Lawn Mower - All Wheel - 190cm³ - 22'' is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 272.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely reliable After reading several negative reviews, I can't help but post my experience with the Husqvarna Honda powered AWD. In two months I'll have used this mower for six years, 12 months a year, on thick St Augustine type lawn. I've read reviews mentioning locked front wheels and clumps of grass. The front wheels obviously lock when engaged and moving forward. To cancel the AWD and pull the mower backwards, just let the mower glide forward a couple inches after releasing the drive control. You can also adjust the forward speed of this mower which will stop grass from clumping. It's all in the owner's manual, folks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design overall I've had mine exactly 3 years and 13 days. I know because I had to look up the original warranty date. I've already had it in the shop for repair of the drive system. The axle transmissions break easily, the blade adapter breaks easily. The plastic covers that are virtually all over it collect and hold large amounts of grass clippings and mud, which is what is happening to mine, rusting the deck from the underside out. You have to disassemble it to clean it properly. That's a major pain in the... When the grass clippings and mud collect, the drive system quits working. The last Husqvarna mower I owned worked great, but this 4wd model was a big waste of money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clumps of Grass.... Cut your grass twice! Fun! Either deck design or blade design was not prototyped prior to being put into production. I have to cut my yard twice each time I cut the grass. I am cutting between every 5-7 days and it still requires to be cut twice. Because it leaves clumps of grass behind. I am not using a bag. Even if I go slow it still does not do a proper job mulching grass. No the grass is not wet or am I lowering the blade from week to week. I will take the blade off and sharpen it so it is knife sharp hoping that will improve with mulching. At least it has the Honda engine! I wish I could bring it back and get a Honda, Toro or John Deere. I have had it since September of 2015 and have used it less then 10 times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would give this mower zero stars if I could... We purchased this mower based on glowing recommendation from the Lowes' salesperson. We took it home and immediately had problems. Should have returned it on the first day...but we didn't. It stopped working less than 90 days after we bought it. When we called Lowes, they said "Sorry, you bought this mower more than 30 days ago." "At least we have a warranty", we thought. So, we took the mower to the first warranty approved shop. They could not help because it was the motor. After picking it up and and taking it to another shop. We waited 2 1/2 months for the Honda warranty shop to assess it, they contacted us and said the motor repair is not covered under warranty. Save yourself a headache...stay away from this machine!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Powerful But Flawed The AWD feature of this mower lasted all of 20 minutes! The Honda engine provided loads of power and the AWD - when working - practically pulled my 260 lb. frame across the yard. It was actually cutting like a champ! Alas, at the 20-minute mark, I heard and felt a small "clunk" and the AWD feature was gone, never to return. This mower is very difficult to push without the drive engaged, so it became instantly useless to me. This mower has good features and excellent power and was very easy to use - it actually started on the first pull - but the design and reliability of the AWD drive system earns this mower an overall rating of POOR. Such a shame, because I was really impressed by the engine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Mower Until the AWD Breaks I've had this mower for almost a year. I spent the price because I wanted quality that would last. The mower was a joy to use until I mowed my yard last weekend. It cranked right up after winter storage and was going well until the self-propelled part just stopped working. I took the mower apart to find that the plastic housing on the front drive pulley broke and the gear had been pulled out by the tension of the belt. Now I could return the mower and wait 3 months while they fix it, and have an overgrown yard, or find a way to fix it. I'm very disappointed. For the pricepoint of this mower failures like this are unacceptable. Buy a different brand/mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I only recently purchased this mower, so I have only used it once so far, but I am very satisfied with it. It started right away, and re-started when needed during the course of my first mowing. The AWD function works really good, as the control is variable, allowing me to speed it up or slow it down as needed based upon the different terrain in my yard. I only used the mulch option so far, but that worked without any problem. Everything about it, including the higher rear wheels (which I think were very helpful with my sloping, variable terrain Pennsylvania lot), all worked very well, and I would recommend this purchase to others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Experience with Husqvarna-DO NOT BUY AWD! The AWD is a joke! I have had this mower in the shop 4x in less than 3 years with a failed AWD. One of those returns was in the first 60 days of ownership. I thought for $500 this would be a champ of a mower and it's been a complete disaster! I will never purchase another big ticket item from Lowe's or Husqvarna. Their support is dismal and their repair shop is even worse. There is a design flaw in the AWD and they will not address the issue. I am going to sell the Honda engine and scrap the rest of this junk!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY THIS MOWER OR ANY OTHER AWD MOWER I do not write reviews unless I feel strongly about something. This mower is junk. It is by far the most frustrating mower I ever purchased. It cuts poorly, the AWD system does not release, it is cheaply made and leaves grass behind. The bag system is poorly designed and when you remove it, grass falls out of the bag. If you must buy a mower from lowe's, buy a $200 cheapie and take the extra $300 and buy something you want. Maybe take your wife out with part of the money. You'll get a lot more in return from your wife in satisfaction than you will ever get from this mower!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The drive shaft sucks... I bought this lawn more 3 years ago to mow my banks, it work very well the first year, but by the 2nd year, it would hardly move. The wheels are plastic and they get stripped, had to replace the wheels (which lowes does not carry, which you would think they would since they sell the lawn mower) had to go on line and buy them, which they are not cheap either.....Anyway, it worked good for that summer, but now the wheels are all stirpped again....Do not waste you money on buying this lawn mower.....Yeah the engine is great...but thats about it....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Husqvarna does not stand behind their warranty Brought my Husqvarna into the shop under warranty period and was denied because they were afraid Husqvarna would not credit them due to past performance. Called Husqvarna and they simply said the dealer/service center did not think it was a warrantable part. The cause of the issue was due to cheap quality metal -I don't even think its Steel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not mulch or mow I have had this mower for just over 3 months. I though I was doing something wrong as it continued to clump large pieces of grass. I noticed that the rear bagger door gets plugged with grass and it evidently gets packed and falls out. I also notice many others with the same issue. I just do not know why this company does not offer a fix or other compensation as it takes me much longer to mow our yard. My John Deere of 12 years gave out and at the recommendation of a store employee bought this Husqvarna. It was a Sunday afternoon ad we were leaving and needed a mower so we took his suggestion. Just noticed I passed the 90 day return at Lowe's by 6 days. I even bought extra blades thinking they were not sharp enough and I replaced them after 2 mowings, we mow every 3 days. I would not recommend this mower to anyone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Experience I had purchased a Husqvarna HU625AWD and was told that the mower could mulch. After using ALL of the suggestions that Husqvarna recommended and still getting clumping of grass behind mower I was told to purchase the HU800AWDH to resolve the problem. Imagine my surprise when with not 1 but 2 of these mowers I am still getting clumping as the blade speed is too slow. Husqvarna's solution- take it to a service center or return the mower to Lowes. NOT a mower I would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower In my 3rd season, mower runs great. I have two good size hills on either side of my house. The mower does not miss a bit going up either hill. All the mower has required is routine stuff that you can easily do yourself. (Oil change, blade sharpening and cleaning out the mower deck) I purchased my mower from a dealer instead of a big box store. Mower was put together, the tank filled up and ready to go. MY dealer was very knowledgeable and gave me several tips on taking care of the mower to get the most out of my machine. Mower has been excellent. I'll never by another brand again. Matter of fact both my neighbors have one now and are very satisfied. Excellent mower, take care of it and it will tak3 care of you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually self-propelled! I think this mower can climb more than me. Easy to start! First pull! Cuts great! Nice even fine cut. I have COPD and had a time with my older mower that still works. This mower was an extreme difference! I read where there were problems with pushing or pulling without the 4WD. I do not have this problem. I do not have this problem. You do have to push it forward to disengage the drive to pull back, but this is normal, it is gear driven. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for a Craftsman mower Did my homework & decided this mower would be the best replacement for my Craftsman that finally gave up. Not the cheapest mower, but you get what you pay for. Still in the price range I was willing to pay. Very happy with ease of setup and mower functions. Wheel adjustments are super-simple...push the button, adjust the wheel, & let go of the button. Cranked before I even had the cord pulled halfway. Went through a thick section of grass & never missed a beat. It will have paid for itself in 1 Summer rather than hiring a lawn service. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong mower with Honda engine... This is a great mower, unfortunately Husky doesn't list the torque value ...I had to find it on Honda"s website a little over 8ft lbs of torque at 2500 rpm...not bad for the extra 50 bucks over the Briggs and Stratton 190cc (7 ft lbs of torque) version of this mower...Not sure why folks complained it was heavy, I didn't find that to be the case and both my arms have pinch nerves, now if you don't empty the grass catcher when it gets full, it can get heavy. It performs all three actions well and a couple of times my grass was wet, I bagged the front, mulched the sides and use the side discharge for some talll stuff, Much better performance than my John Deere walk behind.(JS30) but than again, my Deere wasn't running with a Honda OHV .it had asimilar engine size with a Briggs and Stratton 190cc but the Deere only produces 6.25 lbs of torque compared to the Husky's 8 ft lbs ...definitely can tell the difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Trash you will regret it. Bought this lawn mower to replace a Toro I've had for 9 years. Changed oil & used the gas they recommend. 6 months later and 9 hrs usage it won't stay running longer then 1 second. This has been inside a covered shed well maintained. This is a piece of trash you will regret it. They should recall this lawn mower and give everyone their money back. I will never buy a lawn mower from Husqvarna again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Mulching Design This is the second worst mulching mower(a $100 yardman being the worst) I have owned in 20 years. I have had it for 2 years now and know matter if the grass is wet or dry, high or low, or how it the deck is set up, it clumps grass under the wheels. It also stalls when it can't drop the grass. If I could return it, I would. I will not be buying a push mower from these guys again. I am not made out of money and will have to suffer this mower until it dies. It was a waste of $500.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy the awd I cut grass on a steep slope and wear golf or baseball spikes when using a lawnmower. I used multiple lawnmowers over the years including front drive, rear drive and a no drive lawnboy for 15 years. This is the second summer with the AWD Husky with the Honda motor. The front wheel drive broke and if I can sell it for 100 on Craigslist it's getting replaced. Between the two Lowes in my area they have 7....yes...SEVEN...used AWD's that have been returned for sale, one of them w/o the Honda motor is being sold for 159.00. I thought about buying it for parts...The mower constantly leaves glass clipping in clumps, forcing me to cut the yard twice. I've had back to a shop twice because when pulled backwards the wheels lock? I'm perplexed by all the positive ratings on this lawnmower... Pros: Honda motor, simply the best. Con: heavy, leaves clumps of grass behind, will not freewheel backwards (80% the front wheels are locked when pulled backwards) wheels are hard plastic and can never find traction,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice mower with dangerous design flaw - Do not buy I purchased mower in April 2014. On July 27, 2015, the mower blade adapter failed. Fortunately the blade went straight down in to the grass with no injuries. The mower blade is secured by a bolt to a star shaped dimpled adapter to keep the blade from slipping. Most likely as a result of wear and torque on the blade, the blade started vibrating causing stress on the blade bolt. The bolt sheared and the dimples were literally ripped of the adapter. The bolt is attached to the Honda engine crankshaft. Fortunately, after removing the adapter, I was able to remove the bolt with vice grips and now have parts ordered, about $30. I suspect a shop fix would approach $200. The mower is under warranty. I can only imagine the circus between Husqvarna and Honda if I try to pursue it. Live and learn

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Already seized up... This lawnmower was given to me by my dad as a gift. I was about 2 months in, didn't even get to change the oil yet, when I hit a metal pipe. Next thing I know, the engine will not turn over. I have had many Briggs & Stratton lawnmowers handed down to me since I was 10 years old, I have run over many things I shouldn't have by mistake, and maybe sheared a key at the worst. I have never had this happen to an engine. I will be re-powering with a Briggs & Stratton, and a using blade adapter with a key.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from An expensive piece of junk I found the Husqvarna HU800Awd to be a poorly designed piece of junk. After 3 summers of moderate usage all of the the wheels and drive axle bearings are completely worn out. Replacement parts are expensive. The way the mower is made it is impossible to properly clean the mower without completely disassembling the unit. Poorly designed guards allow grass cuttings to build up in areas surrounding the drive units resulting in extensive rust and corrosion to the drive system. I would avoid purchasing a Husqvarna mower. There are better mowers that are less expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little expensive but worth the money. Assembly was a breeze, took less than 20 minutes. No tools required. Filled the gas tank and filled the oil. started in 3 pulls. No primer bulb to mess with, no choke to mess with. The engine runs with a surge until the engine warms up. after 3 to 5 minutes. The mower starts on the 1st pull every time. Unless its been sitting for more than a few days. Then it may take 2 or 3 pulls. The mower deck is a nice design. the wheels have 7 height settings. The all wheel drive is great for large hilly yards. It takes a little getting used too. This mower will drag you along until you get used to the drive handle. requires very little effort to get mower moving. Bag is easy to empty. Hopefully this mower will last longer than my Toro recycler mower. that was half the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I mow 5 acres around the house at my farm I bought the Husquevarna Honda 190cc last year this time. The grass in Central New York grows like the Amazon, and is often wet. Clumping is normal with any lawnmower. I simply turn it off lift up the side and clean out the grass periodically. It mows and cuts as well as my new Cub Cadet rider. Great level settings and controls. The frontyard is up a large steep hill and we enjoy using it for climbing the long slopes. The only issue is the AWD which apparently ruptured the belt has failed. Something to keep an eye on. Other than that I absolutely love the machine as does my significant other. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would not recommend this product Just like a previous reviewer, I hit a small stump and the blade adapter broke, just as it is supposed to do to save the crankshaft. However, the adapter seems to break at the least contact with anything. I have now replaced the adapter 4 times in less than 1 year. The last time, (and the last straw), was when I hit a pine cone. Destroyed the blade adapter yet again. I'm over it. I'll soon have paid for the mower again just in blade adapters. The Honda engine is great, as well as the general quality of the mower, but the connection between the blade and the mower is simply atrocious. If not for that, I'd give the mower 4's and 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best purchase ever I purchased this mower hoping that it would be the same quality as the edger/trimmer, same brand, I purchased last year, but so far not the same luck. Only used this mower twice and the transmission is very jerky and at times unable to pull the mower backwards when needed. Additionally, when the mower is in forward motion the wheels or transmission squeal very loud, I can hear the squeal over my ear buds with music loud enough to drowned out the motor sound. I guess this means a long wait for the repairs on this brand new mower. On the positive side the Honda engine runs as expected and starts first pull every time. I have had the edger/trimmer for a year and it has worked flawlessly. My opinion my change if once the repairs are made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is a Champ! I have owned 5 or 6 mowers prior to this purchase. I have never owned a Husky. I was very concerned about this purchase, given many unfavorable reviews especially concerning the AWD. I needed a push mower to supplement my zero turn which is currently on order. I didn't really want to "push" a mower on 2 acres of elevation....but I needed something in the interim, so I decided to get this mower. It was a breeze to assemble and started about 1/4 of the way through the first pull. This mower pulled me around for over three hours. Not one issue. Up and down hills, lateral mowing, multiple height changes, not a problem. I could not have mowed this property without the AWD. So far I am very pleased wth this monster. If it gives me any problem, I'll update this review. I am happy with this piece of equipment. I am not sure why the many poor reviews, but given the fact that they sell thousands of these machines, there will be a percentage of them that have issues, like anything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid the Husqvarna AWD Mower Although the mower was easy to assemble and the Honda engine started on the first pull; I knew in less than 15 minutes that I had made a mistake. PROBLEM: The engine stalled repeatedly (5 times!) during my normally 30 minute job. This only occurred in the self-propelled mode while mulching. Presumably this is caused by clippings under the deck in mulching mode; or perhaps it is caused by the AWD demanding more torque than the engine can provide. The engine would restart with ease, and if I manually pushed the mower the engine would not stall. For the past five years I had used a similarly price Snapper Ninja 2-WD self-propelled mower and never experienced this problem. After less than 12 hours of ownership, I returned the mower to Lowes where they graciously gave me a full refund. I really wanted a mower with the Honda engine, but after this bad experience I believe I will search for a replacement to the old Snapper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Already Broke I bought this mower about a year ago and it worked fine until about two months ago. When I try to start it, the engine kicks back and jerks the cord out of my hand. It may be that it has a bad shear pin but I have not hit anything that I know of to cause it to shear. The wheel height adjustment is terrible. For this price, a single height adjustment should be available. Oh how I miss my old Craftsman lawnmower! This is probably my last Husqvarna product. I had to basically give away a Husqvarna R120S (riding mower) because it was too dangerous (turned over) on my hilly property!
