The EGO POWER+ 16 in chainsaw delivers the power of gas without the noise, fuss, and fumes. This saw's advanced, high-efficiency brushless motor delivers the equivalent power of a 40CC gas chainsaw that lasts up 130 cuts on a 4x4 (when used with the included EGO 2.5 Ah 56V ARC Lithium(TM) battery). The tool-less chain tensioning system allows for fast and easy bar and chain adjustments through independent dials, which are low profile in design and allow for cutting flush to the ground. The 20m/s chain speed allows for clean, efficient cutting and the automatic oiling system keeps the saw lubricated throughout the cutting application. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first got this chainsaw, I was a little worried about how this would compare to a gas one. I thought there was no way it would even come close but man was I blown away. This chain saw was lighter, faster, and more agile than anything I've used before. It can do anything from trimming hedges and cutting limbs to taking down trees. I know people get worried about the battery life on a tool like this but I never had an instance where I had to stop work to recharge the battery. Fantastic replacement for a traditional gas chainsaw. It is much less work to maintain but just as convenient and powerful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NateS from Very effective, love this chainsaw. Works like a champ. Decent duration of use before too weak. I have been cutting MANY 6 inch diameter branches at many different angles. Simple adjustment interfaces. Effective and easy to use emergency stop mechanism. Adding oil is easy. I have been using food grade vegetable oil. My only complaint is that the small round green button which must be depressed at the same time as the trigger leaves a blister on my hand after a while. Just the angle that area of my thumb has to press hard tends to pinch my glove into the space which the button depresses into. And I have to stop and carefully pull my rubber work glove out of having been pinched.

Last fall I purchased two 5.0 amp hour batteries for about the same price as one 5.0 Ego battery. I will not do that again. Due to the recent tornado here in Arkansas I had plenty of work to do last Saturday. My new 4.0 Ego battery lasted longer than the two other batteries combined. While on the fifth battery I replaced the chain since I had failed to bring a file but did have a spare chain. I am very happy with the power and endurance of this chainsaw. It is also so easy to keep the chain tension right. I love that it is so much quieter than a gas chainsaw.

I used this saw to fell and buck 2 dead and dying trees that were both around 50’ tall in high canopy woods. One white birch, 14” to 15” diameter at the base, and another a twin maple about 9 to 10” at a single base. Both were cut to 16” lengths to fit an antique little stove. I was able to buck half the length on the big birch before the battery blinked red and needed charging. No time was wasted because while charger was working it gave me time to walk cut logs out of woods. (Mind you, a brand new saw chain helped with these many cuts.) Photo includes wood cut by a gas chain saw as well. 50/50 EGO & a now dead gas chain saw.

Well I have got to say this saw is a work horse. One 30’ Piñon pine tree, 13” in diameter was no problem. Including cutting and sizing branches the whole thing took just under 1 hour and the 4 ah battery just made it. Lightweight and agile and very easy to operate— much easier than any of the 3 gas chain saws that I own. Especially appreciate how the saw turns off when your finger is released from the throttle. Makes work much quieter and safer. Definitely an A+++

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stan Ginsel from Superb Products! I'm so impressed! What an incredible tool! Cuts through everything my 18" Echo gas-powered does with ease. I have an extra battery and Fast-Charger which gives me as-long-as-I-want power. Takes only 30 minutes to charge the battery and I get roughly 30 minutes worth of cutting time so I'm never "out of gas." Plus, you don't have to carry the traditional "chainsaw tool" as the chain is tightened with a hand adjuster. VERY convenient! If you're in the market for a great chainsaw you should really consider the EGO brand. I also own the EGO String Trimmer and Blower. All three are outstanding products. From my experience, you simple can't get any better than the EGO brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DC in Maine from What a terrific chain saw I have used an earlier generation electric chain saw (not an Ego) for a couple of years and found the power and charge capacity limiting. Over this past week I have worked with the Ego 16” saw and am so impressed. It has all the power of gas chain saws that I have worked with in the past. It is easy to work with, very quiet, and cuts like a dream. I worked for over an hour and did not come close to depleting the battery. I did not track the number of cuts that I made but it has to have been in excess of seventy. I would strongly recommend this saw for anyone looking for solid performance and reliability.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MhamiltonTX from Perfect for certain jobs This chainsaw is well made, light, and very easy to operate. It is great for a very specific use case. If you need to trim up some trees around your house and cut mid to small diameter branches for firewood or hauling away, this chainsaw will work great. It will burn through batteries, even 10ah fully charged batteries, but it will get the job done. This is not even close to replacing a gas powered chainsaw. It doesn’t have the strength, torque, and stamina to cut bigger logs or work on bigger projects. For cleaning up the yard or making a couple of big cuts, this would be fine, just know what you are buying.
