Rated 5 out of 5 by Counselor2019 from The Perfect String Trimmer I was afraid that this trimmer would be too heavy for me to operate for long, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is easy to operate and not too heavy...battery and all. The best feature for me is the self-winding head...saves so much time and frustration! I have really put this trimmer to the test, in some tall, thick grass and some broad places, and it comes out head and shoulders above any other trimmer I have purchased (and I have purchased a LOT of string trimmers, both battery and gasoline). I have finally found the one that makes my yardwork so easy and convenient. I highly recommend it....and, btw, I am a 66-year-old grandma with a big ol' yard to cut and trim by myself.

The Stihl was powerful but the tapping mechanism never seemed to work properly and loading the string was very frustrating. The EGO trimmer with powerload is fantastic. It has more power than the Stihl and is far easier to load and to use. Push the string through the trimmer head until you have equal lengths on both sides then push the button just above the head. The string automatically loads! I LOVE this feature. As you use the trimmer, the string automatically feeds out to maintain the same length. I can't recommend it enough!

I use gas trimmers all day I've been bringing this one to work everyone wants to use it it's lighter quieter minimal vibration.. which makes a huge difference if you're using the machine all day.. I weed whacked two hotels and three residentials before the battery died which was pretty good.. and the automatic line feed is beautiful you don't have to mess with taking the trimmer head apart and loading it and winding it you can load up the string in a snap.. all the guys want to use it and now my boss is thinking of converting to all electric..

On low setting(I really don’t need high), the battery has gone for well over an hour before I stuck it on the charger. It wasn’t dead yet by the way. The not having to constantly bump it for line is awesome. The auto feed of the line is awesome. I have already told everyone I know about this item and have let my friend use it on his yards so he could see how great it is. Honestly at this point it’s one of the better purchases I have made. Just bought the leaf blower and will be replacing all of my gas items over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CellyCell from Ego doesn't disappoint! Coming from last year's model this one is definitely needed. It elimates the need to bump for more line. The model that you have to bump works fine but this one is definitely kicks it up a notch. It kick out more line when you need it after the string gets to a certain level. When edging, it doesn't kick out like it should at times. Normally, I just give it a few shakes or stop it completely and then turn it back on full throttle and it kicks out no problem. Other than that, it is convenient is worth the upgrade, especially with that 4ah battery!

We have the Ego mower, blower and now the string trimmer as well. Not only do these tools look nice, they are powerful and work exceptionally well. We have purchased tools in the past that only last a year or so, but these continue to perform. The string trimmer is the expected weight and easy to use. This gets the job done right the first time and has an easy-to-charge battery/charger. We will absolutely continue to use the Ego brand and would recommend this trimmer (and their other products) to anyone looking.

A little heavy on the battery end of course but I did not have to restring the trimmer as I would have on my old trimmer.I did not think I would have bought it the day I did account I was looking for a gas trimmer such as my old one.Glad I made the choice saving gas and so far NO hassle with the trim line a very Big plus! On the handling end of the trimmer I wish the OPTIONAL strap to help carry it and distibute the weight was included with the purchase.But what does the little man get from BIG Brother. Over all 5 stars for stringer,power,and over all use.

Carbon fiber shaft has a “lifetime” guarantee, but because the part of the shaft that transitions to the battery is “plastic” it is not covered under warranty! Very disappointing! I have the blower as well, and I’m very careful about setting it on the ground after use so that it doesn’t break as well! You would think EGO would’ve covered a simple break in the plastic part, but they said “no”?to their warranty shop- who were very surprised- they said warranty coverage was never easy to determine- and parts breaking happen all the time. No more EGO for me!!
