Rated 1 out of 5 by Harvey from A Piece of Junk Our old GE Profile microwave was twenty years old when we replaced it. In twenty years, we never had a repairman in. With our new GE Cafe microwave, we’ve had a repairman three times in our first six weeks! The first time, the convection fan went. The second time was a diagnosis and to order a part. The third time was to replace the part— this time, the exhaust fan. Each failure was accompanied by the sound of a railroad locomotive! The fans now do work, but are very loud and therefore annoying. Be sure to read lots of reviews before you buy. If you buy, get as long a repair contract as you can, and don’t pay too much for the machine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ChefJoker from Good, but not great After almost two months with a Cafe suite of this, range, dishwasher, and fridge, this is the weakest link. The Bluetooth connectivity between the range and microwave is hit or miss, often losing its connection without any warning (we want the light and fan to come on when the burners are on). We have to reset it nearly once per week, and even then the combination of the fan and light do not always turn on properly. The unit should be wifi enabled to allow for smart cooking like the range and other mainline GE microwaves. The only reason why we purchased it was to match our suite. For what this cost, it is an annoying glitch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by appletree from I do not recommend this product When we use the convection oven, left top of the oven becomes very hot (out side of the oven), and smell like burning wood. We called the store and the manufacture, they sent people for investigation. The investigators said that they never seen like this case, and the installation had been done correctly, so said there is something wrong with the oven itself. They reported about it to the office, but the manufacture responded there is nothing wrong with the product, and said the case sometimes occur. Only time was spent to get this answer without solving any problems. We are worried if it will get fire when we are baking. If we knew this issue before buying, we would never bought this oven.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pinklemm from It's pretty This is very pretty as it's stainless on the inside and not black or white like regular microwaves. The downside is it doesn't have number buttons so you are held to the 15 second intervals. Sometimes I just want to make something for 20 seconds but can't. I also don't love that you have to push the start button two times for it to work. Why? I've read the manual and can't find a reason for it or an option to only push once. The hood and light buttons on the bottom are also almost impossible to push. And I have to try about 3 times to get the buttons to work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RBJA from Poor Design I’m very disappointed with this microwave. Especially for the price. The control panel is not user friendly. You can only enter times in 15 minute increments. The knob to set the time is cumbersome. The worst part is because I purchased all stainless steel the handle gets extremely hot when I have the stove top burners on. Isn’t there some kind of material that attracts heat less. I bought this because it is the same style as my cafe range that I love. I should have looked at the reviews on this before I purchased it. Many reviews said the same. Not sure if I really want To keep it.

We are still learning to use some of the features that we haven’t had on a microwave before but so far it’s been a great experience. I do miss having an actual number pad to dial in a more precise time but I also haven’t noticed that I’m over or under cooking something as long as I’m close to my desired time... not really an issue, just getting over the habit of entering numbers rather than turning the dial for time. It’s almost Thanksgiving and we’re hoping to put it through the paces. I’m sure it will stand up and we’ll love it just as much as our other Cafe appliances.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sofla2001 from Works ok + has grill We had a rather new LG that was huge and we loved but it had no fan in it. Just finished a large remodel job and needed a microwave with a fan. We never did get the matching range as we’d waited for it on order since July 2021 (writing this March 2022). So it’s disappointing there, too. The microwave does work well but the wattage is also lower than what we are used to. I actually kept the LG and use it often. This has a grill in it which I haven’t seen since the Oster microwave with grill we had when we lived in our sailboat a couple of decades ago. Neat little feature but not getting much use on land.

Rated 1 out of 5 by psaa from Broken Handle Not quite five years old. Already in house when purchased. Door handle broke away from connection inside the door. (Lower) As mentioned in at least one other review, only entire door assembly available. Unacceptable for an obviously weak part. I've no choice but to glue the handle back in place somehow. A kludge repair at best. If I replace, I will never buy a GE. Things like broken handles should be fixable for a reasonable price.
