Firstly the tractor is too light to be able to cope with wet or deep snow or ice you would be much better off buying a separate snow blower which is what I did after talking to a friend who had stopped using his John Deere snowblower after two years of trying.
Next the cutting deck does work, but the tractor has no mechanism for locking the differential which means that if I drive it down a slope one wheel spins when I try to back it up. I then have to winch it back up the slope by hand. The rear wheels are hydro statically driven however the hydro static unit is belt driven as is the deck, because of this the deck must be stopped before putting the tractor into reverse an ill thought out cost saving measure. I advise that you check with a dealer before buying a tractor as some have better features than others for about the same price, the fact that I'm writing this review for you talks volumes about the expertise exhibited by Lowe's.
I ordered my tractor on line and lost out on over a hundred air miles because the air mile card number must be used at the time of purchase, due to poor attention to detail by those who constructed the web site there was no opportunity to use it at the time of purchase as is offered by other online retailers. Both Lowe's customer service and management were indifferent to this problem to the point of complacency, I found out from another neighbor that this is a common problem.
When writing this review a secure browser which is not my default was pulled up and I could not send the review as the add blocker prevented it, another annoying problem caused by poor web site programing.
