This ice maker from KitchenAid will supply you with all the ice you need to keep your beverages cool. Rated 5 out of 5 by Riverview from Quiet and productive [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this ice maker as a replacement for its predecessor model from 2005. KitchenAid had maintained the same overall dimensions so it slipped right into the same space. One noticeable improvement is the controls and hopefully the electronics. We'd had issues with the electronic control board in the previous mode where it would get stuck in a cycle and require powering on and off to clear the problem. This one doesn't have those same problems.

The first one lasted 11 years and required several repairs. We purchased a new one in 2019, and luckily it has a 3 year warranty because it suddenly quit making ice. I’ve used the correct water filter plus done routine cleaning with approved cleaner, and here we are with a broken-down machine. We have hard water, but seriously, I’ve done everything to mitigate problems to no avail. I guess it’s a high price for frozen water because these machines are ridiculously priced.

I replaced the one I had for 38 years, I hope this one lasts that long. If your adding this ice machine under a counter use flex line. not copper tubing, your drain hose needs to be changed for a 3 1/2 foot one, and finally you will have to made your own mounting bracket like you would with a dishwasher.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice maker is a replacement for another Kitchen Aid Ice Maker I had for more years than I can remember, the compressor motor finally wore out. Since I think that you can't really make a good cocktail without these small cubes, and the fact that I love to chew this ice, I immediately bought a replacement. The new model has several nice improvements over the old one.

It wasn’t as easy as removing the old Subzero and replacing it with the Kitchenaid. The design of the Subzero was more forgiving for the drain, electrical and water shutoff valve. I had to do quite a bit of engineering to install the new machine. The new machine is a little noisier than the one it replaced. I hear more drain noise and clunks when the ice is being harvested. In general though, I’m pretty please with the machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband has to have "good" ice and we both love the Kitchenaid Ice Maker ice! We've had a standalone ice maker in our family room since buying our home in 1996. Our last Kitchenaid standalone ice maker was purchased in 2005 after the ice maker that came with the house broke (wasn't a Kitchenaid). This year, the machine stopped working. Repair man stated we needed a new compressor. We decided it was time to change out instead of doing the repair especially when we saw the changes made to the ice maker. Previously we had installed 2 water filters on the line to the ice maker. I'm sure that helped extend its life besides the cleanings. When I saw the new ice makers came with an installed filter, I was so pleased. We're still using the 2 water filters but with one in the ice maker itself, I feel like we'll really see longevity in the machine. Our old machine was not as well insulated as the new one. We could hear the ice drop and the water click on from downstairs. The new one is so silent that I kept checking on it every night to make sure it was operating. I was surprised to read reviews about the nose. Ours is installed in a bar and I can barely hear any noise standing next to it. One again I have a happy husband with his perfect ice.

I loved my first one, my second one and now this one. Once I got hooked on this ice I can't go back and have regular ice. I know that this appliance is a luxury but I work hard and this is well deserved. My ice maker is the most used appliance in my kitchen.

"This is definitely worth the wait!" The design is exceptional, the ice quality is superb, and the quality is fantastic!" We totally endorse this machine. The machine runs quieter, does not create the heat that my previous machine. The front is easy to open and close. I love the quality feel when you open and close. The Print Shield finish is a great feature. Quality feel opening and closing! I rarely hear the ice dumping once the . The ice maker even has a feature fo a water filter is you desire to use one, and a separate ice scooper area away from the ice. "I sure by now you know that I am totally sold on this product!" To top it all, the Kitchen Aid Ice Maker has a One Year Warranty which some of the other brandsI researched did not offer. "Couldn't be happier!" 5 + Stars in our opinion. -:( Couldn't be happier!
