Description

This tile mortar is a premium, regular-setting, and polymer-enriched mortar ideal for installing large-format tiles and stones. It can also be used for small to large tiles on a diverse range of substrates. It is to be mixed with water only, its consistency is smooth and creamy and it is easy to apply. This tile mortar is perfect for installing porcelain or ceramic tiles in submerged applications. For floors and walls and exterior or interior installations, it can be applied onto most traditional substrates properly prepared. It is best used with tiles of 15" x 15" and larger, and can also be used with small-format tiles.

What is the open working time of this product once mixed with water?

There are two types of mortar ….. the quick set kind which is strictly for the experienced or professional tiler and the regular set kind which is designed for the DIY’er. The latter is the one I used. Latter gives you plenty of time to work with mixed product. Sorry don’t have actual working dry time but believe it is stated on nag.

Is this product good to install 1” thick square cut flagstone on a basement concrete floor. I am installing about 25 sq ft and need about 1/2” bed. Would one 50LB bag be enough?

I purchased to install back splash tiles but returned it unopened as decided to go with premixed type 1 adhesive instead. 1/2" is a lot of thinset for a base which normally calls for 1/4" trowel teeth so if you go this route .... you are likely going to need double the amount indicated by the manufacturer's coverage ratings.

This product is polymer modified. For Ditra, use a premium unmodified mortar, either Kerabond (#67997) or Kerabond T (#618523).

How many bags do I need to install 320 square feet of tile?

Assuming 1/4 inch notched trowel, each bag covers 80 - 95 sq ft. You would need 3 50 lb bags and a half bag

Rated 5 out of 5 by Martha google from Excellent Product Used this for wall and floor tile with excellent results. Sets up well and quickly. As with all products of this nature, it is important to mix EXACTLY as directed.... 3 min mix - let sit for 5 mins then mix another 2 mins before use. I do not recommend the pre-mixed mortar mixes. To minimize mess and ease of clean up, have 2 large pails of water at the ready. One with a sponge to wipe down tile as you go and the other bucket of water to clean off mixer right away and to put trowels or other tools in that are awaiting clean up.
