To spray a deck with semi transparent stain and sealer do you need 1 coat or two?

Asked by: mt123
If the deck has never been finished before, two coats is a nice way to start. Follow the stain manufacturers suggestions. The Flexio 570 will make it easy.

Can I use acrylic exterior paint? I tried to use it and it was splattering big blobs and oozing out of the nozzle. What can I use to clean the machine after as warm soapy water doesn't work best with acrylic paints.

Asked by: Lee0506
For spraying. Make sure the paint is good and no chunks in it. All sprayer parts need to be clean and tight and spray dial is wide open. Clean with warm water and soap.

Approximately how many gallons of acrylic exterior paint would be need to spray a room 300 sq ft? I went through a gallon and only sprayed a quarter of the room and it looks like it needs another coat.

Asked by: Lee0506
You should be able to cover the room with one gallon per coat and you shouldn't expect one coat to cover. For the next try, keep the power at max but cut down on paint flow for better atomization, and the paint will go farther. For more tips call us at 1-800-328-8251.

Can I paint by tilting the spray gun on its side or pointed down while standing up?

Asked by: Chrisbcal
All spray guns are meant to be sprayed directly down. However, the gun never needs to tilt sideways as the nozzle will do that so the gun doesn't have to. For more spraying tips call us at 1-800-328-8251.

Can automotive paints such as 2 part urathanes and base coat clear coat be sprayed through this.

Asked by: Riley yyyyy
As long as the paint or finish is water based or oil based it should be fine. You cannot clean these guns with acetone or lacquer thinner. For more help call us at 800-328-8251.

I intend to stain a large board and batten 3 story high 150' x150' ,would need a extension rod on sprayer, what would you reccommend?

Asked by: Padraig
There is not any extension rods available for the Flexio 570. We do have the available for our airless pump. I would recommend looking at our Control Pro HEA sprayer. They allow for the extensions and are able to feed from a 1 or 5 gallon pale of paint. If you would like to discuss more on these sprayers or have any other questions or needs please feel free to contact our technical support staff at 1(800)328-8251.

"Flexio 570" Paint Gun is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 88.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best DIY Sprayer The Wagner Flexio HVLP paint sprayer has everything you could want if your looking to paint Inside or outside your home. Im not a professional painter by any means, but I am on a tight budget, so paying a painter was out of the question, and using a brush and roller would turn my weekend off of work, into a weekend of work. IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS the sprayer is will preform excellent. Clean up took 20 minutes and Im very satisfied with the purchase. So all in all, great sprayer , smooth finish, latex paint sprayed no problem, easy to clean, and as easy to use as a sprayer can be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sprays thick paint no problem Borrowed my brothers old Wagner spray gun to paint the outside of my garage but the 220 model did not have enough power to spray the thick acrylic latex paint i bought. Decided to give the 570 model a try and it worked like a champ. One tip which the manual recommends is to wipe off the spray nozzle occasionally but i would recommend doing it every time you refill the paint pot, also wipe off the "ears" that stick up around the nozzle, if you let paint build up on those it will distort the spray pattern and cause a lot of over spray - it only takes a few seconds with a wet rag. Over all a great little gun for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped Working Correctly in 3 hours Purchased this today July 31 2016. Brought it home, read all directions got it all set up and started painting. It was working very well and was pleased with it. After about 45 minutes it kept getting clogged up and was spattering paint every where. Followed trouble shooting guide to a "T". Started working again and in about 15 minutes it was spattering all over. This time I took it apart, gave it a good cleaning and put it all back together which is very easy. Filled with paint and it was spattering paint every where. Got all over my basement floor which was not a huge deal but this thing is terrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Wagner needs to go back to the drawing board wit this one. Will be going back to Lowes tomorrow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from When it works it's great Iv had this unit for two years and only used it three times. I stained 30ft. Of deck railings, worked great. Stained a gazebo, worked great. And the walls on my basement steps, very small area and worked great. The unit still looks good hardly any paint on it. It's was always cleaned up right away. Went to use it after sitting for a year. I put water in the tank to make sure it was working and it was so I switched to paint sprayed almost a two foot strip and the motor blew sparks and black soot out. It looked up. Sounded like a barring went out. I don't think I over used it. For it not to last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Is Heavy, but paints well This sprays very well. Tilts the spray from horizontal to vertical. Functions very well while spraying down, due to the design of the pick up tube in the paint container. It is heavy to hold and paint a lot. Arm fatigue will develop, regardless of your strength. Clean up is easy, but there are several small parts that make up the nozzle and they must be reassembled correctly. Large jobs will require frequent refills of the container. The painting is fast, but refills will slow things down a bit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easy to use, but poor results I was ecstatic when I bought the Wagner FLEXiO 570 and couldn't wait to try it. I had 5 new doors to paint with (gasp) Behr Premium Plus Ultra semi-glass white interior paint. I followed the directions, and filled the cup and began painting. The paint pattern was heavy to the right side when painting with a horizontal pattern, so I switched to the vertical pattern, and it was heavy to the bottom. This resulted in large splatters on the heavy side. I had to go over all the doors with a brush afterwards to smooth out the splatter marks. I also tried this sprayer with Valspar Signature Paint & Primer in a flat wall paint. I had the same results with the uneven spray and resulting splatter. I even tried thinning the paint with water, same results, smaller splatters. This unit will unfortunately be going back to Lowe's. Here's to hoping for an easy return, and the continued use of traditional painting techniques. Better grab some new rollers while I'm there...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy tom use once the settings are correct It works very well and makes a little paint cover a large area. But unless you take a few moments to get the flow and air adjustments correct for the weight of what you are spraying, you'll have issues like dribbling paint out of the nozzle and loads of overspray. This can ALL be avoided.
