Heavy-Duty XRP Battery Combo Pack 18V - 2-Pack is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 180.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Nicads/Good price @$99 for TWO Lots of power with these XRP's, and if you remember a few charging tips, they will last a long time. When you get these home, charge them to the full value, for 8 hours, as they ship them with about 16-17 volts. That extra 2 volts really makes a difference, and is the proper way with brand new batteries. The 8 hours for the first charge is important, even though the charger light tells you it's charged much sooner. Dewalt Nicad chargers allow you to leave batteries in the charger as long as you like, and recommend leaving in there when storing. Price- wise the $99 for two is the lowest I've see. Buy on-line here, and pick up in store to save shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Commercial quality for the DYI consumer Many of my other drills and portable power tools run on battery packs, too. But, they always seem to fade right when I need a little more output to complete the job. The DeWalt tools and battery packs have been excellent in providing the power to finish the job everytime. They have the technology built-in to provide long life and avoid over-charging. and, I'm not talking about the Lithium batteries! Maybe they cost just a little more upfront when compared to the consumer brands, but the last a lot longer when used on the job ... and, that makes my life so much easier. I run out of energy before the battery does!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great batteries, but don't buy for more than $99 These batteries last a long time, fit loads of Dewalt tools and recharge at a tremendous speed. I would recommend to anyone and they are a serious selling point for any DeWalt tool. All that being said, do not buy these unless they are less than $99 because they go on sale regularly at Lowe's for $99 and are always that price or under at several other places both online and in store.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from These batteries go bad to quickly - Don't last This has nothing to do with Lowes....but DeWalt. Purchased a special deal at Lowes last christmas 2012. The deal was buy a Drill and get 2 batteries with it. It was so good I bought 2 specials, so I had 4 batteries. Well a little over a year late,r 3 of the 4 batteries indicate needs to be replaced. 1 still charges fine. However it was not available when I needed it. So I went and grabbed my 8 year old Sears Craftsman (I think 14.4V) and that baby hummed. I have never replaced either battery for it. Now that is Quality. I find it hard to go out and Pay $119.00 for replacement batteries that will go bad in a year. If it was 1 out of 4, I would says okay, but 3 out of 4 really shows poor something....Just saying!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good System I have had the DeWalt 18v system for over a decade now and used them in commercial construction application as well as residential construction too. As with any battery system, you will have to buy new batteries at some point, its a fact of nature. I have owned Ryobi One+ system too and I can't help but fall back on the DeWalt system. If you can buy the 2 pack for under $90 or $100, then buy it!! Charge them up, good to go. I always tend to run them down to nothing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, so I got a defective pair... I always keep a "stable" of 6 batteries in my truck to work the various cordless tools. I retired two older batteries and bought a duel pack to replace them. I put them on a charge and noticed that one of the batteries would not take a charge. The other did, but it did not hold a charge for long. I returned them and the new set work fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery I bought a 1/4" impact driver in August of 10. I was leary of buying something with NiCad batteries since I had a 1/4" Porter Cable who's charge would only last about an hour. I bought the tool with the XRP because of price and the reviews I had read. When I got it, the battery lasted even longer than a friend's Makita impact driver with the Li-ion battery. The charge with the XRP's go a long time before needing a charge, around 7 to 8 hours for me. They also recharge quickly, usually in about 30 minutes or less

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Lithion DO NOT BUY LITHIUM. You will get a better life from the XRP at half the price and twice the life. No special charger needed and it is heavy enough to keep your drill standing up.
