Description

Keep the air in your kitchen clean with this Broan under cabinet range hood. With a sleek stainless steel finish, it complements other kitchen appliances. A pair of halogen lights brighten the cooktop, to provide an unobstructed view of your work area. This stainless steel under cabinet range hood uses the Captur venting system, which pulls smoke and odours out of the area at an impressive rate of 375 CFM. Simple push-button controls offer a straightforward operation and a choice between three available blower speeds. Air passes through removable and washable microfilters, that capture grease and other particles. Generating only 2.0 sones at normal speed, this slim under cabinet range hood allows the kitchen to stay quiet. EZ 1 brackets make installation simple, even for one person.

I just bought a BKSM130SS, which showed 375 CFMs online. Box, however, only has a sticker over a 300 CFM rating and hood itself has a sticker with 260 CFM rating. I would appreciate knowing what the correct rating is. Specs seem to be misrepresented.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jaws2 from Failed after 3 weeks 3 weeks after installation, both halogen bulbs stopped working. Broan customer service directed me to the closest repair shop. Unfortunately it is 45 minutes away. So 1.5 hours round trip to drop it off and another 1.5 hours to pick it up. The repair shop told me that they do a lot of replacement of cheaply made circuit boards. I was also told the circuit board would take 1-2 weeks to arrive from Broan. Also not happy that we won't have a fan over the stove for the next few weeks. My last Broan Allure lasted 10 years without problems. We replaced it with the BKSM130SS to match new SS appliances. Wishing we kept the old one now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LJ22 from Powerful, quiet and good-looking Installed the range hood about a months ago and very happy so far. We cook good-sized meals on the gas stove almost daily and the ability to maintain clean air in the house is very important to us. 1. Selection - choose the hood based on the CFM and the fact that it could be installed 18" - 24" from the stovetop. Other makes require 27" or even 30", which would make the over-the-range cabinet tiny and hard to reach and allow the smoke to escape into the house. 2. Installation - fairly straight forward, just followed the enclosed instructions. Connected to the 4" diameter exhaust. Had to tweak the damper assembly just a little, to make sure that it opens and closes freely when the hood is turned on and off. 3. Exhaust capabilities - very good; using the 2nd speed most of the time; the 3rd - only when cooking something really smoky. No issues with cooking smells in the house or setting of the fire alarm (we had those issues with the old range hood). 4. Noise - very quiet even at the highest speed. 5. The adjustable 2-mode LED light is very helpful when cooking in the evening. 6. Look - modern without overdoing it.
