Description

A combination of style and functionality, this KitchenAid® wine cellar features two temperature-controlled zones to help preserve the flavour and integrity of individual wines and allows white and red wines to be stored at a separate temperatures. The 46 wine bottle capacity is the perfect size for a collector. The SatinGlide® metal-front racks provide a smooth movement. The upper zone adjusts from 42 to 54 °F for whites while the lower zone can be set from 42 to 64 °F for reds. The UV-protected thermal glass doors filters UV rays to help protect wine and other beverages from premature aging. The proximity-activated light make it easy to find items inside the unit without having to open the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by disgruntled buyer from Misleading description, Bought this model after my previous kitchenaid wine fridge compressor failed. Not only will it not hold the advertised number of bottles unless they are all half-bottles or something like ice-wine bottles, but the space between racks is not big enough for most pinot or any bottle shape other than slender. About half of my wines from 8 different wineries will not fit at all, it all depends on how wide the bottle for that particular winery and vintage is at the bottom. Three quarters of the pinot bottles and a quarter of the whites are too big to fit between the racks. Do not buy this unless you are using it to store pint, beer or soda bottles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cody's Mom from Beautiful wine cooler I recently installed this wine cooler under the counter of my wetbar in the new home I'm building. I got the panel ready because I'm having panels made that match the doors on the bar cabinets. In reading the reviews that state that "normal size" wine bottles do not fit in this wine cooler, I'm not sure what the problem is. Normal/typical size wine bottles, red and white fit fine. The larger, over-sized bottles would not fit, but the regular ones fit just fine. I don't buy "half split" size which are much smaller, but they certainly would fit too. I wanted to do this review in case anyone is considering this make and model and are concerned whether or not their wine bottles would fit.

We have had the unit for 5 years and it has never worked correctly and now has quit working all together we have had 2 different Kitchenaid Products and both have had the coil go out at the connection. And of course the are out of warranty now. You would think these products would last longer than a few years. So do not buy these products if you want them to last cause that will not happen. and for the money you would think they would have better quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AM from Poor reliability, not worth the cost This product came with the house when it was built in 2008. It lasted 3 years and then stopped working. We paid someone to come recharge the refrigerant, that lasted 6 months and died again. I agree with other reviewers, looks nice, but reliability is bad. For the cost to repair this unit, we can buy a brand new one. I wish Kitchenaid would stand behind these expensive appliances that they make and take care of their customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by disgruntledbuyer from Misleading advertising - does not fit 46 bottles Bought this model to replace the equivalent model(no longer made) that died after 5 years. Not only can you only get 46 bottles in if they are all 12 oz beer or soda bottles, but most pinot and many other bottles that are not extremely narrow won't even fit between the racks without scraping the label off if you can even force it in. Do not buy this unless you only plan to store beer, soda or half-bottles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disgusted from Poor Design and Shoddy Assembly Purchased April 2016, installed, and tested for 2 days. In general this cooler is designed and built solely to look impressive. I found nothing to suggest any priority for function or enduring service after the initial purchase. 1) The door of my unit was sufficiently miss-aligned to the body that opening the bottom drawer/rack required pressing the door seal back away from the drawer to gain clearance. 2) The drawer immediately below the display panel does not provide sufficient space for average size wine bottles. Wine bottles with circumference 25.5 cm and larger may fit in this drawer by deflecting the display panel which is directly above. Placing 4 or 5 average bottles in this drawer results in a press fit situation that tears the bottle label and drags all bottles to the back of the drawer when it is opened. 3) The flexible lip below the display which is intended to create a barrier between the upper and lower zone is attached by a very weak adhesive which barely survives the unpacking process. This flexible lip did not contact the front door glass when the door was closed. 4) Temperature controls require the top zone to be the cooler zone. Because the bottom zone is not physically isolated it is not possible to attain a sufficiently less cool temperature in bottom zone. The unit deliverd to me was essentially a one zone cooler, having 4 useful drawers, and some fancy useless electronic controls. It's functional utility little more than that of a xmas tree.

"46 Wine Bottle Capacity Provides large capacity to easily chill and display a full selection of wines." It may hold 46 bottles but all have to be mini-skinny bottles and NOT the "full selection" because if you want champaign or pinot noir any bottle slightly different size, you have to remove racks. Not adjust racks, REMOVE RACKS. See previous reviewer who states the same (I've cut and pasted relevant portion below) which basically states that bottles over a certain circumference do NOT fit. What KitchenAid is advertising is false. "2) The drawer immediately below the display panel does not provide sufficient space for average size wine bottles. Wine bottles with circumference 25.5 cm and larger may fit in this drawer by deflecting the display panel which is directly above. Placing 4 or 5 average bottles in this drawer results in a press fit situation that tears the bottle label and drags all bottles to the back of the drawer when it is opened." So while the cooler offers an option in set the temperature on the control panel specifically for Champagne, if you want Champagne, you can't adjust the racks to fit, you have to remove an entire rack. Thus NOT a 46 bottle storage devise. Don't buy KitchenAid. They lie in description. They do NOT provide a good customer service experience once it's too late and you have purchased product. Correct customer service is to replace product with one that performs as advertised. Or better yet, retrofit the product so that the racks can be adjusted. But I guess they prefer to lie to you and sell you on max bottles than sell you a product that takes care of you and your wine.
