The photos for this saw show 2 different models which one is it? 455 Rancher or the 435?

Asked by: RS68
The cc's match the 435 so i assume that it what it is. The picture is just wrong for this model. Why they don't advertise the correct model #, i don't know.

can you put a 20" bar on this saw (and/or 18" bar)??

Asked by: woodcutter11
18 yes , but 20 in theory, but you wouldn't cut much.

Chainsaw Gas 435 - 16'' - 40.9 cc - is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 189.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good little saw I have been running this saw on mesquite for nine years with no more than performing preventive maintenance on it. I wish the oiler put out a touch more oil, but it doesn't burn the bar up. I've only replaced the bar once when it finally grooved enough to start kicking the chain off. Great little saw that doesn't wear me out after running it all day like my big Stihl does. As for the complaint review for his saw not starting, if you do not follow Husky's starting procedure, it will flood instantly. If there is a legitimate complaint, Husky will fix your saw, read the manual instead of just saying you know how to start a chainsaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Husqvarna 435e chainsaw - working just fine No complaints so far (haven't had it very long). Followed starting instructions and it started right up. Used it to cut up a large windfall bradford pear and it worked just fine. Light weight enough to move around a lot doing the limbing (always the most tiring part) and it went right through 8-10 inch main trunk. All in all good power for the weight. I've been happy with my orange weed eater & leaf blower so I'm hoping for the same w/ the chainsaw. Using Sta-bil and hopefully it will continue to perform well. 4 stars because it doesn't come with a case or even a permanant bar/chain cover. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little but mighty saw for the homeowner Got this a couple of weeks ago to clean up dead, fallen and nuisance trees around the property and I have used it twice putting a tank full of gas and chain oil through it both times. It started cold just like they said it would. I had no problem at all starting it when it was warm. I puled the choke tab out and lifted the leaver. Then I pushed the leaver bake down to the run position. This puts it in the high idle mode. If it didn't start on the first pull, I put the choke leaver back up and it fired on the next pull. Put the choke leaver back to run and we where of to the races again. A good quality saw for the price. I would buy it again

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Still haven't cut a log with it Received as a father's day gift June of 2019. Never took it out of the box till April 2020. Saw would start and idle fine, but couldn't get any RPMs on the top end. Would bog and eventually die. Start right back up and repeat. Talked to a couple dealers within striking distance and they all wanted nothing to do with the saw. Contacted Husqvarna customer service via email, took 32 days to get a response. Their advice was to take it to "the authorized dealer in my area". Dropped the saw off at the dealer 4 weeks ago, "haven't had a chance to look at it yet". Still haven't cut as much as a limb off a tree with it. Crap service at the corporate and dealership levels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Husqvarna shines through again! After buying a Craftsman 20" model, and having a sluggish, very poor performance; not to mention it wouldn't start after I turned it off after a few cuts, I went out and bought this model of Husqvarna chainsaw. This thing outperformed the other by a mile. Ran better, ran faster, and cut better without getting bogged down like the Craftsman did. Had no issues with re-starts, and it cut like a hot knife through butter. I did use the recommended Husqvarna pre-mixed fuel and opted to not go with the separate fuel/oil mixture. Totally worth it, because the 50:1 ratio makes this baby run like a scalded dog, especially with Husqvarna's pre-mixed solution.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I bought one of these 3 years ago. It's been in the shop 3 times for carburetor problems. I always use the expensive premix fuel because it won't start at all with gasoline/oil mix. It is still very hard to start and keep running. I take it to the shop and they keep it for a week or two and it will start and run good for a while then gradually goes down hill. Luckly I have a 15 year old Poland wood shark for a back up that has NEVER faild to start and run perfect. I'm in southeast Louisiana with a Hurricane coming through and (you guessed it) SAW WON"T START

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome saw i have been using this saw for several years now, pretty regular use each fall and winter. It is performing as good as it did brand new. It is light enough to use all day and not get too fatigued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best saw I've ever used I'm 62 year old and have used most every saw that's ever been made . This has to be the best saw that I have ever used. I just cut up a 30' 12" oak today with no problems and didn't even use a tank of gas!
