Description

CRAFTSMAN 10-amp bench jointer with 6000 to 11000 RPM speed range features a heavy-duty motor that can cut through hard and soft woods. Two knife cutter head with jack screw knife levelling arrangement makes for easy knife replacements and adjustments, and ensures maximum stock removal. Built-in speed dial gives you a wide range of control, and 4.25-in center-mounted fence provides needed support throughout the cut for accurate edge jointing. Rated 1 out of 5 by john77303 from If you never power it up, it won't break Purchased in February 2020. Did not used it for 4 months. It worked well for 1 project and died while jointing a board on second project. All boards were pine. Since no smoke was released, I will assume, without taking it apart, that the motor control board is no longer functioning. That part has been discontinued and may only be obtained through Craftsman/Delta/Porter Cable/, and there is no replacement. Now, according to Lowe's, I need to take the no longer functioning unit to Craftsman. According to Craftsman, I need to take it to the place of purchase (Lowe's). I will not be surprised if they will be saying that they can't fix it because of the chop suey fluey.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mad Dad from SAD CRAFTSMAN TOOL I purchased mine on 9/29/2020, but was very busy and did not get it set up to use until 4/10/21. I did NOT read reviews before purchasing because it is a Craftsman brand and that used to stand for quality. I was edge jointing 1/2" thick pallet wood boards to build an accent wall and would estimate the machine had run about 3 1/2 hours (under load less than half that time) and only cutting 3/64" per pass. Machine was working fine and just stopped. We tested components and the failure is in the control circuit board. What a shame that Craftsman does not stand for quality any more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disgusted purchaser from It's junk When it worked it did great. BUT it just stopped starting. I was jointing the edge of a 2x4, turned it off for a second and that was the last time it started. Maybe had 2 hours of actual work done with it total. Incandescent light bulbs last longer. I don't see myself buying anything Craftsman again which is too bad since I thought they used to have quality products. Not anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by g.s. from bad solder joint on circuit board While inspecting the speed contoller circuit board, I noticed a broken solder joint at the gate lead of the triac. My guess is that this may have tested OK at the machine's time of production, but with a shake or two during normal use, the electrical connection became deteriorated. Both the triac (part number BTA26600B) and the 16-pin speed-control integrated circuit (U2010B) are no longer being made, but still can be found (with luck). The speed-control is a "soft-start" type, for universal motor (i.e. using carbon brushes).

Craftsman sent me a new one In sep 2021 this is dec 2021 an it stoped in the middle of a job an has not came back on . 3 months an it was always light duty on a plug an circuit by its self.

I used it on 3 boards and when I went to use my dust collection system, the jointer shut off and would not come back on. However, on the boards I worked on, it did do a wonderful job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by WTW87 from Dead I’ve used this product 3 times now. Just like so many others on the review board it does on me on the middle of a pass. Won’t turn back on at all. I cleaned it all up, vacuumed everything out and still nothing. I thought craftsman was making a comeback, nope I was wrong.
