Réno-Dépôt will guide you throughout the entire project. As a first step, you need to submit your information by using our interactive tool or by filling out our online form. Once that’s done, you will be contacted by a Garaga specialist to confirm the door style, materials, colours, and service options. Once the quote is approved, it will take between 4 and 8 weeks to produce your Garaga door. You cannot cancel your order once your door is in production.

Then, the installer will contact you to arrange for the removal of your current door and the installation of your new garage door. It is important to remember that your installation service does not include modifications to the existing structure and the removal or reinstallation of safety equipment and electrical wiring. At the very end of the installation, your installer will make sure to clean the site and leave with your old garage door.

How to calculate the square footage:

Step 1: Measure the existing door opening’s width (A) and height (B) in feet and inches. This determines the size of door needed. Never base your measurements on the size of the existing door but on the door’s opening instead.

Step 2: Measure for sideroom, left side (C) and right side (D).
• 6 inches is required on each side for installation of vertical tracks.
• Make sure no entry door will interfere with the horizontal tracks and the door.

Step 3: Measure area labeled “headroom” (E). Distance between the top of the door opening and the ceiling (or floor joists):
• 8 ½” is required for standard extension spring.
• 12” is required for standard torsion spring.
• Add 2" more for electric opener.
• If you have restricted headroom, special hardware is available.
Note: If door height extends above the opening, the headroom measurement should be taken from the top of the top panel to the ceiling.

Step 4: Measure area labeled “backroom” (F). Distance is measured from the garage door opening toward the back wall of the garage.
• Door height plus 24” is required.
• Additional backroom (door height + 48") may be required for installation of an automatic garage door opener.
• Make sure no lighting or other material will interfere with the door sections when moving.

Once the selection of your garage door is finalized and the payment is done, a licensed and insured Garaga installer will contact you for an appointment at your home to take all the necessary measures.

Second consultation

A second visit may be necessary to review certain measurements and confirm additional details.

It’s installation day! Ensure the space is prepped and ready for installation.

That means:
• Clearly display your renovation permit
• You must remove any object from the work area before the installer arrives
• You must disconnect your garage door opener (if applicable)
• A clear path should be made to the space receiving installation
• Floors should be protected to avoid potential damage*

Appointment confirmation

The installer will call ahead of time to confirm his estimated time of arrival and review safety steps with you.

Safety measures

All installers are required to pass a daily health screening, they must wear personal protective equipment, and sanitize work area and tools on each job.

Likewise, we require customers to practice social distancing at all times while installers are performing their job.

Certification

All installers are background checked, licensed where applicable and insured.

In order to be a part of our Independent Installer program, all contractors must go through the toughest rating test of all – your satisfaction.

Yes, all Réno-Dépôt installers have liability insurance.

Do I have to give a deposit?
Yes, a 50% deposit is required when you sign the installation services contract. The remaining 50% must be paid before the work begins. Alternatively, the full amount can be paid when signing the contract.
