Rated 4 out of 5 by Jess from Affordable gas alternative for lighter jobs Bought this to clear some larger downed limbs in my yard that I couldn't get through with loppers, etc. I don't have a ton of use for a "full powered" gas chainsaw, but needed something heftier than manual tools for yard cleanup on my 3 acre property. It's simple to use, no fighting with getting it started, got through the 6"-7" diameter downed tree limbs i needed to remove with ease, and is quieter than a gas saw. Plus the battery works with my other Craftsman tools. For the price, especially if you're not looking to take down a massive tree or anything, I'd say it's well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Adam from exactly what is expected Ive had this chainsaw for a few months. Mainly used it for clearing and delimbing 3”-10” trees on my property in the florida panhandle. Its been great. I decided on this model because of the mobility it offers. I can climb through thick overgrowth to knock it down from the inside, or take down a tree around 10” in diameter. Its lighter than similar gas models, but still has plently of power for medium sized jobs. On a side note, i was considering buying a second battery but instead opted to get a weed eater so i had the additional yard tool, and backup to keep going while my other charged.

This past storm lots of limbs came down and this V20 chainsaw cuts through like butter! I have so far cut through 4 inch branches and under with no trouble. Self-oiling is convenient. Battery life was about a full hour of continuous hard work through thick branches. I have spare batteries and kept cutting until I needed a break. Great investment. I have a slew of V20 tools now including the extension chainsaw. All work excellent! Highly recommended!!

But I didn't want to have to deal with gas or struggling to start one. This fit the bill perfectly. The battery is interchangeable with all Craftsman 20v tools, so an extra bonus there. While this won't cut through huge trees, it's it perfect for the smaller jobs, or homeowner who doesn't need to use a chainsaw that often.

I’ve been using it for small trees and limbs and it’s so much easier than my old Craftsman gas powered saw. Low noise and a less aggressive chain making for far less bucking and kickback. I’d recommend it as an alternative to a small gas saw unless you’ve got more than a few trees or big limbs that you can’t wait for a recharge to get to. It seems ideal for most homeowners in need of a chainsaw for occasional minor use as it’s easy to use, isn’t loud, and isn’t fussy about fuel and oil. Works great. I’d buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joe P from Good quality useful chainsaw! I was reluctant to buy a cordless chainsaw having used gas powered saws for over 40 years to feed a wood stove. These days I'm generally using a chainsaw for smaller jobs like pruning and cutting up limbs that come down on the property so I thought that a cordless saw would be more convenient than mixing gas and oil, changing air filters and maintaining a two stroke gas engine. I am delighted with the 12 inch Craftsman saw. It works great on the 3 or 4 inch limbs that I've been cutting up and the overall quality of the saw is excellent. The automatic oiler works well and the functionality including the toolless chain tension adjustment is very nice. I'm sure that I could take down a 8 or 10 inch diameter tree if I need too. I definitely recommend this Craftsman cordless saw!
