Description

This mechanic-style set features 224 SAE and metric 1/4" - 3/8" parts for all your household and automotive needs. Each socket has large markings for a quick size identification. The 72-tooth ratchet offers minimal arc swing when fastening, while the hex sockets offer increased torque with the fastener. Sockets are covered with a fully polished chrome finish for superior corrosion resistance. Furthermore, a blow-molded 3-drawer storage case makes it easy to transport tools and gives them an exceptional durability. In addition to ratchet drivers, this kit includes 22 shallow 1/4" sockets, a 2 driver extension bars, 20 deep 1/4" sockets, 26 shallow 3/8" sockets and 20 deep 3/8" sockets. This set comes with Craftsman's full lifetime warranty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nickoftime from Great value on variety and size of ratchets [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The number of sockets in each driver series is excellent. Hand wrenches strong. The case is clever in drawers, however I give a 4 instead of 5 for overall case design. The little wing flaps on the front left and right that keep the draws in place is a press fit that after repeated uses will fail to stay closed. Once that happens , and it will The drawers will fall out. Suggest augmenting with a threaded rod through all drawers with wing nut once that happens. The front is open a hing of plastic, metal or wood with flat clasp will eventually be needed, the tools will out last the case. Beautiful chrome, nice machining. Real value otherwise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chris from Great tool set [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this is a great tool set. I had a craftsman set that was smaller than this that was stolen. I initially purchased a Kobalt set but exchanged it for this Craftsman set because the quality wasn't there. The case is plastic but seems durable enough. There is a small section in the top compartment you can add some tools to, but it isn't like the full empty drawer that was available in the Kobalt 227 piece set. Two things I don't like about it are allen wrenches and the security of the sockets in the case. The allen wrenches are a flimsy set and are just 2 sets of the smaller sizes in SAE and Metric, so chances are you will need to purchase a better set. As far as the security of the sockets in the case, if you tip this thing over, the sockets in the lower 2 drawers are likely to shift around and you may be completing a tool inventory when you least expect it. Still, I would recommend this tool set for the quality and quantity of tools.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Al from Great organization box but Cheap finish [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used craftsman 38 yrs and the finish on these is the worst I have ever seen. I hope the metal is quality so the sockets don’t all break. The plastic organizer is nice but would be nice to have a drawer for other tools not in the set. I got a low budget set for a low price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rick from Great tool kit for sockets [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are a bunch of tool sets out there, many with a bunch of little items you already have or will seldom use. After looking at several sets, this set impressed me for the price given the large number of sockets included. Over the years I've managed to misplace a few sockets in various corners of the house, plus I thought it was time for something new. And of course these are Craftsman tools, which have performed extremely well for me over many, many years. I've had my original sets of Craftsman ratchets and sockets since the 70's and they'll obviously last forever! Some reviewers have complained about the case that comes with it being too fragile, and i suppose it is if you plan to toss it around frequently. But with reasonable care (e.g., you pick it up, carry it, use the tools and set it down without throwing it across the parking lot to your truck), it should hold up fine. I also like the "drawers" that are part of the case. When I don't need to carry the tools around, the drawers line up nicely in the top of my garage tool box and keep everything nicely organized... and then are easy to slide back into their plastic case if I need to take them someplace. I highly recommend this tool set if it contains the tools you need.
