The 15 inches string trimmer from EGO is equipped with the POWERLOAD technology which automatically winds your trimmer line. Replacing your string line is as easy as feeding the line into the head and pressing a button! The telescopic aluminum shaft easily adjust the shaft length for ease of use and comfort. Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy weed lady from Ego 15” power load string eater Oh my gosh! I love this machine! I am a 5’2” 68 year old woman and this weed eater is so awesome. Easy to use, unbelievable power. My husband said I’m obsessed because if I could I would have done all the neighbors yards I let the string get a little short so couldn’t get the line to feed so had to learn how to take the head off and fix the string…once I figured out how to do that I was off to trim the acre. I have a gas powered weed eater but always had to wait for my husband to start it plus it was heavy and awkward. With Ego I could use it when I wanted…just had to make sure it was charged. I love how light this tool is and how great and strong the string is. Can’t say enough how happy using the Ego made me. Thank you!

It cuts just as good as the Hitachi gas trimmer that I have used for the last ten years. Plus, I don't have to buy gas and oil and mix it. I have used it three times and it runs for about 45 minutes which is about all I want to do anyway. It recharges in about 45 minutes to full power. The only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating is that it is quite a bit heavier than my gas trimmer and I haven't had to restring it yet. So, I don't know how well the POWERLOAD string winder works but I expect it will do fine. This is a well-made quality product I am very happy with so far.

The Negatives first: It is heavier than I expected (think battery here) and the shaft is almost long enough when fully extended (I'm not tall ... 5'-10"). The weight and bending was hard on me. Since it is a powerful machine, you need to be careful. The Positives: It's a manly machine ... without the gasoline and oil to mix, or a starter rope to pull! It starts every time you pull the trigger. :) It has enough power to trim through most anything. The battery life is just long enough to wear me out and force me to take a break. I think I trimmed for about 40 minutes. By the time the battery recharged, I was ready to go back to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alto from TALL users... this trim is for you! The only trimmer I know of with adjustable length shaft means it adapts to your height! FINALLY!!! No more awkward angles holds to use trimmer. I am 6’3” and love it at full length. I held at least 12 other trimmers and the string was about 5”-9” off the ground when held naturally. This trimmer held same way is right where I want it at one inch off the ground. Plus, it is great at trimming lawn and feeds string reliably. Haven’t used auto load feature yet. Would definitely buy again. Wish front handle was more rounded in center, as my average fingers feel crowded together due to somewhat tight curve... my only complaint so far.

The telescoping shaft and the auto loading line feeder was what sold me and her on this for and the replacing of the line is so easy. So, the shaft can be extended to fit myself or shortened to fit my wife very easily. I was concerned about the power of the trimer and the battery life before purchasing but not anymore. I haven't tried cutting done heavy brush yet but see no problem doing so. It has a lot of power and battery lasts a long time. I have about 1 acre of trimming to do and there isn't a problem with power nor batter life.

So far it has met all of my expectations with regard to features and performance that I had read about and from testing agencies. I was really impressed by the balance of the trimmer with the battery engaged in the tool. It thought that it might be heavy and awkward to manage, but it was very easy to use. It is very quiet and the line release mechanism functions well. I haven't run out of the factory wound line yet, so I am anxious to see if the power winder works as well as advertised, as that is one of the biggest aggravations that I have with string trimmers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LawnDon from Power load is a joke I like everything about this string trimmer except the Power load. It works sometimes however most times it is very frustrating. The string will not pass all the way through. It gets caught up somewhere inside. Usually, I end up after several tries, just taking it apart and running the string through myself. Then I put it back together and use the button to wind the string on. I would rather it was the old style or maybe if they could make it an easy way to remove the cover. For me, with authorities and at 68 years of age It takes me 2 hands to remove the cover and that's very difficult when your not near a table to set it on. The rest of the trimmer is good.
