These Fiskars cutters only need one hand. The tool cuts through branches with minimal hand-force. If you have joint issues, this is the tool to get! It’s a comfortable fit in your hand and does all the work for you (just as a well-made tool should do!). The locking mechanism is definitely a plus as it keeps the blade secure which prevents accidentally cuts when not in use. I’m not sure as to the maximum circumference this pruner will manage but everything I trimmed was cut without struggle. A must-have for anyone with a yard!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jenny from Okay pruner, not my favorite. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pruner would work best for larger hands. I tried pruning a few dead branches on my bottle brush. This pruner came out of alignment after the third branch. I was able to work the handles back and forth and it snapped back together. I did use it on small diameter branch les that was 3/4” or smaller. I have small hands so maybe that was the issue. They look nice and the handles felt like they had a nice grip to them. The locking mechanism was easy enough to use with one hand. They cut nicely through the wood until it became out of alignment. I’ll continue to use but as a back up. But it won’t be my first choice .

I cut a branch with these in my backyard, they cut like a knife through butter. I was very impressed. I like that it has a button for locking the pruning shears. The branch pieces did not stick to the pruners or gum it up. This comes with a full lifetime warranty which is really good. I really like this and will use it often to spruce up my yard because it's so easy to use without any pain in my hands. Plus this is made well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WeimaranerTestingLabs from A larger cousin to their great 5/8" pruners [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used the older 5/8" version for many years to great satisfaction. I've always been completely happy with any Fiskars product and preferentially buy their version when I am in comparison mode and need to decide. While roughly the same size, the 3/4" version's pivot point at the jaws is more central and thus provides a little more direct leverage. My wife found that the older 5/8" version sat more comfortably in her hand and that she had to choke up slightly on the newer 3/4" version. The movement of the blade lock from the face of the tool to the top of the handle took a moment or two to get used to. Great tool. If you have smaller hands, I would go with the smaller version. Fiskars makes so many variations of pruners that you will definitely find one that suits both your needs and your grip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chas from Don't Waste Your Money This pruner is terrible. Oh, it works if you cut right on the sweet spot, but otherwise even very small cuttings are difficult. I've used Fiskars pruners for a long time. My old one that says 320 on the blade has been great. This one that says 1201 on the blade is not as sturdy and is a really poor-quality product. I'm just going to throw it away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Carl from Don't buy This pruner seems to cut fine but half the time a twig your cutting will push the blades apart without cutting. This jams the cutters and you have to pull handles apart. Very annoying. Shouldn't have to but try cutting keeping the cutters square across the piece but still does it constantly. After investigating closely I found that in the closed position you could pull the blades apart withe your fingers. And noticed that the main pivoting body has plastic which must allow too much flexing. Will be returning but too bad these stores don't know how to properly vet these products. I bought this because have two old ones that don't do this and you cannot pull the blades apart but they are missing the springs now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Javahead from Tougher than it looks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pruner is a gardener’s dream-come-true. It cuts though the small stuff like it’s butter, and slices through larger items with relative ease—including some that one would expect to reserve for a lopper. I was amazed at how it took on branches up to ¾ – inch in diameter. Equally amazing is how well the blade holds that highly-effective edge. I have given the pruner quite a workout, and it is still sharp and strong as ever. When the pruner is not in use, the blade locks shut with a slide of a switch. This switch does not stick like the ones on so many other pruners. The handle design would be quite comfortable for a gardener with large hands. My medium-sized hands would be better served if the handle spread was not quite so wide. As is, they become fatigued with heavy use. This is my only criticism of this pruner. In spite of its single imperfection, it is a welcome addition to my yard work arsenal.

Wish I had read reviews prior to purchase, but I made my purchase based on quality of past Fiskars products I have purchased. This product is definitely not up to par. Don't waste your time or money.
