I have a pot with the bottom size of 8.25. the large element says minimum pot size 9 1/16. Is the minimum size an absolute or is there some flexibility? Also. What happens if the pan is more then 1/2 inch larger than the cross lines of the element?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this stove because of the control with the heat they demonstrated to me in the showroom. Very Impressive! I have not been let down so far. I did have to purchase new pots and pans for it to work. My hard anodized ones did not have the steel bottom to make it acknowledge that a pan was sitting on it. My cast iron skillet worked perfectly. Anyway, a minor expense for the features you gain. Not only is heat control great, clean-up is a breeze. No more scrubbing to get the burned on residue off of the glass. I am really enjoying this stove.

After it was installed we bought an All Clad saucepan and it took almost 8 minutes to boil a few cups of water. We had buyers remorse but then realized it was the pot after using a cast iron pot next. The saucepan went back and we ordered a new set of stainless cookware and are loving the cooktop. Very precise! Also, we first only used the power boil feature and the humming sound was a bit ofd but unless you are using that feature it is quiet. I enjoy cooking with this very much.

I wanted an induction cooktop with knobs and this was one of the few option available. I use bump dots so I know which buurner and temp I want, cannot do that with a toucuhpad. The bridge works great for my griddle to cook pankcake and baon. Only complaint, I wish the smallest burner was slightly larger. The induction is so much safer than the radiant. I have had this for almoth a month and love it. A little expensive, but well worth the money, I am hoping to get their matching oven when I have the funds to do so.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TexasTerri from Beautiful Cooktop, Quiet, Knobs are Delicate [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the past 8 years, i've been cooking on portable induction hobs so it's great to finally have an actual induction cooktop with the ability to heat more than a couple of pans at a time. If you haven't used an induction cooktop, you'll love the ease of cleanup, the speed of cooking and the pleasure of stirring pots without excess heat in the kitchen. I've been using this cooktop for almost 3 weeks. It's quiet - no buzzing that some cooktops create. The manual warns about scratching the cooktop so I've been careful not to slide pans across it and it's been pretty easy to keep looking good. The power levels run from High, then 9 and continue in .5 increments down to Lo which is the equivelent of 1. Level 2 seems to keep a heated pot of water at a steady boil so there isn't much range at the low end of the heat scale. I never needed a double boiler with the portable hobs but I'll be using it with this cooktop. Still, I'm sure I'll adjust to it. This cooktop is available with flat touchscreen controls but I opted for the knobs. I haven't had a cooktop with knobs in years but I was feeling nostalgic for them. They can be gently removed for occasional cleaning underneath them. The only reason I didn't give this cooktop 5 stars is that the metal knobs are not very durable. Within 2 weeks of installation, I noticed that one knob has a gouge in the metal. I've been careful with pans and have no idea how the damage occured. The knobs may not hold up well so be cautious about whatever is around them. Other than that, I'm pleased with the cooktop. It's very straightforward - no timers, no indication of actual cooking temperature or other bells and whistles. But I knew that when I ordered it. I hope it holds up well.

We bought a little one burner a year ago just to try it out. We were so happy we started looking around for a replacement for our slow and inefficient cooktop. We found the Frigidaire unit, had it installed and begin using it right away. It is even faster than the little one burner induction unit we had. In the power boost mode it will boil 4 cups of water in a minute and a half. We love it and are recommending it to all our friends.

I don't like the knobs; they make it difficult to clean - you can't just wipe the cook top clean. Also, you turn on the wrong burner, but don't have a pot on it, it just blinks forever. Our other induction cook top would turn off if you turned on the wrong hob. It was a poor design choice for an induction cook top and a poor decision on our part. Pros: I like the layout of the burners/hobs and it's induction. Our fault for choosing poorly. I hope it lasts, but if I money grew on trees, I'd replace it now.

Not sure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I replaced my Frigidaire radiant halogen cooktop with this Frigidaire Professional unit. It looks great, but I cannot say it cooks that much faster than the radiant unit if at all, but it does cook at least as fast. I will say control is superior due to the direct heating of the cookware versus transferred heat from radiant. The benefits of not getting hot are less useful because it does get hot from the cookware. I do not see anything that can be done about that, however, it does cool down faster. One big warning: The Professional line does not have the same overall dimensions or cutouts as the standard or Gallery line so be warned that the "It Fits" guarantee does not apply. I was able to order a trim kit from a 3rd party however and that solved the issue.

Easy to clean with removable knobs. The knobs are an excellent choice over the push button functions because fingers are usually wet when cooking and touch sensitive buttons don't work so well with wet fingers. The surface is easily cleaned and only gets slightly warm with induction, never hot enough to burn on food. Highly recommended.
