Description

This Bosch stainless steel chimney range hood combines sleek style and modern functionality. The ventilation system efficiently pulls air up to a 600 CFM airflow and efficiently clears smoke and odours. The electronic touch controls and the LCD screen make it easy to set the timer or select one of the 4 venting speeds. An overheating protection system automatically switches to the highest ventilation setting when the heat goes up. The range can easily be converted into a non-ducted range using a recirculating kit including a charcoal filter (sold separately).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Diana from Great product We were ready to purchase our entire kitchen (Thermador) when we realized that they do not make a 30" low profile island hood ( but we installed it on a wall ). Our alternative was the Bosch. This hood has a very modern and sleek design. It is light in weight and easy to install. I installed it myself by the time my husband came home from work. It came very well protective packaged and also had that protective foil which is best to remove after installation to prevent any scratches. The appliance came with very explicit instructions and also a template that is very handy when you do an one person install. It has very good suction, which is what this product is supposed to do; it gets louder with the highest level, but not annoyingly loud. I did install it directly to an external wall which I understand can help with the noise. After the install I still had a towel in the air duct to prevent any creatures to get inside the house, I knew it but I still turned the hood on to test and the towel flew about 18 feet across the driveway. I am only giving 4 Stars on the Design because the Timer feature has no influence on the functions of the exhaust hood. After you select the desired duration for the hood the Timer feature only makes an audible sound once and End appears on the display. It would have been Excellent if the Timer feature would have turned off automatically the hood. Overall, great product.

I do a lot of sous vide cooking and the sear creates a significant amount of smoke. This hood has such power it carries the smoke outside with no trouble at all. No moreworries about smoke alarms!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Justin from Powerful blower! I am very happy that we purchased all Bosch appliances for our new home. The Bosch range hood is very handsome - I love the European look and feel. We have a very open floor plan and this hood takes care of any smells.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PeterV from Not recommended for recirculation set up This is an attractive unit, which I have set up in re-circulation mode. It performs relatively well at low speeds (setting 1 or 2 out of 4). At high speeds (settings 3 and 4), there are several major performance problems. First, the noise is unreasonably loud; you can't carry on a conversation. The installer indicated that it would be a little quieter if the unit is exhausted to the outside. Second, at high speeds, the exhaust at the top of the chimney creates a back draft that causes the cooking smoke to be pulled away from the hood and directed into the kitchen. The installer said this might also be solved with venting to the outside. For these two reasons, the hood has limited functionality in the re-circulation mode; it works okay at low speeds, but not at high speed settings.

We had a professional install it and he said it was a very bad design, especially getting the extensions around the fan. It requires an 8 Inch opening. Make sure there's enough space for the opening. Worst is, it's been only 2 months and the stainless is already looking warped out. See attached pictures. Also, they come with yellow halogen light. Looks ugly. Very Disappointed with this product. I don't think I'll buy a Bosch anymore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After decades of putting up with a pop-up vent, we finally replaced our dated kitchen appliances -- with Bosch, of course, including the box chimney hood. I love its fan with variable speeds and the light that is bright and adds brilliance to an otherwise dim corner. Its features make everyday and special-day cooking so much easier. Love, love, love it!

The CFMs on this incredible albeit loud but that's to be expected for how much power there is. The LED lighting is great and other than that pretty simple design which is a good thing since too many things overcomplicate devices these days. The only thing I'd caution you against is to make sure to be VERY careful with the stainless steel when installing as it is prone to scratching. Follow the instructions or force your contractors to.
