"Maximum" solid color stain by "Olympic" provides an opaque finish that allows the wood texture to show through. Our superior formulation of 100% acrylic resins guarantees maximum beauty and protection. This is an instore tintable stain, it comes in base depending on colour you choose, the mixing clerk will tell you the base once you tell them the colour.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JMO_27 from Disappointing I applied this stain/sealer 2 years ago. The deck faces south, so gets much sun. This year the deck looks terrible. The stain is peeling in many spots. I am going to have to sand it all down and re-stain. I should have left is natural.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lara8 from Good For Two Year’s...Maybe Been using this for 8 years. On older wood starts peeling after one year. New wood maybe 2 years. Not designed for Regina winters. Might be better in Toronto. All the stains last about the same. I just pressure wash and reapply. Sanding is a waste of time given that it doesn’t last anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bruce Fraser from One year later, still looking good A paint or stain review is worthless, until at least one winter has passed. So I waited until now. The finish on the wood is still looking good. It's not lifting or peeling anywhere. I'll update this after the third winter.

Many hours of sanding, prepping later, and doing some research, decided on Olympic Maximum ( semi transparent) for decking, solid stain on pergola, stair risers, deck outer framing. I chose Ebony for a modern twist, in style and contrast, happy to report stain has held up very well to heat and it’s first winter.

The deck faces south so gets a lot of sun in the summer and as a result there was some slight fading but still looks ok. Had to touch up a couple of small areas but i think this is mainly due to the wood being about 20 yrs old. By the way service at RONA curbside pick up during the start of the pandemic was great.
