Description

The convenient 1.1 cu. ft. pedestal washer can handle small loads or wash clothes that require special care. It includes 6 specialized wash programs, including a cycle for sportswear and a "hand wash" cycle for delicate clothing. Its integrated electronic control panel makes operation very intuitive. The pedestal washer also features SmartDiagnosis(TM) that lets you troubleshoot right from your phone for ultimate convenience. Can the SideKick be used under the compatible LG washer / dryer in a stacking configuration (i.e. dryer on top of the washer on top of the SideKick)? Also, is the door on the  reversible on the washer?

Hi David, thanks for your interest in our product! Its not recommended that you stack the washer and dryer on top of the sidekick. It is not intended to support so much weight. By doing so, you may end up crushing the sidekick. Could you please clarify which model washer you were referring to for door reversal? Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slynngm from Incredible addition [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the SideKick washer after the fact. I always put my undergarments, stockings, and other more delicate cothing in laundry bags. Some laundry bags have larger holes than others so I have to keep a variety of sizes and designs to meet my needs. With the SideKick, I am able to throw in my delicate pieces and walk away without worry of tangling, stretching, or tear. I also appreciate that I can run the SideKick at the same time or at a seperate time as my larger machine. When the wash cylce is complete, the closes are so well wrung out that they dry quickly whether in the dryer or hanging up.

Thought it was a gimmick and then read reviews, which were all good, so I decided to buy it (along with the LG front load washer, dryer and pedestal-when my 11 year old Duets bit the dust). ANYWAY... I am another to add to the list... love this little guy! Divides my washing in half. We are a family of five so I easily have several hours a week of laundry. Now, I use the top washer for the big loads and the little guy for my delicates and bathing suits then I use the dryer for the big loads and hang delicates and bathing suits. Completely saves time. So glad I bought it. Plus, by the time all the 4th of July discounts were in, this was only a couple hundred dollars more than the regular pedestal. Worth it! Now, I just hope it lasts. : )

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bobbi from No True Warm Water and No Bleach Allowed I can only recommend this machine if you are happy to wash in Cold and never use bleach in it. Perhaps there is something wrong with mine. I never get truly warm water. Cold only. The Warm water option is selected and we made sure the hot and cold lines were not switched. I would not have bought it if I had known there is no Warm. I could have made due with Lukewarm, but you don't even get that. It only allows Hot water into the tub for literally no more than seconds. That's not enough Hot compared to all the Cold. Otherwise I think it's a great idea. I will be watching for Samsung to release their FlexWash which does have Hot and you CAN use bleach.

Super convenient and helps save time when you do have those smaller or more gentle loads you want to do while doing a lot of laundry at one time. The only downside is that I don't feel the tub drains completely at the end of the cycle. I can still hear water sloshing around a bit when I move the tub. I've left the top open to dry out, but based on the sound of water, I'd need to be in a desert climate for it to truly dry out. Still love the little washer a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Unhappy with Sidekick from Won't dry out even when open [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used my new Sidekick once but don't want to use it again. The manual says to leave the lid open after use so it can dry. Mine is in a traffic area so that is not convenient but I open it up at night. After several nights of being open there is still water under the tub. I hear water sloshing when I jiggle the tub. This is a very poor design and will lead to mold and mildew..

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sonja from LOVE THIS SMALL WASHER This small washer uses a small amount of laundry soap. PLEASE READ THE OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE YOU USE IT. This washer will also tell you when to add your fabric softener. This small washer comes with a measuring cup to ensure you don’t use to much laundry soap. You can only use liquid laundry soap with the side kick. I don’t mind buying the liquid soap. One to two tablespoon of laundry soap it's bad to me. You will only have to purchase liquid laundry soap for this washer once a year depending on the size you buy for this particular item.

Too often I've had to waste water and increase my utiity bill washing personal loads of laundry. Not to mention the damage done to my lingerie and other fine washables using the less than 'delicate' cycle in most regular washers. The side-kick is a perfect addition today's appliance dilemmas. Now I can actually wash my finer items delicately or get the soil from my work out wear before it has a chance to set in. Bravo, LG!

Rated 4 out of 5 by fugu from Convenience down under [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed the Sidekick below a combo unit, replacing the lighter-weight pedestal. This substantially reduced the wobbling of the combo unit on spin cycles, and provided the benefit of a smaller washer. The Sidekick capacity is perfect for small loads, and high-speed spin dries the loads well enough to air dry or put into the above unit for a 30-min drying period. Great for special washes. I only with it was easier to dry out the interior after the washes were done since leaving the lid open to air dry requires that the drawer remain exposed for hours (not ideal for closet washing areas like mine; my solution is to let it dry overnight while I'm asleep).
