Does the stand come with rollers and length stop?

Asked by: Miter saw
The description, and pictures show the rollers. Not sure about length stop.. That is easy enough to make with a clamp and piece of wood.

Is it ok to leave a miter saw "permanently" attached to this and store it in the upright position for a long time? Trying to save floor space....

Asked by: tpic
you certainly can - and save storage space.

DeWalt Rolling Mitre Saw Stand - Adjustable - Black and Yellow - Steel is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 148.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faulty Mounting Bolt Assembly I really want to like this stand, it seems generally well put together. HOWEVER, one glaring weakness is the way Dewalt packages the mounting assembly. It consists of four bolts that move along mounting rails. These are used to mount a miter saw. The problem is that the bolts come from the factory WAY over-tightened. And the small allen wrench provided easily strips the bolts. There is no reason for the bolts to be this tight on shipment. Dewalt needs to do better quality control; I stripped one of the bolts already. We’ll see how Dewalt handles it, before adjusting my review grading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stand I bought this stand after looking at other stands and reviews of other stands. This stand is not only well built but super strong. I mounted my double bevel compound slide saw on and it has become the best thing I’ve bought in some time. It’s easy to use and helps make the task of moving my saw around so much easier. The saw is secure and positions perfectly at the right height. Everything about the stand is well built and ergonomically it’s set up to make using it a one person experience. I’m a 55 year old craftsman and anytime tool that makes getting setup on the job site faster and easier is a win/win for both me and the customers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Closing issue resolved After putting it all together It was stuck in the up position. after inspection and tinkering a bit, I pulled off the plastic guard covering the collapse mechanism. I found that the 2 small nuts on either side were a bit to tight preventing the sliding motion. after slightly loosening each one the stand works great. I know many people leave the saw mounted however i would like to see a feature to quickly mount the saw and remove it again without the super long threaded bolts holding it in. However it does make for a sturdy build. I expect this will last longer than the smaller more portable stands.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sturdy, BUT... I just bought this yesterday and had it assembled in no time. I mounted my mitre saw on the stand and attempted to raise it. It wouldn't go up. After fiddling around with it, I got it up. Now, it won't go down! So, there it sits. Fully up and ready to use, but unable to retract to it's storage position. On the good side, it is extremely sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now I look forward to using my miter saw I used to need to pick up my miter saw and lug it around my shop to a clear place on the floor (my workbench was always full of material). I dreaded it. Now it is a breeze to roll it out, make a few cuts, clean it off and roll it back to the corner. Infeed/outfeed supports are life changing compared to not having them for so long. Also, I almost didn't buy it because I read somewhere that it isn't stable enough to store your saw in the vertical position. I suspect their lawyers said that. It stores vertically just fine and is very stable that way (absent a kid hanging on it or something stupid; maybe different saws are differently balanced or something).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Girl on the move!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this last year to help move around our miter saw - I needed the help because my size and the miter saw being an awkward shape. When working alone - it just was easier to set up in rooms and move it around efficiently. Also provided a nige work station! Storage is sometimes tricky because it’s large but - moving and being efficient is a larger bonus for us!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will not lift more than a small miter saw I bought this stand as it was marketed as a rolling miter/planer stand. After realising that I had to build a custom base to mount my Dewalt planer to it (first point of disappointment), I quickly learned that this stand will not collapse nor raise if you habe a planer attached to it. My planer weighs roughly 100lbs, and the stand is rated for 300lbs. While it may hold the wieght of the planer while in the up position, you will need to remove the planer in order to drop down the stand. If you habe a heavy miter saw, I suggest looming elsewhere for a functional stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great tool stand I have purchased 2 of these units now and have used them several times with no problems of going up and down. You need to lift at the first stage and release the handle and it will go to the middle stage, then lift again and release the handle then push it down to the flat stage which will lock to be able to move unit. Both units work very well if you remember this sequence. There are cable adjustments to make these locks work if need be, but have not needed to do that. I enjoy not having to carry these saws around, just roll them where you need them and set to the desired height.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Miter saw stand As with some of the other reviewers the mounting bolts used to hold saw to stand were so tight that I ended up disassembling the mount put each bracket in a vise and used a pipe wrench on the threaded portion of bolt to loosen it. Cut head off bolt and replaced with bolts that I had. Secondly, and this appears to be a common problem I had a problem getting stand raised and now it won't lower. It appears that cable is too long or needs adjustment. Nothing I could find in instructions or website that indicates how to adjust cables. I have already spent far too much time on this stand and now spending more with this review

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this stand. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this a few months now. I've been wanting it for my flexvolt miter saw. The few reviewers that said it was difficult to set must not assemble stuff often, because it took more time to unbox it than to put it together. It's extremely stable and super simple to operate. The built in sliding board supports are very ingenious and very easy to use and surprisingly sturdy. This stand makes life so much easier for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unit wont collapse I had high hopes for this, the reviews seemed to be decent but the unit will not collapse. The cable that engages the spring wasn't tightened down so it's heading back to DeWALT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So wish I bought this 2 years ago [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just like Dewalt to build a quality and precise stand. Got this for myself as a birthday gift, it is exactly what my Dewalt miter saw has been missing!
Date published: 2019-04-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Solid stand, but cable system is awful. I've had this stand for 8 months now. I'm a contractor put my Dewalt Flexvolt Miter Saw on this stand so I could have my saw with me on any site. Like others here, I've found the over stand solid, but the cable release system sucks. It's really an awful design. I've been fighting with it for the last few months and am now about to give up entirely in it. I can't afford to fight to get it open for 10 minutes and then spend 30 to 45 to get it closed...it coats me too much time, which really means money.
Date published: 2018-04-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can’t collapse it. Cable too long. Worked great aside from not collapsing. Tried many things with no success.Disconnect the short stout spring, hook vise grips to the silver slider’s tab and bend it back and (its a fight) put the springs back on. Dewalt needs to revise their design but there is too much slack in the cable, at least the one that we bought.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Having trouble lowering it? Just got this stand for my beautiful dewalt miter saw assembly was easy. I got it to raise But then it would not go back down. I thought I broke it already. Turns out there's a spring located under the black triangular cover that the black release cord is hooked to and it had sprung. Reattached it and it raised and lowers like a charm. Next step I'll be putting the saw on I'll update later

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good I purchase this stand along with new saw last Christmas, this stand is not mint for use very often. The difficulty of getting the legs open. adjusted, maintain the correct high so you can cut crown or anything straight is hideous. I'm a contractor & depend on my tools to make my living, but when I cant make good clean cuts then I lose money. I have no problem paying for good tools but don't like when they become hard to use.
Date published: 2018-01-01
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy duty I bought this only a few days ago, and I see that is well built. When putting it together the instructions are straightforward, and easy. Putting on a mitre saw was a challenge due to the fact that the mounting bolt was jammed. In the process of removal, the supplied wrench broke off inside the head of the bolt. Rendering the mounting bolt useless. I managed to remove the bolt after several drill bits, and using vice rips as well. I understand it needs to be torqued down at the factory, but that was ridiculous! I am now in search of a new tool and mountain bolt. I also have a problem with the lowering of the unit with a miter saw attached. Isn't it supposed to be able to do that?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Good stand. Seems sturdy though I don't understand why there are not rollers included. Only issue I have with it is the sloppy lift handle. It can not be tightened enough to not move. When your lifting the stand and saw it is disconcerting to have the handle slide around.

Date published: 2023-03-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Usefull to move the saw, but not perfect. Very heavy and sturdy saw stand. Seems solidly built. The gas cylinder really helps open and close the stand. I bought this stand because I wanted to carry my saw more easily and the 7 feet saw stand is just too long to be carried in my car. BUT, once collapsed, this stand is not really shorter than my other stand that came with my mitter saw. It is VERY long. Also, I have some problems with the lock mechanism. It is sometimes impossible to lock it and then I have to open the mechanism cap and re attach the actuator spring, which is not an easy job. Quite annoying for a product this price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor design, FAILS every time. At first glance this saw stand looks great. I purchased feeling good about DeWalt and all the other tools I own. I mounted the saw ( )and began using. Within 2 weeks the stand was bent at the joint on the opposite side of the wheels. I tried to bend it back and made it worse. I thought it must be from bouncing around in my trailer. So I bought another one. This time I built a hard foam pad that mounted to the floor under the saw just above tight, so it actually held that end of the saw slightly above the trailer floor while not in use. I also created 4 mounting points on the sides of the saw on the trailer floor to help hold the saw and stand in place while traveling to job sites. I figured this would solve the issue. It did not. The saw was bent in just over 4 weeks and is now garbage, just like the first one. I found a Rigid saw stand that is very similar, but the tubing is bent in the correct direction to help reduce stress at these points. I have had it for 3 months now and it is still in great condition. I would not recommend this stand to anyone for any reason. It is junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just what I was looking for. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] assembly went fast and easy, moves up and down with no problem. makes my saw more portable on the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from folding it I won’t fold up, its hard to fold down, the pins that locks it in place one will not lock in its not and easy to put it up or away when done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stand This stand is perfect for my woodworking applications. It makes the DWS779 really convenient to use. Yeah the stand + miter saw are heavy, but I'm not taking them to jobsites. And besides, you need mass for it to be stable. I hadn't planned on buying a stand when I upgraded to this miter saw - didn't realize just how big and heavy it is! - but I'm glad I did. By the way, the "trade" category below doesn't fit me, and neither does the "how would you identify yourself" one. I do have a side-side business making custom desks for composers, but I'm a magazine editor by trade - and don't identify myself by any of those, FFS. It's stupid when multiple-choice questions don't at least have an "other" category.
Date published: 2020-08-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stand wont lower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just as most are saying here; the stand wont lower. I have owned the stand for 1 1/2 years. I cannot lower it at all now. Seems sturdy built otherwise
Date published: 2019-10-20
Rated 1 out of 5 by from the mounting bolts wont come out I tried using leverage and the bolts are stripping.
Date published: 2022-05-28
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was expecting for the price First off, I would expect a brand new tool stand to function properly. This does not. The screws for the mounting point must have been put on with a impact set to “good luck getting off” mode. Once you have it fully assembled it will go up. If you never want to collapse this tool then it is perfect for you. But if you bought a portable stand to take olaces well you can’t. Once it is raise you are stuck with it uo right forever. The function to collapse doesn’t work. The cable looks like it is WAY to long. Since this is a honest review, I have no clue how to adjust cables and honestly since it is stuck in the upright position hit sure it is safe to even adjust now. So the stand is stuck and I will most likely be returning this stand. If it doesn’t function out of the box I would hate to see it in a year or two.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stand won't collapse. I bought it a year ago at Home Depot worked fine but after the fifth collapse it will not go down. Anyone know what's is wrong with it? Never was damage or misused. Really annoying that I can't store it in the corner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok An ok stand. Mine came with no assembly instructions, luckily was able to download them. I don't know about the the 3 position height adjustment .
