Rated 1 out of 5 by Appliancedr73 from Terrible paint for appliances I run a used appliance store and we regularly do touch ups on appliances and had always had good luck using Rust Oleum brand appliance epoxy paint, the coverage was good and had a great finish on it when cured,this paint is very runny and does not cover well, even after shaking the can for 5 mins and prepping the surface as I have done numerous times, even on a flat surface the coverage is terrible. I have lost money on time, material and sales due to having to sell at a cheaper price because of cosmetics. The only reason I bought this brand was the store was out of my normal brand, should have gone to another store.

One of the items I thought I could save money by not replacing is an exhaust hood that doesn’t match the rest of the appliances. After scrubbing with degreaser and making sure the surface was clean, I carefully taped around the areas that I needed to protect, covered my cabinets and then started praying and spraying. It did a beautiful job. I was shocked. It applied a smooth coat, great coverage and looks beautiful.

I used this to paint the top of a dryer that was scratched, chipped and had other stains and marks. I sanded the surface lightly before painting with 600 grit. Some of the scratches were down to bare mettle but the directions on the can did not say anything about priming, and since this is marketed for appliances, I assumed it would be used to cover scratches, etc. After several coats, the scratches are not covered, I can still see metal. The rest of the surface looks good enough and I didn't have issues with the can or tip like others but the coverage is terrible.

Especially compared to the superb Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy that goes on smooth, covers well, blends with itself and leaves the best gloss finish in any rattle can paint I've ever used. Remember light thin multiple coats, let each dry and light again. Since this blends so well, you can get away with it here. I've even used it to paint cars with great results. If you really want gloss, used the Rustoleum clear auto lacquer, but generally the epoxy is glossy enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Texas Ed from Disappointing painting result The paint was not what I expected. It was difficult to spray and the result did not look at all like the original appliance paint. The paint also got on my hands and it was very difficult to get off. I used brush cleaner and that did not work. I had to use gasoline to get the paint off my hands and even then it still had to be scraped off my hands. The associate in the paint department recommended this paint and it was not the correct choice. It was an epoxy base and I believe a Rust oleum product may be the better choice. I think an acrylic paint would have worked much better for touch up not repainting the entire appliance.

The other had terrible coverage and was extremely runny. The nozzle leaks terribly and drips paint everywhere. Terrible design and horrible quality of paint. I will never buy this paint again. Please don’t use this paint, it will ruin your appliances.
