Description

This Metabo HPT dual bevel sliding mitre saw has a compact slide system that allows the saw head to slide along fixed rails, eliminating the need for rear clearance. It is equipped with a powerful 15 A motor to tackle tough cutting jobs with ease and its laser marker system increases cutting accuracy. A carbon brush access allows the user to replace the brush as needed to greatly prolong tool life. The vertical handle features a soft, vibration reducing elastomer grip for greater comfort and enhanced control.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MarioG from Mixed Bag [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received saw via UPS last week. I replaced stock blade with a better quality blade and checked all adjustments. All components are square and true. My disappointment is with guard behind the fence. Clearance on the right side of blade was barely 1/16", while the clearance on the left side was almost 5/16". I wasn't comfortable cutting into guard that isn't centered a bit better. I removed guard. I won't be using the saw until spring, but I am confident that it will work fine. I reached out to Metabo through their contact page, but have not heard back. Put all of it together and its a mixed bag of good and bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WKND DIY MONSTER from Loads of Cutting Power With Small Footprint Got this as upgrade over older 10” miter saw. Love the cutting power and ability to cut big pieces. Even out of the box, it’s spot-on accurate, “square” even when fully pulled out. Really dig the zero-rear clearance slider design . I can park it up close to back walls. This Metabo HPT saw’s almost too massive to haul around, so I’ll make this my stationary “show” tool in garage. I loaned this to a neighbor across the street and it was hard to haul around even on stand with wheels. The 36V 10” miter saw is around 40 lbs and might be the future “go” saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OleyNY from One of the Best Miter Saw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used my brother-in-law's miter saw and I am completely "blown away" by the features this saw offers and the price he paid for it. It works wonderfully and the 12-inch saw blade is as large as much more expensive miter saws. The 4X4 posts I cut were exact and this saw cut easily, especially with the sliding miter. The laser marker is spot on and is really useful. I am convinced that this miter is as good, or better, than the more expensive "brand names". I own a Hitachi gas blower and it still works great. I'm glad Metabo continues the quality of their products and I plan to purchase more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Skip Kunst from Quiet butter cutter I have several Hitachi tools and consider Hitachi my " go to" manufacturer for power tools. This unit was ready to go out of the box. Very little adjustments necessary. My application is on a fixed bench in a workshop with built in side supports. I have one comment that is not necessarily a negative. The included dust bag and built in dust chute are underwhelming. The saw throws a lot of dust and catches very little. I will have to arrange for a custom built hood from a metal shop which adds considerably to this otherwise reasonably priced for the saw. The dust issue would not be a problem on any construction/remodel job site.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Subflyerc from 15+ yr woodworker, construction, maintenance pro I would give this 5 stars if it came with a better blade. Other than the blade, this saw is outstanding. It takes a little adjustment, the book mentions it`s adjusted from the factory, but I'm a woodworker and would only trust my adjustments. It didn't take long to get it square both vertically and horizontally. It was only slightly off. The saw is smooth and powerful. The dust collector could be better but I don't know of a single miter saw with good dust collection. I'm building a box and using my dust collection system like I have on my previous miter saws (Rigid, then Bosch, now this). If your looking for a 12" sliding compound, I highly recommend this saw.

Easily producing the same results as those that retail for four times the cost, Metabo HPT has definitely found a permanent spot in my shop.

I pretty much run and repair my equipment until there's no more life in it. I replaced an old delta mitersaw that provided for my young family. Now in my family is older and grown with bigger projects. And with an old worn-out delta mitersaw it was time for an upgrade. This has been one of my newest additions to my wood working tools and very pleased with the new piece of equipment. Rated 5 out of 5 by PeteRPumpkin from Extremely Versatile and Well Built [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this to do my entire home in laminate wood flooring and all new base trim. The dual bevel was a life saver for the miter cuts on the trim corners. The stock blade was a normal rough cut blade and did a fine job on laminate flooring with little splintering on the ends. The laser is useful to line up a cut but disappears when the saw head is brought down to cut. Overall build quality is great and make sure to buy a heavy duty rolling stand to go with it. The saw on it's own is quite heavy to carry. Overall very pleased for my first Metabo HPT purchase.
