Broil King® Baron S490 Natural Gas BBQ - 40,000 BTU is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 65.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stainless steel is not a stainless steel I bought my Baron S490 two years ago. Quality in general is good, but...yes, unfortunetely there is "but". For that kind of money I would actually expect Nobel metals to be used. My grill stay most of the year under the cover. On top of that it is covered with Broil King fit cover. Of course, because of that general conditions are pretty good. The question is: what exactly type of stainless steel Broil King use for Flav-R-Wave? I have found so far only two stainless steel parts in my grill, door grip and gas pipe. Perhaps anybody from Broil King could explain why you cheat your customer? I don't see any reason why should I pay 100eur after two years to replace them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Barbecue - Minor Assembly Issue This unit had everything I wanted in a new barbecue. I've only had the chance to use it a few times so far but it has definitely met or exceeded my expectations. I did have a problem with the assembly as the interior support does NOT line up with the pre-drilled holes and I had to drill two new holes in the bottom of the cabinet in order to do the install. What's up with that? I don't like "all picture" instructions and would likely have had a much more difficult time with assembly but for a truly wonderful step-by-step video on youtube. Gotta love youtube. :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Assembly Parts I'm halfway thru putting this thing together. IMO it's a very poorly designed assembly process. There are lots of parts and the sheet metal screws provided must pass thru two and three pieces of metal to hold pieces together. In many area's the holes don't line up very well and the angles required to use the screw drivers necessary to put it together are extremely tight making it virtually impossible to securely join some of the parts. Several of the screw heads have stripped making it even more frustrating. I think they should have designed the unit using lock nuts and bolts to hold it together rather than the screws. I just hope once I get through putting it together the performance of the grill is better than poorly designed assembly parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Believe the hype not the poor reviews My grill is 4 years old. I live in Florida and use my Barron 2x a week and only recently had to replace one of the burners. People complaining about rusted grill grates don’t understand how to season cast iron or maintain seasoned cast iron grates. As for the peeling or flaking on the inside of the cover, that ain’t paint. It’s grease and smoke deposits that are non toxic but totally avoidable if you clean it a couple of times a year. I want to upgrade but my Barron is holding up too well. Best grill I’ve ever owned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best BBQ to date! I was a little hesitant to pay more than a couple hundred dollars on a bbq. But after looking at the competition, I soon realised that the Baron was packed with goodies for a fraction of the price and an awesome warranty! Ajusting the cooking temp is a little tricky since the burners are so powerful, compare to what I'm used to, but the first steaks I cooked on this grill were seared to perfection and cooked to my gf high standards!! :) So yes! We love our new Baron 490S and we can not wait to use the rotisserie!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good grill - Has some issues I like the grill overall. Has good features for the money. I have two issues. The main one and most important is that the grilling surface temperature varies quite a bit with some areas, much hotter than others. I have to keep moving multiple burgers and steaks around so that they all cook the same and come off at the same time. The other issues is that the side panel where you hang tools is plastic, (apparently cheap plastic). I hung a tool on it and when I went to remove the fork, the leather hanging string caught and the plastic hook just ripped right off, actually cracked the plastic. Tried to glue with Krazy glue and epoxy no use... now I have a very new grill with a piece cracked off right away.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible grill Poor quality components makes this grill simply awfull to assemble. Not does many screws and fasteners have lousy threads, some where even missing. The grill itself with rotisseri heats up quickly and gives a lot of heat. Unfortunately one the reasons I bought this grill, the flavorizer bars, doesn’t work as expected. I assumed they would minimize the risk of fat catching fire. But in fact the opposite happens. Twice when using the rotisseri and with the two middle burners turned of the meat has cought fire. I with I had bought a Weber grill again

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent grill BUT burners are all rusted out. I love this grill and wish I can use it for many many years. I have it well maintained and under Broil King cover BUT!!! Inside of burner box is all rusted our. Collector box is falling apart and burners have holes and therefore burn unevenly. I maintain the grill regularly and do a major restoration every season. This season I wanted to replace burners as they completely unusable due to rust, but found that it is impossible to remove them. I hope Broil King will stand by their 10 years warranty. Will update my review accordingly based on results.
