DEWALT Compact Jobsite Table Saw - 8 1/4-in Blade, 15 A

Description

This DEWALT table saw is equipped with a 15-amp 5 800 RPM motor that will let you rip through hardwood with ease. where is it made

Asked by: ontarioguy58
Country of origin on Lowes.ca says "TAIWAN", but other people have commented USA and CHINA. I'd check the box or call the store to confirm as there could be different manufacturers based on when/where you buy it.

Are you able to put a dado stack on this saw

Asked by: Skreech
No, arbor is too short for a dado stack. I believe the 7491rs is dado blade compatible.

Does this product (DeWalt 8.25" table saw) come with the foldable DeWalt table to sit on? (the photos on your website include the stand)

Asked by: Robin1955
Search for Dewalt product # DW7451 or Lowes item # 845504.

DEWALT Compact Jobsite Table Saw - 8 1/4-in Blade, 15 A is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 176.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Table Saw This is the first table saw I've ever purchased. I did lots of research and came to the conclusion that this was the product for me. I looked at the 10" table saw and was a bit leary of the availability of 8.5" blades but ultimately decided that this saw would surpass my needs as a DIY, garage woodworker. This saw ran perfectly right out the box. The fence is 100% straight. The only time I got a bad cut was when I neglected to ensure the fence was properly resting in the back notch (my goof). I've always trusted the Dewalt name. It goes back to my dad being an electrician and only using Dewalt products. I don't mind paying the extra money for the Dewalt name as I know I am purchasing a quality product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly very good So this is in general a well built and high quality product. But there are a few snags which need to be addressed The instructions are the pits. Badly written and confusing. OK in the end you sort it out, but why are the diagrams and part identifications on a different page requiring much page turning back to understand? The miter gauge is rubbish. Way too much slop on the fit, making repeatability an issue when used for making good quality items. Probably OK for a job site if you don't mind your house not to be upright! Shame because this could be a good saw for accurate carpentry. Well built in general, sturdy and durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great saw, but mounting it is a rig job Other reviews capture why this is a great general purpose saw, so I'll just move on to my one issue... mounting it. The saw doesn't come with mounting bolts, and the bolts that came with the 7440RS stand are too large, and I can't find any official info on it. Some people mention 8mm, but that they don't fit perfectly. Others mount using the diagonal cut holes with lock washers, but this seems like a rig job for a brand new saw and stand made by the same company. I'd rather mount flush using the supplied feet, which also give an extra 1/2" of height. Any help from DeWalt here? What size and length bolt is ideal for using the built-in mounting threads?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Little Compact Fireball! I have use it for a couple of days for a total of about 10 hours and I'm very impressed. I've moved from a Bosch 4100, which was giving me alignment issues which was causing major frustration. The wife on my back, so I decided to try a Dewalt. Couldn't find the 745 and decided on the DWE7485. Glad I did. I'm use to using a 10" blade but wasn't opposed to to a smaller. If your in the trade of construction and carpentry, I can understand it. I'm just into woodworking. I have a one car garage shop, so it fits very well. If your in the market you can't go wrong. There will always be haters and naysayers who just love to be negative. If it's not for you find another brand. This is my first Dewalt purchase though I have been using the product for over 15 years for work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Control or Engineering? For my purposes, my saw works just fine. But I had to fine tune the fence. It was out of parallel to the blade and would bind up as soon as I began ripping. I widened the front fence mounting slot (Picture below) that positions the fence on the fence locating screws, on the front end of the fence, about 2-3 millimeters wider so it could move that distance to the left. I couldn't determine if there was a builtin way to adjust this inaccuracy. Is this a quality control issue or a slight inaccuracy in the jig design dimensions? Or, maybe I might not be checked out enough on the set up requirements for this tool. But alas, it cuts just fine now. In my research, I found that this fence assembly and adjustment mechanism and maybe the whole table saw is discontinued. Maybe that's why I paid $100 less for it; do you think?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid saw - as long as you don't get a lemon... Overall this is a solidly built saw, although not the easiest to assemble mostly because of the instructions. However, upon plugging it in I was immediately greeted with a LOUD buzzing sound - think old school clothes dryer buzzer. Unplugging it, trying different outlets - same result. The saw started and ran, but the buzz came right back when stopping the blade. An internet search revealed this is a relatively common issue with this particular model - and supposedly results from incorrect switch wiring. I didn't buy a new saw to do re-wiring work on it, so back to the store it went. With a properly functioning switch, I'm sure it's a very decent saw, unfortunately because of my experience I cannot recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Owned this saw for 1 year I want to love…. Or even like this saw. I’m renovating a home and use this saw often, but after 1 year of use, the blade will no longer hold its height. As I’m making rabbet cuts, the blade height lowers DURING the cut. Even when running and no cutting, the blade lowers. The worm gears that adjust height have way too much slop for a woodworking tool. Look elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little saw. Fantastic product. Does everything it's supposed to do and does it very well. Great rip capacity, and the fence adjustment is dead on accurate. I bought this to build our kitchen island, in conjunction with my chop saw. You can do almost everything with that combination, and a couple of foldable worktables. Watch out for price drops, which only last a couple days. Not sure what that's all about. Get a screenshot of it (I didn't ), and you should be alright.
