Description

The Metabo HPT 36 V MultiVolt brushless jig saw (tool body only), offers users a good cutting performance both in the shop or on the job site. Low vibration enables smooth cutting, while a low startup speed ensures ease when aligning the blade to the cut line. When the saw is in use, an auto mode enables the speed to automatically switch from 1,400 strokes per minute to 3,500 strokes per minute, and the variable control feature helps maintain speed.

4-stage orbital action, the blade moves slightly forward and into the workpiece on the upswing, then slightly backward on the downstroke as the blade resets for the next cutting stroke
Under no-load, speed and vibration are reduced for easy alignment with the material
Upon the start of cutting, the stroke changes to full speed automatically and speed is maintained
Dial and switch enable to change stroke speed depending on working condition
Lock-on brushless technology for higher efficiency, increased run time and longer tool life

Rated 5 out of 5 by Do It Green from 36V Jig Saw The saw itself is absolutely outstanding. Best jig saw I've owned. I think the CJ36DA is another Metabo HPT (Hikoki) first, the only 36V jig saw available. Great option to use cordless or when necessay on the ET36A, MultiVolt AC Adapter. The only issue is that in the United States it doesn't ship with two accessories with which I believe it should. These are the Dust Collection Cover, part #370 492 and Dust Collection Adapter, part #321 591. Dust collection is always a necessity -- to keep dust out of the workspace and for better health.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kenericson from Great Jigsaw I love this jigsaw. I work with hard surfaces like corian. It cuts threw it like butter. I've used the competitors and there no where close to metabo hpt is. Fast and accurate. If there was one thing I'd add, it is a dust collection system. So u could add a hepa vac to it when sawing things like corian tops. But no one has that yet. So I give it 5 stars. It's the best I've ever used. And it's cordless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MLCASE from Absolutely Amazing Machine! I just received this tool. I had (past tense) a cheap big box jigsaw that saw the plastic blade retainer split in two. I own several Hitachi / Matebo tools and absolutely love them. My cordless drills are in fact 15 years old and I'm just starting to see them tiring out. They've built a few decks and bunk houses...I currently have a job cutting patterns into 2" pine and decided to add the Metabo jigsaw to my collection. I just notched out a beam and I'd describe the tool as a cutting miracle. I'm using a Bosch long, general use, carbide tipped, blade. Cuts straight, square and comfortably. I'm incredibly pleased with the tool. Pleased enough to stop cutting to come in and write a review before I forget. Back to the saw!

I can turn on a dime with a scroll blade and plow through 2x material with ease. Every challenge I have thrown at this jigsaw it has done. It has 3 oscillation modes and on 3 hogs through without effort. The auto mode is growing on me. It eliminates the jolts when you're starting a line. Very ergonomic to use, You can hold the saw using two fingers to drive or 1 finger on the trigger. There are many hand placements available and you can lock the trigger on to get to different hand positions. The include plastic covers for the blade which i could see helping with dust extraction, but they obfuscate the view. I do wish this saw came with the dust port they include in the rest of the world. This saw will do everything and you will be comfortable using it the entire time.

MY BACKGROUND I am a homesteader and I also own a business where I do various jobs in woodworking and carpentry for my customers. I have high expectations for my power tools, because I need them to perform as they should so I can make money and keep the homestead operating. WHAT I LIKE: Let me say that I've been waiting for this jigsaw for a long time! It's nearly all that I hoped that it would be! It is powerful, smooth, robust and tough. I like that it has the trigger lock-out feature AND has the separate trigger lock-on feature! This means, if using the lock-out feature, it's safe to throw into your bag or box and not worry about it turning on! The lock-on trigger button keeps the trigger in the operating position, which is a great feature for the person who is using this jigsaw for detail work or who gets hand fatigue. I don't want to understate how nice it is to have a trigger lock-on feature! It's a big selling point for me! There is a dial for speed that can be used with the variable speed trigger. It's very useful. The trigger itself is large (in a good way), easy to pull and has a good amount of control. The trigger has true variable control. It does change speed in stages like many jigsaws. The blade change mechanism is very sold and smooth. It doesn't have a squishy feeling when you pull the trigger. The shoe is very nice and solid, though there are some drawbacks. It comes with a dust shroud and a splinter guard. From what I can tell there is no deflection in the blade during use. THINGS I DON'T LIKE: The shoe miters to 45 degrees, but you have to use a hex key to loosen the shoe and move it (no tool-free adjustment). There is only one positive stop in the miter adjustment and that's at zero. I'm not of fan of that. There is no option for dust extraction. There is no no-mar shoe cover. WHY?? The "A" (auto speed) doesn't seem to be very sensitive. You have to push hard for it to ramp-up. CONCLUSION: Every tool has it's little issues and this one is no exception. However, this is the best jigsaw that I have ever used and I've used many! It has the power and features to push the other top brands out of the way. I really, really like it! I would recommend it to any prosumer/DIYer or PRO!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bwade from Another outstanding Metabo product Finally got the chance to use my Metabo cordless jigsaw and it did not disappoint! I love the automatic speed variation, I could definitely feel the tool adjusting to the density of the wood making for a super consistent cut. And like with Every Other Metabo 36v tool I own I was very impressed with the power it has. I can't think of any reason for this not to be my go-to jigsaw for all future jobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jollyroger145 from Great performance, friendly format [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a Christmas gift and have been pretty happy with the applications I've tried it on so far. First, my only really big gripe with it isn't really the tool's fault; this was the first multi-volt tool in my lineup so I HAD to buy another battery for it (the gist that keeps on giving), but with that out of the way everything has been pretty smooth. Notching 2x4? No problem. OSB? Feels good. It's even done okay on a cope cut for some trim in a pinch (although I wouldn't try it again). I've mostly used Dewalt for work but the recent Metabo offerings seem pretty comparable in terms of quality and performance- even if they look weird- and this saw is another example of that. So far so good!
