When do I have to pay for the installation?

You must put down a 50% deposit or make full payment before the installation starts.

Do I have to put down a deposit?

Yes, you must put down a 50% deposit upon signing the installation contract. The remaining 50% must be paid before the work begins. You can also pay the full amount when you sign the contract.

Depending on the type of project, payment can be made in store, through our call centre, or right at your home via our mobile payment system.

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard and Build Up Plan credit card. Cash payments are accepted only in store.

Yes, absolutely! Our Build Up Plan program offers a choice of financing solutions with the option to pay in installments.

How do I find out the installation cost for my project?

Fixed price installation costs are available online, in-store, via online form or by contacting our call centre at 1-844-RENO-911

When can I get an appointment for a consultation?

Appointments are available between Monday and Friday. If these hours are inconvenient for you, we can find another time more suitable for you.

Do I have to accept the quote?

No, you do not have to accept the quote at the proposal stage. Quotes stay in effect for 30 days. However, if you signed the installation contract and the project has started, or if the materials you need for your project have been ordered, a cancellation fee will be charged if you change your mind.

I live in a remote area. Do you offer the installation service in my area?

Our installation services are available within a 35 km radius of your Réno-Dépôt store. Some fees are charged if you live outside this radius. If an installation service is not available in your area, we recommend the services of Smart Réno, a home renovation referral service, which will provide you with a recommendation from three certified contractors right for your project.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, all of our installations are covered by a one-year warranty, including labour and products. Plus, the warranties for certain materials for your project may be beyond one year.

Labour is covered by a one-year warranty (except for certain services). Parts and materials are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

What are your criteria for choosing installers?

We choose installers who have exemplary business practices. We ensure that their licences are up-to-date, they have no criminal record and references from their clients are positive. We validate their tax numbers and conduct a credit check. In addition, they must comply with the Réno-Dépôt's Code of Conduct.

How do you make sure your customers are satisfied?

We can provide supervision throughout the project. Once any installation is completed, the installer and customer inspect the work together to ensure that everything meets the customer's expectations. If everything is approved, the customer signs an acceptance form. Then, we contact each customer to ask them to fill out a survey to share feedback on how the project worked out.

What do your installations involve?

For minor plumbing, water heater installation and general assembly projects, the work can be done in a few hours. For large projects, the length of the work varies according to the project's complexity and tasks.

When can you start ... and finish?

For small projects, work is usually done within days of your purchase. Within 24 to 72 hours of your purchase, our call centre will contact you to schedule your installation appointment.

For major projects, please allow time for essential steps such as planning, taking action and ordering the work.

Here are some examples of regular installation times:
  • Water heaters - 48 hours or more
  • Heat pumps - 2 to 4 weeks
  • Air conditioners - 2 to 4 weeks
  • Doors and windows - 4 to 6 weeks
  • Roofing - 2 to 4 weeks
  • Sheds - 2 to 6 weeks
Emergency water heater installations are also available for a fee of $225.

What is included?

Our contractors are equipped with the tools they need to take measurements and do the actual installation. To make your installation go smoothly and improve the flow of traffic in your home, your work site should be clear of obstacles and unnecessary objects.

What is your work schedule?

Our installers mostly do their work during regular business hours. If the customer cannot be present, a person aged 18 or over must be on site for the visit or installation.
