Description

This ready-to-assemble aluminum frame kit creates a unique decorative privacy wall. The frame is designed for indoor or outdoor use and is designed to hold three 2' x 4' decorative privacy panels (Sprig or Morse) sold separately. The kit includes: 2 H-post, 2 top and bottom rails, 2 middle rails, surface mount kit, caps and hardware.

Can the frame be cut to hold only 2 panels instead of 3

Do you sell the line post for the middle? I want to order 2 kits to cover 8x6 area but not sure if there will be a gap or the end posts can act like the line posts for extending it?

We love your kit but here is my problem. We have an existing guard rail and would like to install a 2’ section only over the handrails for privacy. We need 4 posts (2’high) caps, tops and bottom rails. Hope you have a solution.

Why can a product like this not be made with pre-drilled holes? Not everyone has what is needed for these. Most products these days do not require buying a drill and multiple bits and screws.

I love these panels but would like to mount these in the ground rather than on concrete. Is this doable or do I need different posts?

Hi, This Frame Kit cannot be installed directly into the ground. It must be fixed to a solid surface. It doesn't have to be installed on concrete, but it should be a surface strong enough to support its weight and wind. However, in Canada, when you install any type of fence into the ground. You must make concrete cylinder forms. These should be as deep as the frost line in your area. Otherwise, the year after, your installation will no longer be leveled. Thank you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used for patio where pony wall wast tall enough [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lots of drilling to put the cross slats on the square upright beams, buy 10 extra drill bits for 4 sets as you will hit the aluminum t sections on the cross beams and snap a bit, I broke 8 bits doing the project using a drill motor. They look nice when fully assembled. If you are doing to do three uprights connected, you will need 4 kits as you will be short 2 cross slats and the top for your final. This will leave you with two square metal uprights when you get done. Privacy is only about 60 percent, but it should help with wind loading if you live in an area with strong winds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Construction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got 3 of these panels to cover an ugly heat pump and power area in our basement (pics taken outside before we carried it in, due to lighting - pics are frame kit and the panels).The frame kit contains two steel uprights and the required vinyl cross pieces, as well as installation hardware and caps. While we installed this inside, I would not hesitate for an outdoor installation. The frame is well coated and sturdy enough to hold the panels in wind. Inside, this has a finished look that blends nicely with the modern decor in our TV room. It’s also still light enough that two of us can move it if access to the electrical unit and HVAC panel is required.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate it. I broke 4 drill bits trying to drill pilot holes for the screws. The plans say to leave an 1/8" gap for the panels to expand but now the whole thing "Racks" moves side to side. What a waste of money , I'll leave it at the curb for the city to come pick it up and I'll make my own out of wood. I'm 66 and an experienced DIY-er but this was the worst project I ever put together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdoor Screen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This aluminum outdoor privacy screen is well built and large enough to really be a privacy screen. The hardest part is deciding where to place it. The black color looks great. You can actually use this screen inside. Either way, it is a quality product and includes everything you need to install it. Because it is made of aluminum, it looks heavy but is not so most people would be able to handle it with no problem. If you want a stylish solution inside or out, this product will do it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy installation We bought the barrette frame kit, frame extension kit and 6 panels (2’x4’). Our space was only 7.5 feet not 8, so we had to cut the panels and the extension kit. Cutting than panels and the kit was easy with a table saw. Installation was quick and easy. Hardest part is drilling the holes into the frame kit as the holes are not pre drilled. We broke 2 bits doing this. Overall love the look for a great price. Whole project took 3 hours to set up with half that time due to having to cut the kit and panels. Would recommend!

But, for that you will require extra horizontal rails. You can buy these separately in the US but Rona does not stock them. Don't be mislead by the advertising and don't purchase unless your application uses single units.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks nice, but not as sturdy as I'd hoped [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just finished assembling this frame. I looks great on our deck, but it was a hassle to put together by myself (a 5' tall female). For the price of this frame, I cannot believe the holes are not predrilled. I've assembled quite a few pieces of furniture, play kitchens, train tables, bunk beds, but this was the most work. I broke two drill bits in the process of assembling. And like the other review said, it wobbles back and forth because the instructions say to leave a 1/8" between the panel and the rails. I haven't attached the base yet because I'm afraid drilling 8 holes (4 for each base plate) into our new composite deck isn't going to be enough to hold it steady. So right now it's propped up with our grill and attached to our deck railing with some metal ties as a temporary solution. It does a good job of providing privacy though, so at least there's that.

Tools needed are a mallet, drill, 1/8 drill bit, Phillips bit and tape measure. You must buy panels to go with it. Them come in lots of colors and styles. Looks beautiful. Pros easy to install, looks great and minimal tools required Cons you need 3 panels to complete the look, and must be attached to a surface for long term use.
