Description

Prepare garden beds for planting or lawn areas for seeding with this Black and Decker cordless cultivator. It has counter-oscillating, 7" tines that prevent weeds from tangling, providing a maximum till depth of 4" and till width of 7". Rated 5 out of 5 by Alex from I love this thing! I'm a woman, 5'2", with arthritis. I'd given up gardening because I just couldn't till the flower beds any more. But with this little gizmo, I was able to work beds that had been neglected for a couple of years and get them ready for planting in very little time. What would have normally taken me a couple of hours of digging took less than 30 minutes and I wasn't even tired when I finished! I know some folks have complained about the short battery life but mine lasted the full 30 minutes, which was as long as I needed it. I plugged it into the charger when I was finished and went right back to work the next day. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jer from Excellent product A couple of weeks ago my 70 year old wife came in the house and said she just couldn't handle hoeing anymore in her flower beds (about 300 square feet) so I did some internet browsing and found this 20 watt cultivator. She is super happy with it, very easy to use, lite weight and has plenty of power. She did all the hoeing in a short time. I could only find the 20 watt model on Lowes website. Their store just stocks the 18 volt model. Arrived about 5 days after ordering, with free shipping. Couldn't be happier!

Not heavy duty enough to break new ground, but works great on weeding existing garden or flower beds. bad thing is battery life. I only get about 20-25 minutes out of new batteries. But i bought an extra and so get about 40-50 minutes. Which is about all I want to do at a time anyway. If you want to do more or break new ground, I suggest a small gas tiller or a gas weed-eater with a cultivator attachment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mark from A great time and back saver I am middle aged but still in decent shape. But all the hoeing/wedding was tough. I bought this with some skepticism, but I have used it for a month and I love it. Its a great cultivator, so it makes the plants healthier and watering more effective. And a superb weeder. I actually enjoy using it. Don't expect it to break up sod, its not made for that. In fact, if you torque it too much a clutch will kick in. But for ground that just needs maintenance its fantastic. Cost was great I thought, battery life is appx 1/2 hour but that's enough. It charges overnight. Its a tad front heavy, but some fatigue on the "gun hand" is easily relieved by switching paws. You will actually learn to use the weight for leverage. No worse than a string trimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gtttwo from Great Performance! It worked much better than I thought it would. Very good at breaking up the soil next to my plants so I can fertilize them. The pole is adjustable for people of different heights. Weight was fine for me but could be a little heavy for some.

It makes removing the undesirable grasses in your lawn a much more enjoyable task. Need to admend your soil? No problem with this cordless lightweight cultivaor. Sprinkle your materials on top of the soil, grab your Black & Decker Cordless 20 Volt Cultivator, press the trigger, and mix to your heart's content. The telescoping arm is a wonderful feature that accommodates various individuals heights. The lithium battery takes a good six hours to charge, so it is a good idea to have two on hand if you are tackling a large job. I liike that the battery is removed from the unit and charged seperately so that I can change the battery easily. The two blades, each having four fins, are attached with a cotter pin

Rated 4 out of 5 by Telecomnc from Good Product This is a great cultivator for small tilling. Worked perfect on my raised vegetable beds. Loosened the weeds and soil. Also good on spots in the yard that needed tilled and seeded. Agree with others that the battery is only good for about 20 minutes. But that was long enough for what I needed. I had no problem with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Robm from I'm impressed. I just got this cultivator today. I don't generally like to review anything after a day. But I used this little guy hard and long today. I already have two 1.5ah batteries from the B&D drill I got for my wife. So I didn't have to wait for the battery to charge, but while I was at the store I bought a 4ah battery for this tool as well thinking the 1.5ah battery wasn't going to be enough. For what I bought it for the 1.5ah battery is plenty for the 8ft by 4ft above ground planter box I made the wife and for it, it did great. But we ended up using it to level out where we had a raised planter that was 14ft by 14ft and it is all clay. Clay slows this poor tool down a lot but with the three 1.5ah and one 4ah I have it powered through it. We did far, far, far more with this tool and it's did it all with no issue. However I do highly recommend another battery, just get the 4ah battery and the better charger. I'm a little bummed it didn't come with a higher AH battery and better charger, but for the price point I can't complain.
