Coffee Grinder - 12 Cups - Stainless Steel/Black is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 124.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great appliance, but... Best grinder I've ever used. As a guy who really needs to measure any items relating to food, the cup tick marks on the bowl are much appreciated and have delivered accurate measurements to assure good coffee reliably. But... the plastic at the base of the steel bowl has broken twice now, for 2 different users (wife and I) with no rough handling. The first time I was able to superglue the piece back on and that worked fine. Today the plastic broke at an entirely different spot and into many pieces. I'll replace the part and keep using the grinder, but it's a disappointing weak spot apparently. Hence only 4 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2 years & grinds my coffee like Day 1 I continue to use this coffee grinder 1 to 2 times a week. I am happy to say it continues to work like new. My only issue is that I cannot fill the bowl to the high mark of the bowl. When I do, some beans do not get ground. Not a big deal, I just grind less than 12 cups at any one time. Otherwise, I have not experienced the problems that others have written in their reviews. One thing is certain, some seem to have not read the instructions. One writer said that they pulse grind like the instructions say. The instructions specifically says Do Not Pulse Grind. I like this grinder & I recommend it highly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beware the per cup markings Just got a BCG1110B a few days ago. We replaced the coffee pot at the same time. It took me a few days to check the fill lines and compare them to what it says in the user manual. I found that the 12 cup mark is 18 tablespoons, not 14 as it says in the manual. In fact all of the lines are for a number of tablespoons equal to 1.5 x number of cups. (I checked with several measuring device) Also note that the 8 to 10 distance and 10 to 12 distance are both one cm so it is unlikely the volume differences would be 3 and 2 tbsp. Anyway, it is easy to adjust, and I like being able to pour the coffee into grinder rather than count coffee scoops. Just beware, and perhaps the user manual can be updated or the markings on the grinder corrected in the next redesign.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken bottom on grinding cup. This would be a great grinder if there wasn't so much cheap plastic stuff on it. When you open the box it feels heavy and you'd think with a name like Kitchen Aid that was once synonymous with quality that it would last lifetimes, just like their mixers do. Alas, I've had this thing for less than a year and the plastic base/cup that screws the grinding cup onto the motor base has chipped off and fallen apart. I'm a pretty gentle user, and I only grind coffee maybe once a week, so it's not like it's undergoing heavy use here. Now the grinding cup can't be secured to the motor and this thing is little more than a loud expensive paperweight just taking up space in my kitchen. I am really disappointed with Kitchen Aid on this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KitchenAid Coffee Grinder This is a great grinder/. I especially like the removable grinding chamber. My wife uses this grinder to grind flax seeds and it does a superb job of this. Coffee beans are no match for flax seeds when it comes to grinding them. Grinding coffee in this grinder is a snap. The built in gradations on the side of the grinding chamber. make it easy to grind just the right amount to enjoy coffee your way every time. Great product..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 oz Onyx Black Coffee Grinder Pros: VERY quiet. Does an even grind of beans even though we fill the cup all the way. It's easy to clean since the cup and top are dishwasher friendly. Other grinders we've used tended to spill grounds when pouring whereas this grinder makes it easy to not spill. It's the best non-burr grinder we've ever used. Cons: No cord storage. It would have been nice to have a groove on the bottom where we could wrap the cord to secure and store it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems good for the money The first one I bought was missing some screws that hold it together - it literally fell apart as I was removing it from the box. I took that back to the store and exchanged it for another one - that one was fine. I guess there will always be a few bad units that slip through quality control at the factory... After opening the box, you'll be able to tell in seconds if you have the same problem I did - I never even got a chance to plug the first one in. The bowl is easy to remove, easy to clean, well marked, and has two ridges in it that do a pretty good job at keeping the coffee circulating back into the blades. The manual specifically says that it is not recommended to use this grinder to grind coffee for espresso makers - which I am using it for (I need a much finer grind than you would use for regular coffee). It works, but I would avoid grinding for too long at a time to prevent overheating. For normal coffee, I don't think there would be any heat issues at all. The only reason I can see that they would say that is because the motor would have to be on continuously for much longer than it would for a normal coffee grind. As far as ease of use - it can't get any simpler. Dump some beans in, press lid down (the entire lid acts as the switch - there are no moving parts on the lid), remove bowl. On the grinders I have used in the past, the lid was the bowl - you had to hold the grinder upside down then remove the lid. I like this set up better. You just remove the lid, then remove the bowl. It's less messy this way too. And you can clean the bowl without having to worry about getting the motor wet. No issues so far - it seems well made, and it seems like it ought to last a while.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Impressions Have had the product only a few days, so no long term info. However, I like the large capacity stainless cup that holds the beans for grinding. It doubles as a storage container to hold the ground beans for several days... I am not a heavy coffee drinker and make only small quantities at a time. With this grinder, I can grind several days worth and simply measure the ground coffee into the coffee maker. Cleaning the grinder happens only every few days and the removable grinding cup goes very nicely into the dishwasher. Seems like it would be a great companion to the single cup coffee makers that use ground coffee.
