellent as a blower. I bought it to use as a vacuum. If you try to suck up too many leaves at once, it will clog. If you get any twigs in it, it will tear the bag. Like others have said, the bag is the real problem. The lining tore during the first use, but you can just cut it out. The bag itself got a hole during the first week of use, but good ol' Duck Tape worked very well - for a few months anyway. I went on-line to order a new bag unit from B&D, which came eventually. That bag had the same problems but still lasted the rest of the year. Here it is a new year and guess what. That's right, the bag is ripped from stem to stern and can't be fixed with Duck Tape. This time I ordered 2 bags from B&B, but they still aren't here after 2 weeks. If you buy this, don't expect to use it as a vacuum for more than one spring/summer. The bags cost about $15 each, but good luck finding them. Makes a good blower, however - like I needed one to begin with!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 2 minutes Took the unit out of the box, plugged in and started on low speed. Motor sounded rough. Two minutes in, the thing stopped and would not work on the low speed setting. Turned on the high speed and it would run. Taking it back to Lowe's tomorrow to upgrade to a more expensive and hopefully better unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waiting for fall to really test the product. I received the Blower as a X-mass gift. The sweeper is easy for me to handle, being 70 years old. Changing from vacuum to sweeper is fast . Haven't used the bag yet. Can't wait for the weather to get warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from leaf blower This the first such product that I've ever purchased, so I have nothing to compare it to. Directions were a bit difficult to follow but I managed to get it put together. I'd probably contribute this to the fact that it is both a vacuum and a leaf blower......My primary concern was that when I opened up the box, I noticed a filmy layer of soot over most of the product, like it had been exposed to elements while outside of the box. I also noticed a few abrasions on the product but since this is obviously going to be used outside, I didn't take the time to send it back or personally return it to to a local store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Save your effort and upgrade I purchased this for leaf blowing in my yard and it could not do the job on the driveway, much less the grass. It took multiple passes to move even the smallest volume of leaves. After 30 minutes, I gave up and returned it to the store, paid $26 more for the BV5600 and more than got my money's worth. One sweep equaled the 30 minutes of prior attempts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worthless bag Bought this a year ago the zipper on the bag is broken therefore the vac part is useless ,not happy with this at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great blower good balance...I can use only one hand to swing the blower. This has 2 speeds of blower..low speed was enough to blow the leaves from my rock landscaping without blowing the rocks. Read the less than rave reviews about the vacuum part of this machine. I didn't even know it had a vacuum feature when I purchased it, so I haven't used it yet. great product for the price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst ever. From Black & Decker? The bag tore on my 1st use. There is no zipper to remove leaves in bag. Good Luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died first day i used it. Bought this blower/vac on 12/29/17. I used it oke time and filled up almost two of the tiny bags on it, when the motor stopped working. In all the motor lasted about 15 mins before quiting.
