Craftsman Benchtop Jointer - 10 A is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is the Porter Cable with the Craftsmans badge [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this after i couldn't find the Porter Cable around anymore. Out of the box set up was easy. Fence angle is alitte touchy, but got it dailed in pretty good. This is the same jointer as the Porter Cable, B+D must own the Craftsman name now. Imo is a good thing. They also make Dewalt! Anyway read reviews for the Porter Cable and apply them to this jointer/planer. For the price point on this jointer im very happy so far. Don't know about long-term but today worked well. Only using as a jounter so far as i have a 13" planer. But i believe if i needed to plane somrthing real quick it would work fine. Great for budget small workshop!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Craftsman Jointer works well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Similar to one of the other reviews, bought it because the Porter-Cable was no longer offered. So far, I found it to be a good alternative. The instructions to set it up were straight forward and made it easy setup out of the box. I'd seen a lot of criticism of setting up other brand bench Jointers fences. The Craftsman on appearance looked similar to other makes fences. So I was concerned, but it turned out I had zero issues with my Craftsman. So far I’ve used the jointer for making a picture frame and joining a spruce two piece guitar top. Both pieces were under 3 feet. I would of given it a higher rating if I’d used it more, but so far so good it has met all my needs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent machine There are a lot of negative reviews on here for this jointer but it really works well. I used it first for some 2x6x88 pallet boards and it only struggled with it due to the table lengths. I made an extended in and out feed table and worked like a champ. There is a rotor lock that was probably the culprit for most of the negative reviews, it likes to bounce around a bit and seems dangerous. If it catches, the machine won’t work and then it’ll probably pop the internal circuit breaker. Not rocket science. But it is avoidable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died Twice Purchased at Lowe’s. One week later, it didn’t work at all. Swapped it for another. Two months later, this one dies mid board.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Making a keepsake box for my daughter and have some red oak logs that I board cut. I needed to plane and joint the red oak pieces of wood. I’m happy With the results of this jointer planer. Time will tell for long term use but I’m confident craftsman wood working tools.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but Not adjustable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this because Craftsman offers a 90 day money back guarantee. Couldn’t get the indeed and outfeed tables co-planer without some substantial diy-fabricating. From the shelf they peaked enough to prohibit running long ripped 2x4 boards. It caused concave results and will be upgrading. The quality outside of that issue was great and Craftsman’s customer service was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a mighty little jointer . I had been wanting to buy one without spending too much that would give me good results with my joinery . This little fella turned out to be the choice i was waiting for . it is a good size and heavy enough that handles long pieces of wood just fine and stays put without even being screwed down to the surface . The dust collector port is pretty convenient and takes the regular 2-2.25 inch hose from my shop vac with a good snug fit . i have had this for over 6 months now and no complains . I have not replaced the original blades yet and so far it looks pretty good. i dont use it that often so blades should still last. i have used these to join boards for table top and cutting boards and my results are much better now than what i was used to with the hand planes. the adjustable fence is great for angled planing and i use it sometimes to give clean smooth edged finish to projects . Overall i am happy with it and would recommend anyone looking for a good value dependable jointer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you never power it up, it won't break Purchased in February 2020. Did not used it for 4 months. It worked well for 1 project and died while jointing a board on second project. All boards were pine. Since no smoke was released, I will assume, without taking it apart, that the motor control board is no longer functioning. That part has been discontinued and may only be obtained through Craftsman/Delta/Porter Cable/, and there is no replacement. Now, according to Lowe's, I need to take the no longer functioning unit to Craftsman. According to Craftsman, I need to take it to the place of purchase (Lowe's). I will not be surprised if they will be saying that they can't fix it because of the chop suey fluey.
