Rated 5 out of 5 by homebody from Excellent high quality filtration The 1900 is excellent for removing dust and recommend it for open plan homes where cooking odors easily navigate into other living areas. I also noticed a dramatic difference in the frequency I needed to dust. However, I would not recommend this high quality filter to those who are not diligent in changing their home filter on schedule. This filter must be changed on schedule in order for the ac system to work effectively but it is well worth the investment. I also noticed that my electric bill decreased. Although I cannot make a direct link to the Filtrete 1900, I do think that it does help the system operate more efficiently.

Rated 1 out of 5 by wreck91 from Contact HVAC specialist first! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Filtrete 1900 to replace a washable electrostatic filter. Within a week of installing this filter, I started having problems with my system and had to have a HVAC technician come check on it. Although my heat pump and air handler were installed only three years ago, the ductwork was installed when the house was built 40 years ago. Apparently, this new air filter restricted air flow so much that it damaged the air return ductwork. The technician said that we should be using the Filtrete Basic pleated filters and changing them monthly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by porge from I was really amazed how much of a difference a good air filter will make as far as how good your furnace will run. My furnace atually mal-functioned as far as it wouldn't ignite the burners from what I assume was a clogged filter. A mistake on my part as I couldn't believe how much this filter actually caught and how quick it took. We do have a few cats and I assume between the litter dust and the cat hair the filter was a mess when I took it out. In just 3 months it seemed to be enough to cause this problem! It's amazing how much of a difference such a relatively inexpensive item can change the furnace's efficiency if not its function altogether!

This filter does a remarkable job of getting the impurtities out of the air when I am using my heating and air conditioning unit. It is the best one I have ever used and I have been using this particular filter for over a year. I have allergies to dust and pollen, in addition to having a lung disease which needs the cleanest air possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carol from Filtrete AC Filters This is the very best AC filter I have ever used. I have multiple allergies & asthma. After a few weeks of use, pulled filter out & amazed to see what all it had picked (sucked)up. It was truly amazing. I have been using these filters for a year now, and would never use another kind again. I am an RN, and have recommended these spectacular filters to everyone I know. I do not know why I just found these filters a year ago. I can guarantee, for anyone to sample or use these filters for 6 months or more, will never go back to their old filters again!! My hat and backing definitely go to the Filtrete Company (3M) for their production of these filters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by msidoric from Best choice for clean air Living in a restored 90-year-old farmhouse, I wanted best filter possible on my new HVAC. After trying several MPR grades of Filtrete – I've settled on the 1900 Series, changed every sixty days. Filtrete offers excellent filtration with robust airflow, and keeps allergens and dust at minimum. In my experience for the past two years – nothing beats Filtrete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hawaii Dave from Which One To Buy? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Filtrete air filters in my A/C since my house was built. First I started with the red filters (1000), but upgraded to the purple (1500) ones and now the blue (1900) version. The 1500 and 1900 versions have much more filter surface area to catch particles than the 1000 version so I use only those now. But frankly, I can't say whether the blue 1900 version is any better than the purple 1500 filter. I think it's more important to make sure you don't let your filters go too long between changes. My neighbor only changes his when they start looking like a fur coat. That's way too long and will overtax your HVAC. He's already had to replace his central A/C after only twelve years. Tip: write the date you installed the new filter all along its frame. That way you can see the date just by looking up at the air return without having to get a ladder and opening it up.

Wherever we could get them at a good price, we purchase 'em by the case. After learning of my father's diagnosis of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), we started using Filtrete Air Filters. We noticed that the air quality in the entire house was different and my father was breathing easier. When we received service on our HVAC system, the technician said that "we must be changing our filters every week!" Needless to say, we'd rather spend a little more for better air quality than to pay for a new HVAC system.
