We are redoing our kitchen with Frigidaire appliances including a wall mounted range hood. What has Frigidaire done to address problems with noisy / faulty motors in range hoods?

Rated 1 out of 5 by Alexxm from Worst hood even worse warranty service. I bought one and the second time I turned it on just stopped working. They sent out a repair guy three times who was an able to solve the problem. This back-and-forth continued for a couple of months. Finally I was able to get a replacement unit. That was installed only to fail again with the same issues 5 months later. Best part is I have a tile backsplash and now I have to pay out of pocket to have the backsplash redone before installing a completely different hoodfan. This needs to be done so that I can cover the holes which were made to install the original hood fan.

At first the noise was a concern but for that number of CFM I'm ok to accept this inconvenience. My biggest problem is on a diner with gests the hood fan stopped working after the third time usage. That was really embarrassing. Now because of this experience, we are not sure if we lean on the warranty or just buy another brand the fact if the warranty replace the broken part with the same problem parts.

They are all frigidaire and we are very pleased with all...except the range hood. It looks great but is practically unusable because of the noise level. It also stopped working the second time we used it and now we need it repaired. I'm hoping we can just replace it with a quieter hood.

Mine has gone out twice and i was informed don't use the high setting as the motor will go out again. I'm not sure why Frigidaire is still selling this with this known defect. Don't buy this model.

It is a true vent to the outside, it really does a great job! We upgraded the lights to an LED bulb and love it. Our only complaint is that even on the lowest speed...you can't hear yourself think. At just over a year old, we also just noticed that all the markings under the buttons just seemed to rub off and disappear. Obviously still usable, and I know what button does what....but really?

Repair service came in in 4 days waiting to be called in and repair.. So, now 2 weeks w/o the vent hood in a kitchen, who knows if it will be repaired or another visit is required. Will see. Because of reliability, can't give it more than 3 of 5.

It is extremely noisy, even on the lowest fan setting, but deafening on the highest setting. The filters don't line up correctly when installed, and the whole thing appears to be made out of extremely thin and flimsy metal. Disappointing.

After having an unbalanced fan replaced under warranty the noise level only dropped to 92 and on the lowest setting it's 77 decibels. It works efficiently but is only used when absolutely essential.
