CRAFTSMAN V20 Cordless Weedwacker string trimmer/edger kit comes with a 10-in width, 0.065-in diameter cutting swath with automatic line feed system so you can fully take care of the trimming task instead of bumping the feed spool. I picked it up late Saturday from a hardware store along with the leaf blower (combo package), charged a battery (it took about two hours), plugged it to the leaf blower, tried it once for a few seconds, and was pleased with the power for just blowing grass and leaves off the sidewalk. It was late, so I went to bed with the battery attached to the blower. The next morning the battery was completely dead. Took it back to the store and returned it. The man at the store said that a leaf blower and weed trimmer should have at least a 40 volt. Even a 20 volt, though, should remain charged overnight when it is not used.

The cartoon-like pictures in the owner's manual are of zero help. The feeding mechanism is not reliable ... or I'm a complete idiot. I'm willing to concede that operator error might be part of the problem ... but I've watched how-to reload videos on YouTube ... I'm not doing any different than what they recommend ... If you have some free time and feel like you missed out on your share of day-to-day first world frustration, then I highly recommend this product. It'll have you pulling you hair out (or the hair of the person(s) closest to you) in no time flat. An then take a long hot shower .... you're gonna need it

I took the cover off and removed the spool to find that there is a little black clip under where the spool is placed that has broken off, and now the little broken clip just spins in circles. This happened after just a few uses and I cannot find a replacement spool head anywhere (online or in stores). I don’t know why this model doesn’t have a replacement head assembly anywhere when I’ve found one for the CMCST920 and CMCST960 series. All I can find is the cover alone, but no complete assembly. I’ve taken a lot of hits to my legs as I continue using it, but can’t finish the whole job in one session since the line never stops feeding and it breaks off as it rapidly hits the guard.

The string either doesn't come out at all or it all comes out and wraps around the head numerous times. I tried brand new spool(s) of line and got the same results. I expected the trimmer to last longer, it is a Craftsman. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing, because it appears the problem I have is similar to what others have experienced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Busted bro from Not good bro Purchased this trimmer last fall, never had the chance to use it... busted it out the other day for the first time and a little black clip in the head decided to bust right off...I assume it's what prevents the spool from spinning as it runs because now it just constantly feeds line while in use rendering this thing useless.

Just got mine used it 2 times and have to stop pull the cover off bottom and manually stick the line out so is mine just broke from the start or how do I get the auto feed to start working? I literally just bought this thing and it's annoying toanuallt feed the string when I'm not supposed to have to!?

Now the inside portion of the trimmer head has a piece that broke off. This causes the trimmer line to eject all at once. I'd like to just replace the trimmer head but can't seem to find a replacement. These reviews say the same thing about no ability to find a replacement head.

I bought it from Lowes Grandview last night and let it charge over night in anticipation of using it tonight. After a full night of charging, I got maybe ~30 minutes or so of working time out of it? This is very inefficient. I am now sitting here waiting to charge it up enough to finish the job I wanted to have done in an hour which may take like 3 or 4 now counting waiting time. Horrible. Though I feel like the easiest fix would be a longer lasting battery because I didnt have the problems other people did.
