Rated 4 out of 5 by bluetea from If you like high pitch noise I bought the Frigidaire 35 pint 3 speed dehumidifier 2 days ago. I was quite pleased with it overall, however, once the compressor turns on, there is a high pitch noise. The fan noise fan is good, however, the high pitch noise was enough to keep me up a night. I called Frigidaire and asked if there was anything I could do to lessen or get rid of the high pitch noise. They said that it is with all their dehumidifiers and cannot get rid of it. So, although I liked everything else about this humidifier, I could not stand the high pitch noise. I returned it. If you can put up with the high pitch noise then I recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dehumidifier is not the quietest thing in the world - but since no one hangs around down in the basement where it works, the fairly loud blower motor is not a problem. The 35 pint water reservoir is relatively heavy when full, and you must be careful when removing it to empty, or you will spill water on the floor. The plastic handle on the water reservoir is not well-designed and is obviously cheaply made and you could cut your hand on it when lifting it out of the main unit, if you are not careful. So, it works well, not particularly well designed, and typical of foreign-sourced home appliances, I guess.

However after buying this dehumidifier I feel like I wanna scream from the mountain tops. I was having troubles in my house with perspiring windows and condensation I live in Victoria British Columbia so let’s say it’s very wet here. After buying this unit I was skeptical that I would even make a dent but it ran overnight and all my windows are dry not a drip of water not a streak not a drop. I’m blown away by this machine because it’s sitting in the middle of my living room and it’s managed to pick up an entire bucket of water in one day. I would recommend this unit for anyone

Rated 4 out of 5 by RomanP from Does the job [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using it for my 800 sq ft finished semi-basement in Westchester county NY where standard humidity during summer time is about 60% with occasional spikes up to 70-80 when i'm trying to keep the patio door open during summer time and rains. I always run it at the lowest fan setting with occasional high/mid. It is slightly louder than advertised 47 db, actually 50-52. Bucket change happens every day during humidity spikes, and ever y 2-3 days during normal run. I rated it as good, not excellent, because for the given price i would like to have more smarter controls, like scheduler or auto mode fan

Rated 4 out of 5 by BlakieG123 from Warranty replacement [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received this dehumidifier as a warranty replacement for an earlier version of this dehumidifier that died after only 3 summers of use. Overall this one is attractive, quiet, and has been working well thus far. My issue with the design is that previous versions drew air in from the front of the unit and blew the dehumidified air from the top back. This one draws air in from the back and blows it out the top front, necessitating it to be farther out from a wall. It is more unsightly and takes up more space than its predecessor. We will have to see how long this one lasts.

With the help of this dehumidifier the clothes are dry in under 2 hours. It is not quiet, but it is as quiet as or quieter than other moderate-humidity units at 51 dB or lower. The water reservoir design could be improved - I find it to be awkward to empty. In addition I would prefer the reservoir to be accessible from the back instead of the front, and for the air to blow out the front/bottom of the unit rather than the top. I like to be able to put a pair of boots on top to dry, for example.

I manually empty out the water bucket, but it is easy to remove and carry it. After about a week it started shutting itself off for short periods as it got the humidity level under control in our apartment. Removing and cleaning the filter is easy, although the directions aren't the greatest on removing the filter. It required seperating it from the removable cover which is not mentioned, but it is flexible and comes off fairly easy. It was still very clean when the filter warning light came on. The wheels are great because we move it between rooms daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rdepontb from Quiet, efficient, easy to use and maintain [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to help handle the damp feeling our basement can get during the summer months. This is the quietest large-space humidifier I've ever "almost" heard! Our family dart-board lane is just five feet away, and this unit runs without guests even being aware of it. I was able to run a drain hose from the unit, through a wall, and then down the AC drain, so there's no issue with having to empty the collector bucket (although that was a simple task before installing the hose to the built-in connector). The filter is very easy to access and clean. Thoughtfulness and quality are immediately obvious!
