Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve from I really love this thing. Its quiet, odor free (no gasoline motor/exhaust), low maintenance and it does an amazing job cutting through whatever you throw at it. If you've had one of those cheap 14 inch electric chainsaws like I did, you will be wowed by this one. Instead of a hex-wrench adjusting tensioning system, this has a dial/knob that makes removing and re-tensioning system a 1 minute endeavor. I strongly recommend skipping the cheap small chainsaw and going directly to this! It feels extremely safe - if you let go of the safety and trigger it stops immediately.

Sharpener and tensioner are easy to use. both work exactly as described. Love this saw. Very safe to use. Chain stops immediately when you take finger off trigger. Very quiet. I have about 3/4 acre of trees around my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joseph from I'm trying to break it! I have not been gentle with this saw and it's still going! I've cut logs from 30" to limbs off a tree. I've cut oak and cypress. I have use this saw to make cross cuts (logs) and as a chainsaw mill (boards). I tend to pop breakers on 15 amp or shared 20 amp circuits. However, no issues on my dedicated 20 amp line. I bent my first chain, my fault. I have used up my second chain and the sharpening stone that came with it. But the saw is still going strong. The only negative, to me, is the oiler had a hard time keeping up with my heavy duty cutting... But I am pushing it to the limit. I plan on adding an external oiler to help with my dry chain and bar issues. Again, this is due to cutting such large pieces. I keep the chain and self tightening hardware clean and blown off with my air compressor to help reduce heat and oil blockage. Overall, awesome saw. Will be getting another one if/when I finally succeed at breaking this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lone Diver from Good Chainsaw I needed a part for my old 16 inch corded chainsaw, but it was discontinued. It was time for a new one. I went with this Oregon 18 inch. It runs a couple of amps higher than my old one. I was cutting through a couple of hefty, dense rounds and tripped the house fuse a couple of times. I found it best not to overwork this chainsaw to avoid that, but not a big issue. It’s a powerful saw. I like the idea of the built in sharpening stone. It works great, but it’s recommended you change the stone every time you change the saw chain. I don’t see myself doing that. Don’t know yet. The stone gunks up with lubricating oil and wood chips, so I’d make sure to keep it as clean as possible when sharpening. So far, it’s been a nice replacement for my old 25-30 year old chainsaw.

Love the self sharpening option. This chainsaw cut through Ash like it was butter. Since it's electric it's easy to maintain. No fuel to mix, only bar oil to add. As long as you are within reach of an electrical outlet you are good to go.

Loads of power, great braking system, as good as my Gas Jonsred which is a real good saw, but you have to mix gas/oil. Both are FIVE STAR Saws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dds1 from fantastic 18 inch electric chain saw. i have a preference for gasoline chainsaws, but i was totally pleased with this 18 inch electric chainsaw. power is great, price is great, self sharpening feature is nice and not available on other saws, safety features are great, chain adjustment feature is excellent and easy to to do, longer warranty is great to have. also comes with a great owners manual, i have never seen one as instructive as this one. i highly recommend this saw and would definitely buy it again. cuts thick branches and trunks really well.

The workings of this chainsaw are simple; let the saw do the work for you! Weight of the saw is not overpowering. It is easily cleaned after the job is complete. *Remember to check the bar chain oil if doing a large job; you will need to refill so keep an eye on that.*
