Rated 2 out of 5 by Long Time EGO Tool User from Rod I have numerous EGO Tools and (was) overall satisfied. However, the battery life is much less than expected. I had to replace a 2.5 AMH and a 10 AMH battery after just over 2 years for each battery. Fortunately EGO stood behind both batteries and replace them free of charge with brand new batteries. If starting over with no EGO Tools, I would have to think about other brands as the battery life is the real success or failure of any “battery” powered tool.

I must have bought a complete dud because this thing dies extremely fast and takes way too long to charge. The times listed must be when it’s running and not actively doing work because even the slightest bit of stress drains the power immediately. I’ve found myself sitting and waiting on the “rapid charge” 4-5 times just to get through an average sized yard which ends up taking an entire day up for a fairly simple task. I honestly don’t think I could be more disappointed in these products which sucks because I really like the idea of it. For how expensive everything is I would absolutely spend my money elsewhere if I had the choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Herptiles from 10.0 Amp Hour Battery w/ Fuel Gauge 10.0 Amp Hour Battery w/ Fuel Gauge is a great option for getting away from gas with more time to run the equipment. Build quality seems good, sturdy, easy to grip and swap out batteries. I really like the fuel gauge to know at a glance what power I have left on any piece of equipment I have the battery in. I like how each battery is interchangeable on all my EGo equipment. So far very pleased and would recommend this battery.

Zero Turn Mower with 4 batteries included; this proved enough time of use to mow 1.5 acres of our 2 acre property; we then erred in ordering 2 more "batteries for EGO mowers" which turned out to be generic batteries which failed to hold a charge. We returned the generic batteries, ordered EGO brand batteries and our mower now cuts our full 2 acres without the need to pause. Now, happy with our mower and batteries; however, be aware, EGO wants approximately $800.00 more than you paid before they will provide a full complement of the 6 batteries required to last for a full 2 acre cut!

I mowed, using the mulching blade, for approximately 40 minutes and 3 of the 5 indicator lights were still lit. I used the self-propel about 50% of the time, the rest I manually pushed the mower. Did not have the lights on. Power seemed fine but this early in the season the grass has uneven growth so in spots I was taking off 1-1.5 inches and other times not taking anything off. Anxious to see if there will be enough battery when consistently taking off 1/2-to-1 inch of grass over the entire yard and the self-propel is used more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EGO in TN from Love my EGO! The 10 Ahr battery has enough to mow my yard and then some. Cuts thru all heights when I’m too lazy to mow as I should’ve. However, my beginning of my third season my battery was not holding a charge anymore. I was well pleased with the EGO warranty when after a little troubleshooting on the phone with EGO their representative determined the warranty would replace it. The new one arrived quickly and the follow up was great from them to make sure I was satisfied. Can’t complain and glad I went with EGO. Just remember it is important to register all your purchases. The on the phone help was great.

When I got it I had no issue mowing my 0.24 acre city home. This year I've only mowed twice in May (no mow may for the bees) and both times the battery died after about 15 min. I could barely do 1/2 my yard (only the front). Not even a full year out of the battery that is 2/3 the price of the mower. No happy is an understatement.

I have a 1/4 acre lot and it has enough power to cut the entire yard and the circle in the cul-de-sac. Even when I’ve let the yard go and the grass was easily over 8 inches tall. It’s truly power beyond belief.

Bought the tool with the 7.5 battery I knew it wasn't going to be enough. I think the price of the 10.0 Battery compared to the price of the blower with the 7.5 Battery and charger is to high but so far it is doing the job I need it to do.

At first the battery lasted an hour more or less but now its more like 30 minutes and I've only used it a few times. I wonder how long it will last next season in my mower. However it does a great job with my saw and weed trimmer

Rated 2 out of 5 by user3000 from Battery status light unreliable Acutal battery capacity OK but charge status light unreliable. Similar problems on 2 of same battery. Common problem is start with full charge, mow grass continuously for 20 min, shows 5 bars until mower stops, but after battery light off, press light button or restart mower & only 3 bars. Then one time waited a few minutes without using or charging, back to 5 bars. Problem doesn't always occur, sometimes battery lights decrease while mower running as you'd expect. Full charge & then full discharge seemed to reset status light, but erratic behavior not promising.

I have owned ego products for about 4 years and love them! I have 2 mowers, weed eater,2 blowers, a hedge trimmer & chainsaw. So I hope this is a one off. I have not had time to register the mower and charger yet but once I do they said they will replace the battery. I will update this once that happens.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Idontgiveoutmyname from Doesnt last as long as the signage says. I thought it would last longer. It doesn't. Maybe an hour, but more like 45 minutes. It does not really matter since I did my lawn in 2 parts before. It is just that I could do the backyard, rest and then do the front yard. Now, I mow about 75% of the backyard, recharge (and rest) and then mow the rest of the backyard and the front yard. So, you should get another battery if you want to mow it all at once. But these things are EXPENSIVE. It does indicate that it is low and seems to provide good indicators of the battery's charge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Low Charge from Hope it lasts longer than the original So far so good, but my last two 7.5 AHr batteries made it 3 seasons before they couldn't mow even a half a yard. They could mow our whole yard with charge to spare when new. I rate it 4-stars due to the stupid cost that is nearly as much as a new mower. Having to buy battery every 3 years with no recycling program basically negates the savings on fuel, oil and tune-ups, as well as the environmental benefits. Perhaps this higher capacity battery with a 5-year warranty will last longer. Otherwise, it's back to a gas mower.

Not only was it enough but I finished with 2 bars left on the fuel gauge. Probably took somewhere between an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half to cut my lawn. Again, this battery was plenty sufficient to get the job done.
