Hi what's the run time on this product and what's the run time on different amp hour battery's and how do you sharpen the blades and is the quality good on this thing.

Works well, used it for our here approximately 2-21/2 hour+ and no problem with draining power on a a 2amp hr battery that came with the unit. Only have the one battery not familiar with other sizes. Haven’t needed to sharpen yet - haven’t looked to see how to sharpen but will certainly try YouTube. I feel it was a good investment for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ron from A little heavy, but less tiring than others I got this because both of my electric 'hand-held' hedge trimmers 'died'. With this, I no longer have to 'force my way' into the hedge and hold the trimmer at arm's length to try to trim near the house. With the longer reach and articulating head, I can easily trim the hedges near the house. I also use it to trim around the pond in just a few minutes (It used to take nearly an hour with a string trimmer). I can also trim under growth along my tree line without having to worry about being bitten by a snake. It is well worth the money. As far as the battery goes, I tend to give out or complete the task before the battery dies. No complaints at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MrsH from Works great but... I have really tall shrubs around my fence and house and really needed something to help me reach the top since I am not the tallest person. I tried to tackle them with a much smaller, electrical trimmer in the past and had to use a step ladder to reach the top. The cord was always a pain so I wanted something with a battery. This does the trick with reaching the tops of my shrubs and I love the rechargeable battery. Setup was super easy but it can get pretty heavy. I have to constantly shift it back and forth between each hand to give my arms and especially my shoulders a break. That is the only con so far which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pete from Good tool but should be longer Good: This thing is a beast at cutting, much better than I expected from a battery powered hedge trimmer. I picked the Craftsman V20 because I have several other tools from this line which means plenty of backup power for longer jobs without having to pay for another battery or two. It has some weight to it, but that’s cause its a power tool, not a butter knife. Bad: It is much shorter (about 2ft) than a lot of comparably priced pole hedge trimmers. With the way it goes together, it should be easy for craftsman to have an option for another extension, but that is not available to my knowledge. This would be a 5 star tool if it were longer. Total length of the tool from end to end is about 6ft. Other brands extend to 8ft.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Davidinretirement from 11 foot reach misleading Purchased it November 10, 2020 and used it for first time same day. From the on/off trigger to tip of blade is 72 inches and so I believe the claim of an 11 foot reach (a major reason for my purchase) to be misleading. With the battery installed it weights 8 to 8 1/4 pounds with a centre of gravity about where the two poles connect together. When the held vertically it is not overly awkward to use but the weight becomes noticeable when it is held at an angle. I'm very disappointed in the "reach" and have no understanding how an 11 foot reach can be legitimately claimed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DanD from Got the job done Bought it yesterday used it today. Trimming my mangroves. A bit heavy and didn’t reach that much further than my four foot electric trimmer. It really did the job on the high stuff though, and getting the mangroves trimmed from my Jon boat. Just what I needed. I was concerned about the 20 volt vs. a lot others (more expensive) at 40 volts, but it cut everything I needed it to cut including some (a few) at the 3/4 inch max. I’m exhausted from the job but so far I am pleased with my new helper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ClubA from Understanding the specified 11’ reach 8’ 11” is the maximum shrub height you can trim with blade at 90° if you are 5’ 10” tall (adjust for your height). Similarly, if you are only trimming the sides (with the blades straight), add 18” for a maximum reach of 10’ 5” - with no capability to trim the top. I solved my problem by cutting the hedge height to 8’ 11”. That issue clarified, the unit performed well and the 20 V battery capacity seemed excellent. For trimming my lower and deeper hedges, I preferred it to my heavier, 40V 20” trimmer (no pole and which is necessary to trim rounded bushes). With the pole-blade straight and sweeping it in wide arcs, the results were more even and level. With the blade at 90°, curved sides were easily trimmed successfully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SA45601 from Surprised, Why didn't I buy this sooner! After years of ladder climbing to top hedges, I found this tool that made my job soooo much easier. Easy to put together, but when I started it, it didn't seem to have much power compared to my electric trimmer. When I actually started trimming it trimmed faster than the electric. I was surprised. This trimmer cut my time in half and the battery was almost fully charged after about an hour of use. A tool well worth the money.
