No cement required. Just use a crushed stone base nice and flat and lay the patio bricks ontop. 24” very big and heavy they will not move.

Can I remove my grass and lay these directly on the ground, or does prep work need to be done to the dirt?

Rated 2 out of 5 by icefishinglad from Wrong size... PITA Overall, the stones look good and I only had one broke on the 3 skids that I had delivered. Not as thick/heavy as some stones being replaced; which was alright for my application. The biggest issue I ran into was i laid out, excavated, prepped and framed a 16x16' patio... when laying these 23.5" stones you can imagine my dismay when I got to the first 8' section and was short... then measured the stones... For diamond pattern and the like I suppose you might gap them and make it work. For paver patterned stone that really should be abutting each other; made alot more work. These shouldn't be marketed/labelled as 24-in.

After I started doing a second row with the new stones, I realized that they weren't matching up. These stones are 23.5 not 24 inches, which is fine if you're not going off of what you already had. I had to start from scratch but overall they're good stones

They’re ok stones, one more broke while I was moving it— and I didn’t drop it or anything, just set it ontop of another stone(slowly cause they’re heavy and I’m just one woman!)

Only problem is that the new ones are a different colour of grey than the ones I put down last year so the sidewalk looks a little odd. Hope sun and dirt will fade them a bit
