They are made of heavy duty plastic and are very sturdy but are not too heavy to easily place into position. Look much more expensive than the price suggests and have a wonderful, clean architectural line. Very impressive! Have not filled them with dirt as it is mid-winter and below freezing temps but they even look beautiful sitting empty along the edge of my driveway turn-around along a black aluminum fence. Can't wait to fill them with flowers in the Spring! Definitely happy with purchase.

If this makes it thru the winter without breaking or my plants freezing and dying, it will be worth every cent. They are attractive and easy to set up and the 15 yr warrantee sold me.

The planter handled the winter weather fine, no signs of cracking or damage from the winter freeze. I'd like to get 3 more but stock is hard to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boomerang from An excellent planter We purchased this at the end of the plant season in 2018 and have set up for 2019. This is a large planter 36 inch and it will hold a great deal of bedding plants. It holds ample water which is excellent to increase the weight of the planter. We used styrofoam as a filler before adding potting soil. It is modern looking however I only wished that Lowe's offered the full colour choices that are available in the United States. The light brown would be our first choice instead of black. If your location in on the front side of your house, I strongly recommend that you keep the unit heavy so that a plant thief won't walk off with it during the night. I had thought of adding bricks in the base to increase the weight. It is sharp looking and it won't disappoint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MariaC from Durable and looks good, but.... I bought my first one 3 years ago and it still looks great. I have gotten 8 more from RONA. There is a drainage hole along the side of the planter and I find that it gets clogged with plant roots and prevents it from draining properly so my plants inside the planter are TOO wet. I had to drill more holes in the bottom of the planter as I found I needed more drainage as opposed to water retention for MY requirements.

I love the look and the self watering feature. The price was right, too! It's well made, styled perfectly and holds my plants to make a lovely accent piece for my deck.
