Rated 4 out of 5 by Alex Lee from Great tool for electricians I've used this light on a few jobs now. I'm an electrician and there are some jobs where there are no lights when i arrive. Thats where this comes in handy. I last used it about 2 weeks ago on an electrical service fire where the power had to be completely turned off until we could make the repairs. It lit up the entire section of the factory where we worked. Idk what the other reviewer is talking about. This light extends to 7 ft and is directional. Guess he didn't know how to use it? Other then this light being a bit of a battery hog (drains a 6ah in about 3 hours on high) i have no issues with it.

I had to talk the wife into it, but since we have used it on several occasions... it's so handy to toss a battery in, and have a lot of light anywhere you need it. we have literally used on normal jobs, power outages, and even stuck it on top of a roof to finish a gutter project (it worked great, sat right across the peak of the roof) Makes an incredibly handy power failure light, on low it will last a long time on a 5AH battery and totally light up a room (bounced off the ceiling, or can point more directly) I look forward to other similar/great products from DeWalt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Finnalli56 from Love Dewalt products but this one not I have a good amount of Dewalt products and work with a guy who has all Rigid products and it is sort of a rivalry thing and when I seen this light one I needed a good light and two yup you guessed it another jab back at mr rigid, but sorry to say he won this one for you see the hinge is made of plastic and not the resin like the tough built boxes and they break easily, so easy some people find them broke right out of the box. This tool should be able to take a fall but it is unable to handle shipping in some cases. I took mine back right away for a full refund and may get a different light of Dewalts or the Milwaukee or yes the Rigid one for they are currently superior. Sorry Dewalt you failed big on this one and with the info I have read on this site and others it sounds like you are doing nothing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Guy J from Breaks at the hinge for the legs Bought first one yesterday. Checked it out in my living room. Hinge broke right away. Took it back and exchanged for another. Didn't even remove from the box. Same hinge broken in the same place. First Dewalt product where I've ever questioned the design. Would otherwise love it.

We purchased ten total light for emergency scene lighting. Some of them will go on our UTV trailer for use at wild fires and emergency scenes in the remote rural areas of our district. On Monday November 4 we were dispatched for hunter who fell from his tree stand. We strapped 2 of these lights on the UTV when it left for the location of his fall. Personnel on scene stated we have never had such great lighting in the woods. Just 2 of them had enough light to light up the area of his fall and made his recovery form the woods to an awaiting helicopter much smoother, safer and faster. We use the 60V batteries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rtrosendale from Awesome portable lighting! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is hard to believe how far cordless lighting has advanced in the last few years. I purchased this light for use working in remote areas and it has worked fantastic at illuminating large areas where there is no power available for traditional tripod lights and eliminates the need for a small generator. Can be a little on the heavy side with a flexvolt or 6AH XR battery, but that provides the longest runtime. Sets up and takes down quickly. Wish there was a cap for the lens though as it is exposed while in the bed of the truck. Overall, love my tripod light!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Edwards from Expected more from Dewalt I bought this light about three months ago I keep it in the back seat of my crew cab truck took it out today and the bracket that holds the leg pin in broke. Light will not stand on its own. I love all of my other Dewalt tools and I have many and in most cases several of many this light is by far the worst built of all my tools. So Dewalt if you read these please step up your quality control and built this light to with stand a construction site and at very least a back seat rides in a truck.

It folds up nicely and the carry handle makes it very portable. On high, it lasted 2 hours on a 4 AH battery, and 6 hours on low. It’s adjustability means you can light light wherever you may need it, and it’s footprint is relatively small compared to similar work lights I’ve used in the past. The only thing that would make this light better would be the option to plug it in, but with the lights long runtime, you can charge multiple batteries before one runs out. Everything about it feels well built, and I would recommend this light to anyone who needs a work light.
