Bought the Moen Model CA87315C kitchen tap in July 2011. The problem is water leaks from the ball that connects the flex hose connects to the hand sprayer. When the hand sprayer is returned to the tap, water drips onto the floor inside the cabinet!

This faucet was professionally installed. I tightened the Allen screw to tighten the ON-OFF handle when going from the OFF to the ON position. I reduced the free play but I was afraid of tightening it further since I might break the screw. Solutions?

Asked by: Billue
Thank you so much for your interest in Moen products. The set screw in the handle of the Renzo faucet needs to be fully tightened to secure the handle to the stem of the cartridge. I had this professionally installed. There is about 25 degrees of free play in the Hot toCold handle movement. How do I eliminate this annoying characteristic of our new faucet.

Renzo 1-Handle Kitchen Faucet is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 320.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Moen Quality has Decreased We purchased and had installed this faucet for it's appearance and because of the Moen name. To our disappointment it continues to come loose from the sink and now we are told it cannot be tightened again. The plumber says this particular faucet is not designed correctly and he has seen this problem more than a dozen times. So now we are confronted with another purchase ... need I say it will not be a Moen. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Worst Faucet Brand Ever [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a Moen kitchen faucet about two years ago which had to be replaced in less than a year. I figured it was just a poor model so I purchased this faucet as a replacement. Well, here it is less than a year later and the handle wobbles and is loose. I should have known better after the first purchase but gave them the benefit of the doubt. They say parts are under warranty for five years but what good is that when you need to pay a plumber to replace them!! I would have given a lower rating than one star if it was possible. Do not purchase a faucet with the brand name Moen!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not all metal I bought this faucet to go in my parents kitchen to replace a similar one. I was disappointed that the body of the faucet was metal, but the handle and the plate were both plastic. The installation was easy (once I got the old one out) and I'm sure it will serve the purpose, but for the money I would have thought it would be a little higher quality. The hoses for the water supply to the faucet were nice and long so connecting hoses were not needed. The directions for installation left a lot to be desired. It mostly showed pictures without descriptions, but the pictures were not as clear as they could have been. Overall, it was not a hard installation, but it took a few minutes to figure out what a few of the pictures were trying to convey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Moen faucet was indeed easy to install, looked nice, and was easy to use. During the first year of use, however, the outer covering of the pull out hose wore off a little at a time. It became frayed, and had to be cut off with scissors. That is not what one expects from a product of this caliber. It was very disappointing. Moen can do better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mostly Plastic - Poor Design - Disappointed Needed a white faucet, and this was the only one in stock at my local Lowe's. The instructions have steps illustrated that are not described in the text, so had to re-do part of the installation. The baseplate is plastic, and has no gasket nor any provision for keeping water from leaking through from the mounting surface to the underside of the sink/counter. The baseplate has no provision for keeping it aligned with the holes in a three-hole sink, so it is difficult to get (and keep) it straight upon/after installation. The "white" finish isn't as white as my Kohler cast iron sink, and there are several visibly different shades of "white" on the various components of the faucet. The faucet seems to work okay, but looks and feels cheap. This may well be a case of getting what I paid for, but I would definitely NOT recommend this faucet to others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality 2 weeks after purchasing this faucet the water started sputtering. It was only with standard flow mode, shower mode was unaffected. I called Moen and explained the problem and they told me that the wand was defective. They sent me a new wand within couple of days, hands down on their customer service, however after just a few weeks of working fine it started sputtering all over again. I am now thinking to return this faucet back to Rona as it is still within 90 days of their return/exchange policy. What happen to Moen, they used to stand for quality? And keep in mind this is 150$ faucet we are talking about...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spray hose leaks I had this faucet put in originally about a year ago and the spray arm leaked. I returned to Lowe's in March of this year and got another like it. After being told the problem of the spray hose was fixed, I purchased the same model. Today I need to get another faucet, because the spray arm is leaking just like the original. I will not purchase this style of Moen faucet again and look for another brand. I have had good luck with Moen in the past, but this seems to be a problem with the Moen Renzo CA873216

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good For The Price There are several things that this faucet does not have quite right. The stream/spray switch works OK but if you reduce the water flow the faucet will not stay on spray. The spray has high pressure and splashes way more than other faucets we have had. Am used to more of a deluge spray with lower force and almost no splashing. The fact that as you lower the water flow and the spray goes back to a stream is a real nuisance. The faucet overall is too short. Should have paid more attention in the store and read more of the reviews. The last item is the weight that is on the line used to draw the faucet back is too lite. You must "help" the faucet hose to get it fully seated. If this had been a cheap faucet I would have expected this but not from a Moen. Unfortunately this was purchased during a house remodel and by the time we used it and found the issues we could not take it back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pull-Out Faucet This faucet will fit a 1-hole or 3-hole Kitchen faucet set-up (Can use a chrome plate for 3-hole design). Installation was easy with the integrated hot/cold supply lines (no need to purchase separate supply hoses). The Pull-Out faucet spout is great you can fill-up pots and anything else on your kitchen counter if your sink is full. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting a quality kitchen faucet for the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would Not Purchase Again This is by far the worst purchase I have ever made. I needed a white sink faucet and I blame myself for not looking further for one. The arm is weak and in only a week it does not feel secure in the faucet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic parts? Had this facet for around two years. The facet stopped swinging back in forth smoothly, because of corrosion inside the base. Had to finally replace because water on/off hot/cold handle stopped moving. Took apart and found the most important part that moves the valve up/down, is plastic. Its was broke at the screw hole at the top of the valve body, (see pic). Not available to replace on the parts list.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Item does not match what is on the box I ordered this item and went to pick it up. On the website and on the box, the faucet has a picture of a one piece install, without the bar. After seeing the box at the store, it had the one piece on the box, so I thought it would be right. I cancelled the order and went home online and reordered it to have it shipped to my mother for her kitchen. She had it installed and sent me a picture with the bar on it! I was so mad. She did not want this type of faucet. Loew's should only list items as they appear, not multiple pictures of different items on their website. See the attached picture of the faucet that I thought I was getting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from faucet comes loose I paid a plumber to install this faucet. The faucet works and is great, BUT it's plastic and the base comes loose every few months. I have to tightened from below to keep the base from swiveling. The faucet does not leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ball Bearing in Wand Failed Twice! I've gone through 2 of these now. The ball bearing inside the wand has failed both times and caused water to run down the inside of the wand to underneath the sink. The first time this happened I caught it and Moen was excellent about sending me replacement parts overnight. Moen has great customer service and warranty program. The second time this ball bearing failed inside the wand I wasn't so lucky as I have quite a bit of water damage under the sink and downstairs. There is a defect in this product. If you intend on using the wand you might want to look somewhere else as it will wear down and leak inside the unit without you noticing. I took it out and installed Moen's Kiran which seems to have better construction. Good company, bad product here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cost Conscious Kitchen Faucet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Moen faucet was an easy install by me. Removal of old faucet took more time than installation of new faucet. I used a single hole mount in granite. Water lines and faucet hose line was simple drop through the mounting hole. Moen provides a plastic tool to tighten the brass faucet body from below. Water lines were of ample length for quick attachment to water valve with one quarter turn by crescent wrench after hand turning to snug fit. The faucet hose moves easily to extend and the weight supplied by Moen makes for smooth and quick retraction.
Date published: 2018-10-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good replacement product. Moen has made some ease of installation improvements since they made the faucet I replaced with this one. It has good value, but has a lot of plastic in it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buy it for Looks, Buy it for Life? Life of a bug? Bought it.., installed it.. worked great for about 2 years. Now it is leaking in the flexible hose area. I don't call that a 'lifetime' worry free product. I wouldn't recommend this product as a worry free faucet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product, but attached supply lines to short The box states "Supply Lines Attached" but does not have the length specified on the box. They were 24 inches, several inches too short. So I went to Lowes to get a couple of supply line extenders and looked at kitchen supply line and didn't see one with the male connector that could be used as an extender.. A Lowes associate said he didn't think they had extenders, so I returned the Faucet. I then went to the Kitchen Faucet area area to buy a replacement that doesn't have the supply lines attached and got to telling my story to another Lowes assistant who said they did have extenders and showed me where they were. When the nut on one end is removed, the desired male connector is there, and it's that nut already being on there that makes it not look like an extender.. So I bought two extenders, and bought another faucet exactly like the one I just returned. So if you want to avoid returned items with boxes already opened and maybe lost sales, I would suggest the following: 1) Insist that the manufacturer have the length of the attached supply lines on the box:. 2) Add the length of the supply lines to the product descriptor at the display. 3) Also at the display, have a note that extenders are available in aisle XX with part number YYYYY, and remove nut on one end.: 4) Or, at the kitchen faucet display have the extenders with a sign saying these are extenders if attached supply lines are too short. (remove nut).. In summary, 2 problems: - 1 positive 1) PROBLEM: Box does not specify length of attached supply lines. 2) PROBLEM: First associate was not informed about extenders for supply lines. 3) POSITIVE: The second associate was very informed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Already leaks Bought it less than a year ago. I will be remodeling soon so I didn't want to shell out big bucks for a long lasting high quality brand. I thought this faucet would at least bridge the gap and give me a few good years of service before I would replace it. It didn't even last the year before the spray handle started to leak and drip down the hose and underneath the sink. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blinded by the Moen Name I have bought their products for years, mainly because of the name Moen. Through several house remodels, both bathroom fixtures and kitchen replacements. Never have I seen such a piece of junk! This faucet is PLASTIC! and because of the way the product is packaged now a days, (product boxes are banded) there is really no way to look at what your buying, plus the product displays are 10 feet up in the air so there is no way can you see what your buying. A piece of junk! wish I had read the reviews FIRST! now I'm stuck The mounting piece is also plastic as well as the handle and pull out spout. So we shall see which give out first.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Moen Faucet This faucet replaced a Moen that had a side sprayer. The faucet was in the home when we purchased it and needed replacement. I decided to purchase another Moen because customer service was prompt in replying to emails when I was deciding whether to purchase repair parts or replace it. They also offered a rebate on a new faucet. There were only a couple of Moen faucets offered in white. Lowe's provided free shipping and the faucet arrived in 2 days. Cons * The deck plate is made of thin plastic that looks like it will scratch easily. The spray wand is also light weight plastic and does not feel durable, (although that may not be the case). * The max flow rate for all new pullout faucets is 1.5 GPM. I found the flow on this one to be 1.25 GPM, which is noticeably less than the one it replaced. As I recall, faucets with a side sprayer are 2.0 GPM max. * Some of the installation illustrations had no written instructions beneath. Pros * The faucet is priced lower than similar types offered by competitors. * The faucet comes with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. * It is designed to make it easy to install and included longer water line connections. There were no leaks, no missing parts, and no defects. In fairness to Moen, this might be "standard fare" for newer faucets by all manufacturers. I installed it because of my positive experience with customer service with the faucet that was replaced, and the warranty. Hopefully it will provide many years of trouble free service. Installation note: The pullout hose is pushed through the spray wand and connected under the sink. When connecting under the sink, do not pull more than needed to connect. The opposite end will pull into the faucet body and is difficult to get out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy; Pull down faucet leaks after 1.5 years Purchased this faucet in 2016 and had decent use of it until recently, when the pulldown attachment sprays water everywhere at the joint making the faucet unusable. First noticed the issue when the basement ceiling began dripping. Tracked it to a pool of water under sink. The pulldown extender leaked while in the faucet house causing the undersink water collection. Moen will replace it HOWEVER they are not there on the days leading up to the New Years holiday and therefore my New Years Party is not going to happen now. Do not buy this faucet. It is cheaply made and the fittings will leak after moderate use. Oh and the little red/blue tab fell off in the first month too. No more Moen for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thought I was getting a good quality faucet, ended up being disappointed with the quality and cheap plastic that it was made with ! Although , Installation was pretty easy. Would have gotten a better review if it wasn't made so cheap ! 104.00 dollars for this product seems quite excessive!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loosens from base regularly The faucet regularly loosens from the base and is a pain to tighten from under the sink. Also, the braided hose that retracts into the faucet becomes wears out quickly. Spend a little more for a little better quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from White like Apple products Other reviewers commented that the faucet is made of plastic. The other ones are also plastic they're just chrome-plated to pretend they're metal. Other reviewers complain this one is not strong, what are these guys animals? This faucet seems plenty strong is good looking made of plastic, but what isn't nowadays at least it will never ever rust. I waited at least 30 days to leave a review and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap lookin faucet Only the faucet handle is made of metal. The faucet body is made of hard plastic that will yellow with moderate UV exposure. The water line attached to the sprayer will loosen with everyday use and cause water to leak under the sink. It can be tightened back up by hand or with a wrench.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk We've been through two of these. In both cases, the pull out handle becomes loose and sits limply in the faucet receptacle. Looks bad and kept falling out. In the second one, after nine months the interior valves failed and leaked water out of the top and bottom of the faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks less than a year after install [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So frustrating - this is the SECOND one of these faucets we've installed, and BOTH began leaking less than a year after install. When the first started leaking, we assumed we had a defective unit and replaced it with the same type. This morning the replacement faucet began leaking in the same place (below the handle where you turn it on and off). We bought it in November; it lasted 11 months. Our first one lasted about 6 months. Very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic! I have been buying Moen for many years and they stand behind their products if you buy them anywhere except Home Depot and Lowe's. I bought one from Lowe's thinking it might be okay but, wrong again! Moen has decided to make their products more and more from plastic. the spare that pulls out is so lightweight it feels like a child's toy. complete garbage! Can't wait to take it back and get something else somewhere else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mohen model CA87316C..leaked after 1 year Purchase this faucet on 6.9.17. Installed on 6.10.17. Shorter height than what we had with the previous faucet. Would not swing to cover each sink, frustrating. On 7.30.18, woke up, went into the kitchen and there was water everywhere. All counter space, underneath sink was soaked. We have a container that holds cans, approx. 4 " deep. It was full of water. Everything directly on the wood was soaked and had to throw anything that was papered away. The "O" ring that sits at the base plate failed. Turned off the valve to the cold water, still a slow drip dripping down the hose underneath sink. Water seeping out the back of the "O" ring onto counter. Have had a fan on the area for 2 days to try to dry out.Just short of having to turn off all water in the kitchen, there will not be any water usage. There is a 5 yr. limited warranty, we have chosen to not use it on this piece of junk!
