Is this cordless?

Asked by: Pepper4life
Hello Pepper4life, No, this Kobalt 8 Amp tiller requires an extension cord ( not included) for operation.

I assembled my kobalt tiller 8and amp but it seems that instructions in the booklet for assembling tines are wrong.  When I tried to put the putter time D with stamped side facing in towards C  as per booklet I could not put pins in to hold tines. Help.

Asked by: brato
Hello brato, The two flutes should touch each other. If you are still having difficulties, please contact Kobalt 1-855-854-3057 for further support.

Re: the assembly instructions on page 12. If I place stamped D on left side as per instructions,to face toward tine C the tines will hit each other. Is this correct?

Asked by: markus97
Hello markus97, The tines should not be hitting each other. When placed correctly the two flutes should be touching and the angled edge of the tine blades should face the ground. If you are still having issues with this, please contact support at 1-855-854-3057.

Would this tiller work on a lawn that hasn't been dug or tilled before?

Kobalt 8.5-in Tines 8 A Corded Electric Tiller/Cultivator is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice This tiller met and exceeded my expectations! First of all I need to let you know, I'm a 70 year old female. The unit was easy to assemble, and easy to use. I found it tills best by tilling forward and then pulling it back toward you. My son borrowed it and his comments were the same as mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good little tiller Purchase not long ago based on my experience with Kobalt. Dug up a lawn area, not really built for this but did the job. I'm sure it'll be just excellent for the gardens and can't wait to give my gardens a good once over. Would always recommend Kobalt and Lowe's stands behind their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful for a little guy! Bought this machine as my front yard was scrapped frre of its old lawn and I had to start over. The soil had been tilled in the spring but was again full of weeds and a bit compacted, although not hard as rock. Now I'm 5'4", not big or strong, and have severe back pain, I cannot and do not want to hurt myself or go beyond my capabilities. I had some doubts about my tiller, but it was the only one I found that I thought I could handle easily. However, it is small, light, the tines do not have much of an angle, would they till much? Could it till to a depth I needed, be useful, not make more work for me? Well, yes! I am very pleasantly surprised! I tilled my whole yard in less than 2 hours, and that is with taking 5 or 6 breaks to relieves my "normal" back pain/spasms. Those breaks were good for the tiller to cool down. So the actual, straight tilling of a surface covered in weeds, about 40 by 40 feet, took me say 1 1/2 hours. The depth of my job was between 3-5 inches, the soil is nice and fine, the weeds are gone. Yay! The handle is comfortable, the handling easy. I never broke a sweat, the tiller goes where I want, easily, without jerking. The cord and its little rubber holder kept slipping down the "arm" of the tiller until I attached them higher up, near my right hand, near the handle. One still has to keep aware of the cord at all times, but that is not a poor design, it's what cords do. Overall, I really am pleased with this powerful little "big" tiller, it seems well built, nothing rattles or shakes, the instructions were easy to follow, it is user friendly. It certainly did a big job well, for me, in a decent time, without making me tired or uncomfortable. Another company has a bigger, more powerful machine for the same price, is theirs cheaper made? is mine a little higher in price than it should be? Don't know. What I know is that I am happy with my purchase. I personally highly recommend this tiller.
