It cuts faster and more accurately than several saws that cost twice or three times as much. It doesn't have a ton of useless extra features the more expensive saws have, and you probably won't miss them at all. The base plate is very solid and overall feel is very nice, and it just seems very well made . I'll never buy another Bosh after using the latest DeWalt jigsaws, especially at half the price. Just a great basic jigsaw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jotjmd3240 from Perfect for a First Timer I enjoyed my Dewalt cordless drill so much I decided to take a chance on this jigsaw. Not disappointed in the least! Was easy to use right out of the box. I had never used one and it was a piece of cake. I can say that it is perfect for that weekend project and could honestly say I could see it lasting a lifetime. The only complaint I can remotely come up with is saw dust often got in the path of the cut so that I couldn't see the line but honestly I don't know if that is just part of the job. Definitely a recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fivepoint from Great saw, but lock switch is a problem. The saw cuts well and appears to be of the quality I would expect from DeWalt. The only problem that I had was that the saw is front heavy, and after finishing a cut, the saw tilts forward, and I always seem to touch the trigger lock button which keeps the saw running. I am now aware of the issue and take care to avoid touching the switch, but it takes a conscious effort. I am a product safety engineer by trade and this definitely could be considered a safety issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by donaldsanders from Super Disappointment. As DeWalt is my favorite brand of power tools, I was sadly disappointed when I used my new DeWalt jigsaw. I did not know that it had settings which allowed the saw to move in a rotating direction as well as up and down as jigsaws normally do. When I set the blade on Zero so the rotation was supposedly nullified, the blade still moved forward and would not stay seated in the guide. Instead, as the blade had no rigidly as it was outside the slotted guide, the blade flexed to the side of the cut and sawed crookedly. I tried all the setting for the blade but could not get the blade to remain in the slot. Consequently, the saw is no good to me in my applications.

The only thing I don't like about it is you can't see the cutting line because of saw dust piling up in front of the blade. It needs a little hole at the blade somewhere so the motor fan can blow the saw dust out of the way. The way it is now, you cut a 1/4 inch and blow the saw dust out of the way, cut 1/4 inch and blow again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tim from Some Nice Features That Don't Work Well This jigsaw has plenty of power to cut through 1-1/2" pressure treated stock with ease. The variable speed is great, it is comfortable in the hand and the quick change blade feature works well. But there are two features that really don't work well. The blade tilt is feature is great for cutting different stocks, but the detents on the selection lever do not hold it securely in place. As a result, when cutting 1-1/2" stock I had to hold the lever in position with one hand--not a very safe thing to do. If I did not hold it in place it would jump back to one of the other settings. While I will seldom use the tilting shoe (most of my work will be at 0 degrees tilt), I found the manual setting to be very finicky. When tightening the screw that holds the tilting shoe in position, I found that the base would move about 4 or 5 degrees as I tightened the screw. Took many tries to get it dead on. If you don't need the tilting base or the blade tilt feature, then this is a good jigsaw but you could probably pay less for an equivalent quality unit. I plan to return this one to Lowe's and try another model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wood Butcher from Great Little Saw I purchased this saw as my second choice with a Bosch being first but at double the price. Very happy with this saw. Needed it for a deck pergola project. Made 34 cuts in 2 X 6 and 2 X 8 material with the included blade and it was still going strong at completion. Lowes advertises this as having a storage pouch included but that is not the case. Highly recommend this saw for this price point.
