It is a dusk to dawn light, unless it is on a regular light switch to turn it off during certain periods, There are no settings.

I bought this light because its LED, Motion activated and only comes on at night (with motion) Very easy to install and light has an overide where you turn the light switch on, off and on again and it will stay on for the evening (do this if you have guests over so they have constant light) turn off for 30 seconds to reset or will automatically reset at Dawn. The 2500 lumens is nice and bright. The 5000k is a nice white ligh. Im definitely buying one for my back yard as well.

Important: When you purchase this unit the need to open the battery in the back (no you don't need to buy extra batteries (this was my thought also) There is a cable that it is disconnected, you need to connect this cable or it will not work (ha ha, stupid me) I had it up for 2 days with the cable disconnected, and wondering why it is not working.. I had a couple of 3C recharge batteries so I also installed it (this is optional). The 4 best things about this product is: 1. It's bright. 2. It's flush to the wall [others have a bracket that extends the unit further from the wall] 3. The lights can be angled in different directions. (GREAT!) 4. Easy installation and easy to remove. How it is engineered you can install it with one screw (but it has an option for 2 screws.) I might end up buying my 3rd unit soon. My friends come by and they are surprised how much these LEDS illuminate.

This is worth to consider and I bought in half price today from Lowes Canada. The sensor is brilliant and sense from far 40 metes or around which is mindblowing & you can adjust sensor close to far. Lights are also adjustable up and down with few left and right. Brightness of led is super high and color with almost white tone. This is worth to buy and highly recommend.

Very simple installation and easy to set up both for positioning and setting the motion sensor coverage and lighting time. I nearly walked out of Lowes with the battery powered light and not the 120V light I wanted. The boxes are basically identical and lacking clear details. My only concern is I suspect the plastic light covers will yellow from UV over time, but for $40 I guess I shouldn't complain. Here is an image of how it lights up the area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PDC Patty from Too Bright for Residential Neighbourhood These bright lights are appropriate for barns & rural areas. HOWEVER they are TOTALLY inappropriate for residential areas. SHOULD BE BANNED FROM CITY USE.They light up your driveway, but the bright focused LED light also shines across the street and into your neighbours windows. They are a menace in a residential area. The motion sensor on most of these inexpensive lights can't differentiate between wind, rain etc and will turn the light on & off all night randomly. Be a good neighbour and leave this crap on the shelf at your big box store. Find a light with a quality motion sensor that shines directly down onto your driveway and responds to actual motion instead of wind, rain, snow etc.

I returned those to Rona, and now 3 more of them (including some of the replacements) have failed. I grew weary of returning them, wrote off my losses, and have moved on to a different brand.
