Rated 5 out of 5 by C C d from Superb Cuts with Convienence. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to replace my old standard Hitachi 10" Chop-Saw, with 25 years of good service. So why not stick with a winner? Went for compound miter this time. Was wary of a battery-operated saw, though a power pack was also available, thus it was worth trying, either way, we have the juice. The combination miters and full cuts for 2x's were smooth and straight through, with no hesitation on battery or plug in power was all good. What's nice is the battery gives you indicator lights for knowing when to switch, so no surprises. Will recommend this saw to any craftsman, "state of the art' smart!

Rated 4 out of 5 by zachdub from Good cordless saw that isn't heavy this saw has good accuracy and smooth actions. I prefer the smaller lighter size compared to dewalt flex volt miter saw and single batteries are great as well. My biggest and most problematic complaint. The detents are not accurate at all. You can wiggle the saw easily at least one degree both ways in the detents you absolutely have to be certain to lock it every time and be certain you have it at the right position in place. Every other miter saw detents are rock solid in place and you don't have to second guess it. The laser kind of sucks. They put a led light on it while not have just positioned it so it would be a shadow light?

Not sure if a battery operated saw was a good idea, I was a bit hesitant. Not to worry... cause Metabo is the only battery platform that can also support connecting to the wall outlet. The reality is that there is no need with this tool. Battery last a long time. It is also important to note that this is one of the few saws that have a low profile in the back. The slide mechanism allows the saw to sit flush against the wall. I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spuds from Great cordless miter saw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to make redoing some stairs quicker and it really delivered. The fence, miters and bevels were all accurate out of the box and made it quick to get to work. It produced amazing, clean, cuts with the stock blade and so far I haven't felt the need to put a new blade on, which was a welcome surprise. The 4AH Multi-Volt battery has easily given me a couple days worth of power; and if that ever ends up being not enough I have the option to plug it in. The saw has been well worth getting and it's an easy recommendation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by murcha from Versatile and sturdily built I bought this Miter saw a few months back and I cant believe how it makes me more productive . With the battery pack I can take it on site and work free of cords, and I use the corded option in the shop to protect the battery life. Make no mistake this is a powerful tool with many great features and well worth the investment. This saw gave me the freedom to work off the grid where power is sometimes hard to access. I now have the HPT Miter Saw and the HPT Circular Saw and with this combo I rarely have to use my table saw on jobs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WMSigEp from Highly Functional Tool -- Lots of Power and Endurance I have a large collection of 18v Hitachi/Metabo-HPT tools hand tools and was interested in getting a portable Mitre saw (without sacrificing power and operating time). The new, 36V tool seemed to meet all my requirements and the interoperability between its battery and my 18V tools was very attractive. So far, I've been very pleased with the tool. The controls are complicated (lots of levers and buttons) because of all of its features, but I'm learning. Was able to throw it in the back of my car and take it to a friend's house for a group project. Used the saw for several hours, cutting 2x4s, and was surprised that I had still had at least 2/3rds of my battery life. Was able to pull the battery and plug it into my hand tools and still finish my project without depleting the battery. As part of the rebate from my purchase, I'll be receiving an AC/DC adapter for the 36V system -- but after completing a whole project on one charge, I'm not sure I'll ever need it! Overall, very pleased and look forward to burning through future projects (esp. flooring and framing) with this saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cray from Just fantastic The value of dropping the tailgate and starting to work without setting up cords cannot be understated. This saw has cut everything, 2x or 4x or pressure treated or trim. Clean cuts, fast cuts. Spin up time is right now!. Quieter than my other saws. Blade is a quality one nice thin kerf and I'll wait til it wears out before replacing. Not worrying about power on a jobsite is great. I'm not a production guy and a battery will last me days. It has already been loaned out to a friend who had a project where there was no power and their generator had been stolen. Crew was able to keep going while he resolved the issue. I did have to true the blade to the table. It was off a couple degrees. Very happy and almost to a completely cordless setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Larz from Good Saw [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Saw worked well and was accurate out of the box. I liked that is has both battery and corded options. The stops were set accurately, and are very helpful. I especially appreciate that the slide is oriented the way it is. It reduced the space needed. Most other saws have slides or rods that extend far behind the saw increasing the footprint needed and required space to operate them. I would like there to be better dust collection, but no other saw on the market has much improvement as compared to this one, in that category...
