Electric Built-In Induction Cooktop - 36" - Black Steel is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this cooktop We bought this cooktop almost a year ago. It took a bit of getting used to, but I really like it. I'm still not very good and the "touch and slide" controls, but so far I've resisted ordering the magnetic knob. I like that it is similar to gas in that it only heats what touches the glass top. The interesting thing is the clean-up. I'm a bit messy and there are always some drips and splatters when I cook. The good part about induction cooking is that the food doesn't bake onto the cooktop because it is relatively cool. I keep a Magic Eraser close by and I follow it up with a paper towel to polish it. It only takes a minute. I use this cooktop every day and I would buy one again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very unreliable technology We have been induction cooktop users for over 10 years all our cookware is made for induction. We bought this cooktop 3 months ago as we moved into a new home. Since day one has been misbehaving, first the small coil barely works for cookware that supposed to be designed for it. The big one only heats up the middle of the pan leaving the outer part almost cold, which is weird as induction heat should be uniformly distributed. It switches off automatically for no reason and it is extremely sensitive to humidity. We called Samsung and they have sent 4 technicians already replacing coils, mother board and I don't know what else and still is malfunctioning. Very disappointed with this cooktop which I will replace in the moment that Samsung finally agreed to it (which they haven't)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fancy, powerful, and easy to clean We purchased this cooktop to replace a gas cooktop which was broken. It required us to install a new breaker and run a large caliber wire from the breaker box since you cannot hook it up to a standard outlet. It took about 2 months to deliver it because it was not in stock and I think it's a brand new unit which Samsung does not have significant inventory of yet. The cooktop looks very nice. The blue lights do light up the pot like a gas flame, especially when seen from a distance. It is one of the most powerful on the market, especially if you utilize the power boost feature. You can put water into a pot and heat it with power boost in a matter of seconds which is a neat trick for friends. Practically speaking, this is a great feature if you need to boil a giant pot of water for some reason. The knob depicted in the screen is actually magnetic and can be used to control each of the burners. It is then easily removed so the entire surface is completely flat for easy cleaning. The cooktop has several advanced features. The simmer option seems useful but I haven't found when it should be used yet. There is a feature that will detect when water boils over the pot and hits the cooktop it will turn itself off--very nice. It also has the ability theoretically to control it with bluetooth via a Samsung app--I can't imagine how this would be all that useful and the app currently has dismal reviews related to connectivity/functionality problems. I will say it is not the quietest unit and has a section in the manual dedicated to explaining all the noises it makes and how they are part of normal use. I'd rather silence, but it is cool to hear the low-frequency buzzing noise it makes when you turn the powerboost on. You can literally hear the power (but don't try to cook anything on that mode--it's strictly for getting up to the proper temperature quickly). I also find the magnetic knob a little finicky as it must be turned quite slowly to raise or lower the power of the burner. Overall I think it looks great, functions well with impressive power, and has some cool advanced feautres. Only 4 stars because of the noise, finicky magnetic knob, and I'm not sure the price is justified.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returned this cooktop I have had induction cook-tops before, this is the worst one I've ever had. When you try to turn the burner up or down it can actually go in the wrong direction. If I have something on at an 8 and went to turn it down to a 5 it sometimes went UP to 12. Or if I was able to turn it down, it would jump back up to the highest setting all by itself. You really had to stand there an watch what ever you were cooking because you never knew when it would turn itself up or down. I used the magnetic dial and my finger, it didn't matter, it still did its own thing. I returned the cook-top and got another brand. I have seen other reviews that said they had this same problem, I should have listened to them. :( [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It isn't what we expected We were super excited to get this induction cook top for our new home we built. It unfortunately started malfunctioning shortly after use. Heaven for bid a drop of water gets on the cook top and it shuts down and you can't turn it back on until the top is completely dry. Our one burner has already stopped working, and we have literally only used it maybe 30 times or so if that. We just moved into our new home at the beginning of October. We did buy the extended warranty, so hopefully when they come out to look at it, it'll solve the problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cooks so fast, and looks great. Replaced a 1990s electric cooktop original to our house with this Samsung induction cooktop. Not only is this cooktop larger than the old one, but the induction cooking is great. Love that the cooktop does not stay hot for 15 plus minutes after it has been turned off. Boils a huge pot of water with the power boost setting in less than 1/2 the time it used to take. I also enjoy the sleek design that allows it to be used as touch only without the control knob, and the blue lights indicating when the burner is on, reminiscent of the glow from a gas cooktop. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool lights & cooks fast; quirky with water drop I replaced a regular electric glasstop stove with this unit. I wanted something faster than electric. I wanted gas, but didn't want to re-pipe my house. Did a lot of research and am overall happy with my purchase. Power--boost is insanely fast at heating up water when you need it. The touch controls take some getting used to. We almost exclusively use our fingers vs. the magnetic knob, which is just too slow. The noise isn't really an issue. Sort of bugged me at first, but if you turn on your range hood on low, you can't even hear it. My biggest complaint is how picky it is with water on the surface. The manual says if water "spills" on the surface, it shuts everything off. I presume that's to prevent your food from boiling over. But, even if you pick a lid up off a pot, and the condensation falls on the cooktop...presto...everything shuts off. It's very annoying, particularly when it's been five minutes and you didn't notice it and now everything has stopped cooking. Ditto if you take a metal sheet pan out of the over and put it on the cooktop (cuz...it's right there). The metal will usually do something to the touch-controls and either you turn something on or off that you didn't intend to. Seems like there's some middle ground between, "This just happens when you're cooking, so don't turn everything off" and "this heats up stuff really fast so we got you..." Still happy with the purchase overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable / Consistent Heat / Easy to Clean I've had this cook top for just over a year; zero problems. It can boil water in under a minute, is easy to clean and is basically flawless. For me, it meets or exceeds all other cook top duties but is incredibly easy to clean. I'm no neat freak but my stove top is now nearly spotless at all times. You can even cook with a rag on stove top between pot so grease splatters are caught before they hit the surface. Cons: It draws quite a few amps, so you may need to run a new electric line for it. The controls to adjust temp is a bit touchy so sometimes it takes a couple touches to get it to the exact temp setting you want. Don't buy it for the wifi capabilities because in this (my) iteration it is only for monitoring stove top temp settings; no adjusting temps.
