Prep like a pro before painting with the ScotchBlue(TM) painter's tape designed for trim and baseboards. It allows you to achieve extra sharp paint lines when used on baseboards and trim, metal, and glass. A clean removal with no surface damage is possible within 14 days following the application.It can be used both indoors and outdoors. This tape features a medium adhesion level, the Advanced Edge-Lock(TM) technology, and UV resistance. It is 1.4" (36 mm) wide and 60 yd (55 m) long.

For great paint results make sure the surface is clean, dry and dust-free so that the tape sticks properly. Next, apply the tape onto the surface while pressing down firmly as you go.Lastly let the tape set for about 30 to 60 minutes before painting
Tape Removal Tips: Wait until the paint is dry to the touch before removing the tape. Lift the tape up by slowly pulling it back on itself, then removing at a 45-degree angle

Rated 1 out of 5 by picktoo from Terrible product! I tried using this edge-lock tape when putting a final finish coat on new baseboards and shoe mold. Upper surface was lightly textured and painted drywall, lower surface was wood flooring. Tape began to fall of the wall within five minutes, requiring me to reposition and press it back on as I went. It held onto the wood flooring with a death grip, but the instructions on the inside of the spool, in very tiny print state to not use it on wood floors. Fortunately, there was no damage when I pulled it off. This is expensive tape that does not work. I'll be going back to regular blue tape for the rest of the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cheri from Edge Lock -- NOT! After we spent literally hours taping a geometric pattern on the wall, the tape edges didn't hold at all and every single line has bleed-under. I even went ahead of my husband as he rolled the wall, and I re-sealed every edge of every line of tape, to no avail. The only clean lines we got were on the tape where it crossed over itself -- it stuck to itself beautifully! I will now have to redo the edge of every line on the whole wall with a small brush to cover the bleed-unders. I will never, ever buy this product again.

Spent so much time and money into the proper prep work; good primer, Benjamin Moore paint, nice lines on the trim, the you remove tape and it peels paint off the walls. Makes for terrible touch up since it’s right at the edge of the trim. Not a fluke think either, been happening over the past few years

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yseulte from Smooth, easy application with minimal fuss. This is the painter's tape of choice for good reason: thick but not too thick, durable, and easy to apply. I used Scotch Blue to protect white baseboards from a recent paint job (dark purple walls) and to trim the ceiling from errant splashes. Couldn't ask for better seal without ripping paint off the existing surfaces. The only problem might be me, the user, figuring out the best way to use a single 12' long strip instead of multiple ones. The Scotch painter's tape stays where I put it, and comes up easily when I was ready to remove it. You really do get what you pay for: no blue marks, no bleed, and no fighting and fussing with tape mummification. Highly recommendation for any project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Robert from NEVER AGAIN Scotch I spent 3 hours carefully applying this tape, nice and smooth for a striped wall. As soon as I started applying the first coat of paint the tape started wrinkling leaving very visible gaps between the tape and the wall. Now I need to start over with tape that isn't garbage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product to mask whole bedroom including the window, the ceiling fan mount, outlets, the door’s trim, and the border of the room’s floor. Did not stick well. Some places it didn’t even stick to its self.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Trailblazen from No Sharp Lines/Bleeds Definitely had some issues with this tape. Thought I had a bad roll so grabbed another while working on a project. Still bled through and no sharp lines with either roll. Claims multi-surface but on textured walls it falls very short. Had to go back and repaint the area's that bled which added time to the task. Does not live up to the normal quality I am used to with scotch products.
